Now, back to the open water *SCREECHING HALT* to fix our seacock that is seized and leaking water. A consistent dripping of water into the boat. Tucked into a little corner off of Sarasota Bay is the boatyard that comes recommended from our boating friends. Add a barge entering right behind us, and you get a very intense arrival. While the boat is out of the water to replace the seacock we decide to get a new bottom paint job, replace the zinc on our shaft, and repaint the propeller. The boatyard, NE Taylor Boatworks, was awesome and they had the work completed and Dodi back in the water in less than a week. The boat is finally in tip top shape, however our wallets have taken a hit. We feel optimistic about our future adventures but will need to get creative to continue our journey. That's The Boat Life! We spend the next days painting RAN, fixing stuff and getting rid of the horrible smell we've noticed for a couple of days. Then we get a very exciting invitation which was hard to say no to. To spend the Christmas sailing on a Swan 60! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. It’s that time of year again when we swap out the summer tires for snow/winter wheels on the Porsche 996 Turbo and MINI Roadster with a special segment on how to deal with the Turbo’s PCCB or “Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes” (Ceramic Brakes). We take you through the whole process from summer wheel removal to mounting of the winter snow tires/wheels. It is a straightforward process, but there are some bits to look out for. It's time to explore Cumberland Island - land of the wild horses - and to see if the cousins of the Carrot Island herd are as bloodthirsty as their kin. No joking now... Cumberland is WONDERFUL. This is a place here we would definitely like to revisit for at least a week, to thoroughly explore, and to experience this wild and wonderful place all over again.
