Welcome to Episode 3! This week we do a LOT of sailing (well, motor-sailing). We leave Falmouth Harbour in Antigua to head up to Jolly Harbour. En route we spot a simmering volcano on Montserrat and our SUP explodes! (More on this in an upcoming episode). We then head to Nevis for one night before taking advantage of a rare southerly wind to make the passage north to St Barts. Several days are spent at anchor outside Gustavia, the capital of St Barts. The water is crystal clear and the town is wonderful- a sophisticated blend of France and the Caribbean- but once the wind swings around to the south-east, the anchorage becomes very rolly and uncomfortable and it is once again time to move on. After we bought our new secondhand Dufour 31 from 1977 ;-) It was time to test her out. Before we purchased the boat we did a test sail with the previous owner but we never sailed her alone. It was a bit scary because we both have never sailed alone on a bigger boat like this. But in the end it's just like a small boat the only difference is that everything goes slower. A quick video drone tour of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. The first place we visit is the east end of the island. Home of the Foxy's Taboo and the Bubbly Pool. From there we do a quick fly by of Great Harbour. We finish off the tour at White Bay, home of the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar.
