We decided retiring early, not rich is better than working our lives away, retiring rich but unable to enjoy all that living aboard Freya has to offer. Our plan is to sail through the islands down to South America, then continue on down the east coast to Argentina. After rounding Cape Horn, explore the west coast of South America, Central America, Mexico, California, British Columbia and Alaska. Then who knows?

So here it is, my biggest challenge in my sailing career! Sailing solo across the North Sea from Haugesund, Norway- to Lerwick on Shetland the 26th of January. This made me and Sigurd the first ones ever to have crossed the North Sea solo to join the Up Helly Aa- festival on these beautiful islands... Some say crazy, I say crazy not to give it a try. This is how we develop and grow. Staying safe all the time wont get you anywhere. The video was hard to make. Its all about having the effort to pick up the camera when you really dont want to, and most important, trying to make a story out of it.. Seasick, cold and wet every minute. I loved it. Its all about making a plan and follow it. Theres only plan A. You dont think about plan B before you are forced to! Stay on your course and hold it steady! This week the Teak Deck screw removal continues but I figure everyone is getting tired of that. I know I am, so let me know if you want me to keep documenting it as I go or just wait for new and different tasks within the job. We also started to pull apart the V-berth in preparation for insulation, new backing plates for all the stanchions and refinishing the interior of the V-berth. In the end we will end up with new wiring, LED lights, insulated hull and overhead, no more leaking doghouse (Forward companionway) and many other benefits.
