We arrive early at the Salon International de Multicoque in LGM, so we're able to see the amount of work involved to set up a show like this. Good location to verify the choices we've made, to meet quite a lot of YouTube followers and to make new friends.

Long-term cruising is all about being self-sufficient. While in port, we take the opportunity to learn how to can our own meat, make our pickled vegetables and do a few canvas sewing projects around the boat. These are things that will save us lots of money, and are important skills to have to sustain our lifestyle. Oh, and we also go on a dinghy rescue mission and retrieve Makara! ________________ We hope you enjoy our videos and adventures. Rain of Old Testament magnitude descended on Spain's Costa del Sol for day two of the RC44 Sotogrande Cup. While the wind was not excessive, the sea state decidedly was. Even as RC44 crews and race management surfaced for their breakfast this morning, it was evident that the onshore easterly breeze, that had been blowing all night, had caused the sea state to build to the extent that waves were already breaking over the harbour wall. RC44 Principal Race Officer Peter 'Luigi' Reggio managed to venture out of the harbour this morning to assess the washing machine-like situation: "The wind isn't the issue, it's the waves," he explained. "The sea state is so bad that some really serious damage will happen if we send them out. They have to go upwind against those waves just to put up their mainsails and it's really impossible. Also, it is low tide and the waves are so big that we're afraid in the troughs the boats might hit the bottom. And it is just going to get worse - the waves are forecast to build this afternoon so then getting the boats in will be even more impossible than it was getting them out." And so, to applause and unanimous relief from the crews, Reggio announced the cancellation of racing for the day at the morning skippers' briefing. The RC44 Sotogrande Cup is the first event of the 2017 RC44 Championship Tour, which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts. Rule 18.3 has been changed and according to rules guru Butch Ulmer, not necessarily for the best. This video teaches you how starboard roundings will be much more difficult under this rule.
Appendix T is new to the Racing Rules of Sailing. A version of it was a US Sailing prescription in the previous rules, but now it is a rule for all sailors around the world. This video goes through what it says and how it can affect your racing.

In this video I show how to make some awesome cheesy garlic bread!
We love Black Point, Exumas so much that we've dubbed it our official Bahamian "Home Away From Home". The people are wonderful, there is a grocery store, restaurants, laundry facility, and showers. Everything is laid back, and things move a bit more slowly here... even slower than most parts of the Bahamas, if you can believe it. The anchorage is well protected from every direction except West, and the holding is as good as it gets. Then, if all that isn't enough, Blackpoint is situated between Staniel Cay and Little Farmers... 2 other settlements that likely have any resources you might need that aren't available in Blackpoint. Suffice it to say that of all the places we've been thus far, Blackpoint is what we call "Our Home Away From Home". Now, this video is divided up into 2 parts. We took a ton of footage while we were there, so be sure to also watch Part 2 when you're finished with this one. Thanks for watching!! A first walkthrough of La Rochelle based Neel Trimarans new 51ft cruising trimaran from La Grande Motte multihull show 2017. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Yachting World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/user/yachtingworld?sub_confirmation=1 The Neel 51 may have turned plenty of heads at La Grande-Motte boat show in April, but can three hulls really offer the style and accommodation expected these days of a luxury performance multihull? Neel has found a clever niche offering the performance benefits of a trimaran with the type of accommodation offered in a cruising catamaran. This new trimaran, the Neel 51, was the most talked-about multihull at La Grand-Motte boat show in April, and of the year so far. The La Rochelle company argues its trimarans are more stable than cruising catamarans. Cats, it says, reach their peak righting moment at 12º heel, beyond which sail needs to be reduced. That peak for a tri, however, is not until 27º heel – an unusually steep angle for cruising. Neel also argues that trimarans are faster, particularly upwind, thanks to a more rigid forestay (attached to centre hull) and more central weight management. The Joubert-Nivelt design incorporates the best assets of Neel’s previous 45 and 65 models – that of performance and comfort in a bluewater family yacht – and adds even more space for its size. Juvenile Black Tip Reef Sharks at the Misool Eco Resort Patrol Post, Raja Ampat. Video by Tamara Frins. Also see trip report at http://www.thesevenseas.net/news/2017-04-1.html
It is about 9:45 on our first morning aboard the Seven Seas. We were up at 6:00 and in the water for our first dive of the day at 7:30. It was spectacular. Beautiful coral and clouds of fish are all around. Everything from a Pygmy Seahorse the size of the nail on your little finger, to a school of Napoleon Wrasse and big grey reef sharks. We just had breakfast and will be going in for our second dive of the day in about an hour. We are off to a great start and first full day on board. On our third dive we saw majestic Manta Rays that were easily 12 feet across. After diving, we took a trip to Bat Island where a colony of fruit bats spent their day hanging in the trees sleeping. The island was packed with them. Their wingspan can be over a meter. Other than their wings, they look like little foxes. Right at sunset, they all headed out to feed on another island. Clouds of them flew past our boat. Full trip report: http://www.thesevenseas.net/news/2017-04-1.html Video by Tamara Frins.

"Exploring Khao Sok during our trip to Thailand was really fun. We decided to travel to a forest, the National Park of Khao Sok, where we went to a day tour in a lake with limestone rocks and a cave." Roberta “After I finished my Civil Engineering degree in Brazil in the end of 2015 I decided that I wanted to take an extra step. So with the full support of my long time adventure partner I started a Master Degree at Sydney University and that’s how we sold most of our belongings and moved from Brazil to Australia. But 6 months later we realized that actually that was not what we were looking for. So instead of flying back straight to our country, we decided to take a few sabbatical months and travel until the end of 2016. The plan was simple, we wanted to travel to places where it is cheap and/or comfortable, and take the time to think about our own lives so we could decide what we wanted to do from 2017 and on. RAN and we sail to Antigua and lay anchor in Freeman Bay, English Harbour. This is the place to go to if you want to see a lot of superyachts! We couldn't help ourselves to daydream about which boat we would like to have. So many beautiful yachts! But English Harbour is not only a place for superyachts, it's also a world heritage site with Nelson's dockyard. Beside from walking around in the historical dockyard, we watch the SUP-paddler Chris Bertish make landfall after 93 days at sea crossing the Atlantic! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. WANT MORE? How to swim with dolphins? Well the answer is simple. Wait until a mother and a baby swim next to your baot and then jump in.Welcome to what I think is my FAVOURITE EPISODE YET! I had so much fun editing this. I hope you guys love it as much as I do! Firstly, Allison decided that after several days of drinking, swimming and eating lobster we really ought to burn off some calories and go for a hike. She promised smoothies at the end of it, so of course we agreed. WELL. We didn't expect the hike to be so physically exhausting, but the views up the top were worth it and the smoothie was super refreshing. When we got back to the boat we were beyond excited to see dolphins swimming around our boat! Of course we immediately jumped in! What followed was perhaps the most amazing experience of the season- which says a lot. Swimming with wild dolphins was just as cool as it sounds. The baby was so playful and couldn't get enough of us! Just as it swam away and we thought it was ready to move on, it came back for another round! Amazing. After some really memorable evenings onboard with our friends Bo and Allison (www.sailingba.com) and Ben and Quinn (www.svwanderlust.com) it was time for Nick and I to finally move on from the BVI/USVI and head to Peurto Rico. This definitely marked the end of a chapter in our sailing season. Needless to say, it's been possibly the best chapter ever with more friends than we could have ever imagined and some incredibly memorable experiences. Thanks so much for watching! The opening day of the RC44 season and the RC44 Sotogrande Cup proved extremely trying for PRO Peter Reggio and his race management team as they valiantly strove to keep the course orientated to the wind, an operation that required course changes on nearly every leg of all today's four races. With the heavy guns out in the RC44 fleet, today's four races had four different winners with giant victories especially for Alexander Novoselov's Katusha in race one and the local heroes on John Bassadone's Gibraltar based team Peninsula Petroleum in race four. Team Nika ends the opening day two points clear of Chris Bake's Team Aqua in turn three points ahead of Bronenosec Sailing Team. The light blue RC44 was widely considered star performer today as all but three of her crew, including the helmsman are new to the fleet. The RC44 Sotogrande Cup is the first event of the 2017 RC44 Championship Tour, which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts.
