In this vlog, Ben bakes bread on a boat using simple ingredients. Tambi helps a little too. I've made bread 3 times now. Since I'm now a qualified, experienced, and dare I say EXPERT baker, I've decided to share my bread-baking skills with the world. This is a simple, 4 ingredient recipe, that anyone can follow to produce a very tasty loaf of boatmade bread. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BEN'S BOAT BREAD RECIPE: - 1 & 1/2 Cup Warm Water (120 - 130F) - 1 Packet of Yeast - 3/4 TBSP Salt - 3 & 1/4 Cups Flour MIX INGREDIENTS: Warm water to 120-130f. Pour water in a medium mixing bowl. Add yeast to the water and stir. Add salt to the water/yeast. Add flour to the water/yeast/salt. Mix the ingredients together well until it becomes a uniform dough. PREP FOR BAKING: Apply oil to the inside surfaces of your baking pan. Sprinkle extra flour on the coated baking pan. Add your dough into the pan and move it around a bit to distribute it evenly in the bottom of the pan. ALLOW DOUGH TO RISE: Cover the pan with a cloth and put the dough/pan in a non-drafty place. Allow the dough to rise for 2-3 hours. The dough should roughly double in size. BAKE THE BREAD: Place the pan in 350F degree oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes have passed, "thump" the bread and inspect it visually. It should make a hollow "thump" sound when done, and it should also look slightly browned. EAT THE BREAD: It might be a good idea to let it cool a bit first, but the pleasant aroma of freshly baked bread may override this step. You have some creative freedoms at this point. You can pick up the entire loaf and eat it caveman style or you can slice it up like a somewhat civilized person. This week we explored Guadeloupe, two wings of it. First we stopped on western cost and visited a small village called Deshaies, a place where for the first time we cleared in clothing store. The very next day we sailed under the left wing of the Guadeloupe and anchored out in Point-a-Pitre, where Jack finally got his hair cut. On our way to Marie-Galante we stopped for few hours by Ilet du Gosier, a lovely island with lighthouse and amazing turquoise water around. We are an international couple - Jack (from France), Kateryna (from Ukraine). We have been crossing this wonderful life together since 10 years. Finally (after many years of dreaming) we are living a "true" life. We have a plan to sail across all oceans (almost), and will be happy to share this adventurous lifestyle with you! Just as I'm about to leave Alicante, I meet Diana Ross in person, as well as her husband Paul. They happen to be Winded Voyage followers. My journey continues along the coast until I get to Mare Menor where I have to get me and Galopin under a drawbridge to get to the marina. The next day wind is brisk and I sail out to sea to tack along the coast to Cartagena. Things didn't work out as I'd hope and I'm forced to go into a marina that is too shallow and next thing I'm stuck in the sand. We manage to get free and continue along the Costa Calida towards Cartagena into the night. My navigation error offers me a most beautiful sunset on a wild undeveloped coast.
