There’s no end to summer here in Mexico, and we have some perfect sailing days along with the summer days. Sailing from Isla Coronado north to Punta Pulpito, we check out a sea cave, the blue footed boobies and do some awesome spear fishing. Making our way up to Bahía Concepción, we have the perfect downwind spinnaker sail, drifting along nicely all day long, soaking up the best of sailing days. ________________ We hope you enjoy our videos and adventures. The splash did not go as planned we are not sailing. We have a leak which mean no sailing, a delaying our travel vlog launch. We will have to wait a little long till we will be living on a yacht. Before we can fix it we have to find it. This job seemed like a good one to call in the professionals. Hopefully it won't send us way off budget or schedule, but knowing how boat projects can be it could get pricey. This is what it is like living on a sailboat. The good news is it can be fixed. We should be on the water in no time. Then we can actually start living on the boat, which will make all the frustration of downsizing seem worth it. This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! Simple plan, but lots to learn and do along the way. Join our adventure as we sail away, live on a sailboat, and explore life aboard. Thanks for watching! Just take a few minutes every day for yourself, breathe deep and relax, and don’t forget to SMILE big time! We anchor the boat at Spanish Wells and take the dinghy to Papa Scoops to get icecream cones. Whew - Getting a late release on this one. Internet issues almost made us miss this Friday release, but we've pulled it off! Behold... Spanish Wells! Land of fishing boats, golf carts, Papa's Scoops, and bad anchorages. We spent exactly 1 day exploring Spanish Wells. It's a pretty chill place. Yeah, golf carts are the primary mode of transportation around the island. They're everywhere! Also, the price of food is the closest to the USA that we have experienced anywhere in the Bahamas. Alrighty, enough of stuff. Time to enjoy the show. Thanks for watching!! NOW SOLD http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/ericson-46-cheeky-encounter Designed by Bruce King and launched in 1974 ‘Cheeky Encounter’ is arguably the best known version of this beautifully appointed Ericson 46 in the Southern Hemisphere. Engineered for offshore passage making, the Ericson 46 has proven to have superb upwind and reaching performance. With optional inner forestay and running backstays, the sloop/cutter rig is both powerful yet easily handled by only two people. With flush decks with amidships and rear companionways, opening up into a well appointed and very protected aft cockpit ‘Cheeky Encounter’ will provide you with assurance and comfort while at sea. Her interior finish in mahogany offers a sensible layout with both a forward guest cabin and extra-large owner’s cabin aft with two large enclosed heads allowing un-intrusive liveaboard quarters for two couples with full 6’ 3” headroom. The Nav station is to port below the main companionway with two switch panels, large E120 Raymarine plotter, Coursemaster Autopilot, HF and VHF radios. Opposite the nav station is the L-shaped galley with companionway to the aft cabin and rear companionway which opens out into the aft cockpit. This yacht was designed for serious ocean cruising and has been built with comfort and safety in mind. Every inch of the yacht has been strengthened and reinforced in the manufacturing stage. The current owner has devoted his 12-year ownership to maintaining the yacht to an incredibly high standard with upgrades that would be hard to beat in any modern cruising yacht. To complete a meticulous and extensive inventory, Cheeky Encounter boasts a new Volvo Penta engine, new bow thruster and generator, new rigging, new antifoul, s/s davitts and much much more. One of our viewers watched our film on installing the WiFi system into a B&G network and suggested we take a look at the software upgrade that was available for it. Well a cursory read of the B&G blurb suggested that it might be worth doing so we gave it a go and this is what happened. Music from http://www.purple-planet.com/

How to install a windgenerator yourself. It is actually very basic and anyone can do this to provide him/herself with free energy for the coming years :) Here I am installing a 300 watt Windkenetic windgenerator on my sailing boat that can generate 25 amps an hour. But you can install this anywhere for any off grid situation.

Music by Aubrey Danielle (https://soundcloud.com/aubreydaniellemusic) Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, Nikon D810, Sony RX100 iii, DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, Underwater Housing, tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What're your plans? Buy a boat, fix it up, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.
We've started showing you the process to build the lead keel. In one of the previous videos we showed the plug being made, now we get into the structure we built to hold that male plug, pour concrete in it and remove it to reveal a female mold which the lead will then be poured into. Barbados in this episode I, meet swimming horses and a friend, make a rain catcher and steal water, break the winch, go to as beach bar and sail to Martinique. Now on Patreon. Im pleased to announce we are now on Patreon. Please checkout our page on the link below. https://www.patreon.com/Adventuresofanoldseadog Thank you for watching this episode of Adventures of an old Seadog, I hope you enjoyed it. A great deal of work and love goes into every video in the series. Please give us a thumbs up. On Facebook our page is ‘Adventures of an old Seadog’ and there you can find ‘realtime’ up-dates and news that you are welcome to share with your friends. All of the ‘Seadog’ videos are available to watch on the ‘Barry Perrins’ channel on Youtube. For notifications on new releases please subscribe. Thanks so much for your support, The adventure continues. Safe sailing. Twitter https://twitter.com/barryperrins Facebook https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofanoldseadog/ Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Disclaimers and copyrights : All video content on this channel/page is copyright and must not be used without permission. How To BEACH A SAILING CAT, Mysterious Mustique This week the beautiful island of Bequia delivers more amazing experiences. We meet African from Grenadines Sailing Adventures and hitch a ride on his Lagoon 410 for a day trip to Mustique. We look for a beach to careen Luckyfish and run through a checklist to make sure nothing goes wrong. The girls have some fun cracking their first coconut and we try, and try, to see the Green Flash. We hope you enjoy, comment and question. And, do like, SHARE and subscribe if you want more! You can support our creations by becoming a PATRON, link below. You guys are AWESOME ! IMPI is a catamaran with couple Brent and Ana sailing around the world having left South Africa some years ago. In Part 1 we sail from South Africa, Brazil and more - we eventually transit the Atlantic to the Pacific oceans by crossing through the Panama Canal and journey many islands ending part 1 with the arrival of the Tuamotu Archipelago. In this series (PART 2) we linger a little in the Tuamotu's because these are amongst our most spectacular causing grounds ever. We hope you enjoy ... MUSIC CREDIT: 1. This episode begins in the Pakleni Islands where El retrieves our wayward tender seat, before we have a cracking sail for Vis in the furthest reaches of Dalmatia. We visit the charming town of Komiza, a little haven for yachts that is little visited by tourists, and then sail on to the beautiful secluded Diamond Beach on the south east coast of Vis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subscribe to our YouTube channel if you would like to follow our adventures sailing around the world. Light and crisp characteristics yield a quick response, high performance rig which makes the Wavescape the perfect choice for explosive down-the-line moves. With all new shorter boom lengths for 2018, the Wavescape 4-batten layout makes for light, powerful, and compact handling. And with total xply construction; 4mil biax window sections with our exclusive 3.5 biax body panels, you can be confident that your wavescape will survive anything you put it in! When water goes vertical, the Wavescape is the ultimate mobility and expression tool for your own style.
Loftsails’ no-compromise dedicated freestyle design - agile, quick and reactive. Ultra-light, the Airscape provides explosive power, wide wind range and reliable stability in an easy ducking, perfect-to-pop package. The Airscape is a featherweight, ultra responsive and rapidly accelerating rig that goes neutral for the most acrobatic freestyle windsurfing moves and rips as well in waves.
Windsurfing has gone to another dimension - flying free of the water’s surface. Foiling is new and the Skyscape is newly built for it. Sails for foil designs are best light, with low end grunt and superior upwind character. The Skyscape design package includes 5 battens with 3 cams and a low outline configuration. Skyscape sail profile exhibits pronounced forward orientation - augmenting the low-end grunt needed in light winds to pop up and go. Softer & more forward-oriented batten systems with a slightly firmer leech perfectly match the more front-foot oriented stance associated with foiling.
Premium balance & stability in challenging conditions is what the Pure Lip is all about! Playing in the waves is demanding, both for you and your gear. The number one priority of the Pure Lip is to be able to handle brutal poundings in breaking surf, followed by rig stability in varying winds associated with wavesailing. Stability and durability are the strong suits of the Pure Lip, which magazine test reports over the years undoubtedly confirm. The Pure Lip 2018 is built to survive: total xply construction, 5mil triax low, 4mil biax window sections and our new 3.5 biax upper body provides the stability you need while making sure the sail is reinforced to handle anything you put in its way. Sometimes conditions take you to limits... go there and beyond with total confidence in the Pure Lip!
Generated from the successful 2017 edition, the new Switchblade 2018 leads the field again by taking it to the next level of performance in free ride sailing. Renowned for having the widest range of its class, the Switchblade transforms from a low-end powerhouse to a top-end racing weapon thanks to its wide tuning range.
Redesigned for 2018, the Blade FR has evolved to even greater efficiency and speed for dedicated upwind and downwind formula courses. The Loftsails FR has a long and proven history in Formula racing – Dennis Littel’s incredible 10 successive titles, and Fernando Martinez 6-time Spanish national champion.
The Loftsails Raceboard Blade (9.5 & 8.5) has a history in raceboard World Championships, winning the World Championships twice under the the guide of Fernando Martinez and Alex Buchau. This specialist discipline involves providing power and lift for course-racing hulls (longboards with centerboards) with specific designs for upwind drive and extreme pointing in displacement mode from ultra-light wind to moderate breeze conditions – and full-planing downwind legs. Loftsails’ Raceboard Blade is a full bodied, low-end power source with superb, streamlined, and efficient trim reactivity for the top end of the wind range-of-use. The 6-batten, 3 cam Loftsails Raceboard Blade 9.5 and 8.5 have no rivals in competitive Raceboard medium to strong wind designs. The Raceboard Blade 9.5 LW (Light Wind) is a specialized 5-batten, 3 cam design optimized for the best possible light to medium wind performance.
Completely redesigned for 2018, the Racing Blade is the ultra-complete slalom performance package for any serious racer. New luff curves, vertical and horizontal shaping, leech tuning and batten profiles make this 2017 double test winning design leap to the next level, ensuring you’ll leave the rest of the pack in your wake.
Loftsails’ Speed Blades are dedicated speed designs that have consistently broken the “50-knot barrier”. Loftsails Speed Blades won events such as the prestigious Luderitz-Canal challenge in Namibia. Speed Blades are developed with Speedsailing legend Erik Beale, Loftsails’ Speed Team and Speed Product Manager. Similar to Racing Blades in design, Speed Blades are tuned with slightly more upper leech release to suit downwind courses typical of serious speed sailing courses.
