We wanted to capture our beautiful sailboat in painting and wanted to do it right on the front of our home. We saw the work of a local artist from this area named Sandra Priest and really liked her style and work. We met with Sandra, Showed her pictures, and she quick sketched a rough draft and scale of what she was thinking. She took the time to understand what was important to us and even during the painting stopped to ensure that we were happy with the proportions and details she was considering with the boat. We continue to tear apart and remodel the galley on our Gulfstar 44 sailboat. This episode we make 3 more cabinets and plate ware (dish) storage... or what we call "T" storage. I continue as Captain to show off my lack of carpentry skills, but do come up with a unique solution to a bowl storage issue... as the Admiral continues to come up with more additions from the internet and tiny house nation.

Oman Sail was established in 2008 with His Majesty’s blessing to rekindle Oman’s maritime heritage, promote the Sultanate of Oman around the world through sailing and provide long-term learning opportunities for the youth of Oman. David Graham CEO of Oman Sail welcomes the GC32 fleet and explains why hosting events such and the GC32 Racing Tour showcases what they do.

With a light forecast, the opening day of the GC32 Oman Cup looked like it might be marginal. However in the end four out of five of the scheduled races were sailed just north of the Al Mouj marina with a challenging set of wind conditions at times enabling the GC32s to fly fully, sometimes to hull fly only and at other times leaving the ultra-high performance catamarans with both hulls firmly ‘low-‘riding in displacement mode.

There's more than 600 miles of this spectacular shoreline, extending from the province of Antalya in the south to the Cesme peninsula in the north including Bodrum, Gocek, Marmaris, Fethiye. Less crowded than Santorini and St. Tropez and considerably more affordable, Bodrum remains blessedly free of the kind of overtourism that comes with cruise ship day-trippers, since its port can accommodate just two large ships -- and infrequently sees those.
