So it ran a contest among its former BVI charter customers. The winners, a family with a young son and daughter, and two couples, would cruise BVIs free while staring in a promotional video produced and narrated by sailing legend Gary Jobson--not a bad deal! The family sails on a catamaran while the couples sail on a monohull. The two charters visit all the key destinations in the British Virgin Islands. Meet the Sunsail contest winners through highlights from their entries -- home videos showing their desire to sail once again in the magic waters of the BVI. Then join the couples during their dockside briefing by a Sunsail Sailing Master. A BRIEF BVI HISTORY Early mariners from Venezuela were the first to visit the BVIs around the year 900 AD. Chris Columbus came ashore on his second voyage in 1493. In the seventeenth century, Pirates found safe haven in the BVI's many hidden coves. The Spanish and Dutch were the first Europeans to occupy the BVI followed by the British who exported sugar, molasses and rum. Today, the locals still fish and farm, but also participate in the new vacation economy.

Our bad luck seemed to continue to follow us in the Marshall Islands and we lost our GoPro to the ocean... Finally all the spare parts arrived and most importantly, the rudder arrived and we installed it in the water. We also changed the propeller shaft sealing which turned out to be a bit more tricky than we thought it would be. We also got our Visas to USA and we look forward to go there this spring! We move on and finally reach Lombok. We arrive to Medana Bay Marina where is kind of special - we meet another 2 rallies: Sail 2 Indonesia and ARC rally. The latter is circumnavigating the world in less than 1.5 years and there we had a pleasure meeting Niobe - Amel 50 where we toured it. Lombok Wildlife park was a really cool place where we get to meet local animals and interact with them. We also stopped in Gili Air - small touristy island not far from main island. Marina Del Ray - our last destination in Lombok and we felt a bit like myth-busters taking the journey south via Lombok strait. Yesterday racing was canned with the breeze gusting to 40 knots. Today, despite a large residual swell, conditions appeared more sailable, but for almost two hours the wind failed to settle, its direction pulled around due to the giant clouds crossing the Bay of Palma race area. Although light to moderate, the wind randomly shifted between southwest and northwest and back before finally settling close to the former when, on their fifth attempt, the race committee was able to lay a course successfully.

Oggi la transumanza si pratica ancora in qualche zona della Sardegna ,come l‘Ogliastra, ma soltanto per dei tratti più corti. L'UNESCO sta per riconscere la transumanza come patrimonio immateriale dell' umanità. L'agenzia di ecoturismo Sardaigne en liberté promuove un turismo sostenibile che implica la valorizzazione dei territori dell’entroterra. In questo contesto ci sta particolarmente a cuore valorizzare questa tradizione antica e i pastori in particolare, in quanto protagonisti di tale pratica. A tale scopo, Sardaigne en liberté si é associata a Slow Food Ogliastra-associazione che promuove il patrimonio gastronomico e il cibo locale creando l'iniziativa“Tramudas, transumanza in Sardegna“ in collaborazione con l‘‘Hotel Orlando di Villagrande Strisaili . I participanti accompagnano le pecore e le capre attraversando il paese di Arzana e percorrendo gli antichi itinerari della transumanza per arrivare all ovile Vivre la transhumance en Sardaigne , C est possible !!!

Irgendwo an der Adriaküste zwischen Venedig und Triest bereiten die beiden ihre Reinke Super Secura auf die, im kommenden Jahr startende, Langfahrt vor. Das Ziel heißt Karibik. Das Boot, für dessen Fertigstellung zwei Voreigner über 30 Jahren Bauzeit brauchten, haben sie in weniger als zwei Jahren von Grund auf restauriert und darüber in ihren Videos berichtet. On the panel 201 there is two red LEDs located at the switch nr. 14, the two red LEDs is named T1 and T2 wich stands for holding tank nr. 1 and holding tank nr. 2. The switch is for the scredder pump from the toilet to the holding tank so you get a thin flowing stream of shit to the tank. On my boat I only have one manual toilet so the scredder pump is not pressent. I also only have one holding tank so my system only use the T1 LED at the panel. In this video I show how to test the system and how to fix a fault in the sensor in the holding tank. In this video I don't let out any waste into the ocean. My holding tank has been empty all the years I have owned the boat and in this video I only use clean water to demonstrate the function of the system. The boat is constructed of exterior quality plywood, sealed with epooxy and sheathed in glass fibre and epoxy. One of the great beauties of these boats is that the ballast keel is fitted towards the end of the build, enabling the boat to be kept lower in the shed for most of the construction time. Never ending cleaning and continued to sand the interior. We were hoping to move docks but there's no sign of Ramon. We seriously looked EVERYWHERE.....and yes I really opened my eyes and mouth in the marina(multiple times) and didn't get sick! We did finally get ahold of him and he wasn't able to move us due to the windy conditions but he promised that first thing Saturday we'd be able to move. It kind of sucks that nothing works on the boat! After sanding the ceiling sections, we're starting to realize that there are so many blemishes and staples that we're not able to remove. Rethinking the whole idea of staining and varnishing rather than just painting it all white.
