Nossa expectativa pra os mergulhos de Noronha era bem alta, afinal quando dizemos que um mergulho é bom, falamos o nome do lugar "em dia de Noronha". Não nos desapontamos! Mergulhamos com cilindros (com a Noronha Divers) e com snorkel. Amamos os dois! O mergulho com cilindro foi na caverna da Sapata, ponto mais cobiçado pelos mergulhadores de Noronha, é lá onde se vê além dos peixes mais lindos a formação vulcânica da ilha. Era muito interessante olhar para cima e ver o paredão de rocha subindo até a superfície - dava até um gelinho no coração! rs O snorkel foi tão bom quanto (talvez até melhor!). Primeiro mergulhamos no Sancho, a praia mais linda de Noronha! Vimos vários peixinhos diferentes, parecia um aquário! Mas o mais impressionante foi da Praia do Meio. O Chimia, nosso amigo, falou que tinha visto arraia, tubarão, etc... eu entrei meio desconfiada, não era possível que ali, do lado do bar tivesse tudo isso! Mas tinha! E muito mais do que eu esperava! Eu matei minha vontade de ver tubarões! Estava obcecada! Queria vê-los em seu habitat natural! A gente já tinha feito um mergulho de shark feeding, mas era meio "fake", embora fossem mais de 100 animais juntos num frenesi alimentar. Mas em Noronha foi mais especial! Eles estavam ali naturalmente! Lindos, soberanos! Foi muito incrível!

Anchored in Maupihaa (otherwise known as Mopelia) - a remote atoll in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. No other boats around and no people; that is until we met Harry. This guy is one of 23 people who live on the island and he’s a coconut farmer. We get chatting to Harry somehow - he speaks no English and we speak no French. It’s amazing how you can get by with a few gesticulations and drawing in the sand. He invites us to go fishing with him - at 5am! I’m not sure how we agreed to that when we were trying to replenish our energy stores for the 900 mile sail to Niue that lay ahead of us, but we did and we are glad we did too. Crumbs that was amazing! 25 fish in 50 minutes and all with a handline out the back of a sinking tin boat. Harry brought us back to his amazing beach habitat to clean the fish and meet his pets. What a cool life this man lives. The wind we had been hanging around for showed itself and it was time to make tracks. We goose-winged out of the island with full sails and full hearts. For a Hydrofoil catamaran / flying boat usually winds beyond 20kts. and high waves are considered problematic. However, iFLY15, equipped with mechanic flight control system FlySafe®, is able to fly stable in most demanding conditions, with wind exceeding 25kts. See in this video sea conditions turning more and more extreme, and iFLY15 foiling stable and fast above the waves. In the second part of the video, as conditions exceed the 30kts., see spectacular footage of iFLY15 sailing in safety mode "NoFly", which can be activated easily within seconds. in "NoFly" mode, the foils will still create lift and the flight control system will still stabilize the catamaran against rake and nosediving, but the FlySafe® system will delimitate lift to prevent the boat from full foiling. In "NoFly" mode" in stormy conditions, the boat behavior is agile and very stable against pitch poling. FlySafe® technology together with a relatively small sail area of the foiler (on a mast of only 7.5m height) and a total width as large as 2.50m, make the iFLY15 more safe to sail in stormy conditions than bigger catamarans of 18ft. or 20ft.

Sailing Coco This week we head back to the Greek Island of Serifos to bring the boat back to Athens. As we were caught off guard by the Meltemi Winds for the summer and a dodgy gearbox we ended up having a nail biting experience a couple months ago mooring up in Serifos. This lead us to take some time out of sailing while the winds were passing through the Summer months and therefore spending some family time with Ceylan's parents in Cyprus. As we had a scary experience coming into Serifos it was such a relief when we managed to leave the harbour safely without damaging Coco or any other boats. Once we managed to get it into gear, we left it in gear the whole afternoon until we reached the harbour in Athens, where the harbour master towed us into a space. As this was our last sail on our little Coco, the whole experience was an emotional one. We are so proud of our little boat and have had an incredible 8 months living onboard. We have exciting news of a new boat that is currently being made and expected in April and will let you guys in on all the details shortly! But for now we will be selling Coco so if anyone is actually interested in looking / purchasing a boat already in the Med, give us a shout!! Follow our adventures! Who knew Southern Taiwan was a tropical paradise? The entire bottom part of the island is comprised of parkland, Kenting National Park, with ample places to hike, swim, and motor around to see the beautiful scenery. On this particular day I rented an e-bike and spent the day making a giant loop starting in the adorable town of Kending. Don't miss the beauty scene from the e-bike and on foot. It's a lovely chill area and one that has few tourists - most everyone goes to Taipei vs. this area. NEW TO OUR CHANNEL?
