Ne ho fatto un diario che ora vi racconto 18 video dalla partenza a Cape Town all'arrivo a Rio. +8 Finalmente sono riuscita a dormire sta notte... Ci siamo fatto un compagno di viaggio: INO l’uccello che ci segue da tre giorni ormai ape a volte lo accompagnano uno o due amici. Viaggia con noi passando a nostra destra poi a nostra sinistra volando in modo lento e grazioso al ritmo del vento ma con pochi battiti d’ali come per risparmiare energia e quando vira ha l’ala che tocca quasi l’acqua. E bello guardarlo, è rilassante. Lui aspetta Nicole che ogni giorno svuota l’umido in mare e poi non lo vediamo per un po….ma poi torna, cì vede da lontano. mi chiedo se è un abitudine sua di seguire le barche o nave sperando nel cibo buttato in mare. Il sole scalda di giorno ma le notte sono molto umide e spesso nuvolose.

Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. Thanks to some hefty currents pushing us along, we catch the ride of a life, sailing along at 11 knots in glass calm conditions. Leaving the Sound of Jura, we tried to make a pass through some tricky areas at slack tide, only to find out we'd timed ourselves wrong. Luckily the current was behind us and in the end we had a wonderful case of being pushed along like a rocket in just a breath of wind. Our sail leads us to Bangor Marina in Northern Ireland, which we found a beautiful town with great coastal paths for walking. Also wanting to explore Belfast though, we hopped the train into the big city where we spent the day exploring the Titanic Quarter, Botanical Gardens and museum of natural history. Enjoy! We are halfway through our longest, toughest sail from Honduras to Cartagena, Colombia. We end up sailing through rough seas, a few more solid storms, near pirate waters, and experience minor equipment failure due to the constant pounding the sea is dishing out. The near sleepless nights we are experiencing start to wear on us,as well as the boat, but we hold it together and in the end we sail into Cartagena, Colombia as happy as we have ever been on Christmas Day. Coronavirus affected our sailing plans! We decided to leave St Martin before the cruise ships brought the virus to island. We worried that if the pandemic spread quickly and borders began to close, we might not get to Bahamas in time to be able to isolate ourselves near a deserted island. We sailed overnight to south east Puerto Rico where we checked into the Marina Yacht Club at Palmas del Mar. Anyone thinking of retiring to Puerto Rico should check out this large gated community with swimming pools, shopping, yacht club, golf , restaurants, etc. We enjoyed our stay but pushed on to Bahamas.
