This week we decided to be an isolated tourist from the inside of our car. We just had to get out of the house and move away from the sheltering in place stuff that we have been doing for so long now. We also played with some RGB colored LED Lighting for the boat. Bis zum Vänernsee ist es erst einmal vorbei mit Segeln und wir sind jetzt ein Motorboot. Die schöne und sehr abwechslungsreiche Landschaft entschädigt jedoch für den Motorlärm. Spannend sind für uns die Schleusen mit ihrem Hub von bis zu 10 m. Revierinfos zum Trollhättankanal Wir haben die Karte Nr. 8 vom NV-Verlag genutzt. Die ist sehr informativ. Ich fasse hier ich mal die Reihenfolge der Brücken von Göteborg kommend zusammen. Es ist nämlich hilfreich, wenn man sich die schon mal aufschreibt, damit man weiß, wie man die Brücke über Funk richtig anspricht. Der Trollhättankanal verbindet den Vänern See mit der Ostsee. Der Kanal ist von Göteborg bis Vänersborg 85 km lang. Die Schleusen und Brücken werden von 9:00 – 19:00 Uhr bedient. Man überwindet einen Höhenunterschied von 44 m. Insgesamt gibt es 13 Brücken und 6 Schleusenkammern. Die eine Brücke direkt nach der Trollhättanschleuse ist zwar in der Karte verzeichnet aber es ist kein Name angegeben. Wir haben über Funk unsere Position angegeben bzw. die Bojen-Nr. In our new vlog episode sailing around Grenada we inspected their leftovers in David’s Bay boat yard and on the ridge of Mount Qua Qua in Grand Etang National Park which was the goal of our island hike. Stunning drone views hovering above Grenada and dipping our heads below the water surface in one of the most awesome places to visit according to National Geographic – an Underwater National Park – await you. The Robinson Crusoe island ‘Ile de Ronde’ surprised us with more beautiful reefs full of pretty tropical fish and turtles. Enjoy!

I thought I'd lost all of this footage until tidying the house for the 20th time (while a little bored on lockdown) led to us finding what was a previously lost memory card. We originally imagined that most of the footage shot from this trip was going to be useless as the weather was so bad, and we hadn't even looked at a lot of it until this week. Rum punches at Black Point and visit Musha Cay, David Copperfield's Island. From the regatta at Little Farmers we had a fun race with friends while sailing north to Black Point community. Sheltering there from strong easterly wind, we did laundry, had some nice walks and a great evening out at Scorpios, where rum punches certainly had a punch! 3 days later we had a wonderful 15nm upwind sail, southbound to David Copperfield’s beautiful island, Musha Cay. We had a dinghy tour of the island, its beaches, and also visited what looked like an abandoned marina on Cave Cay. 9-13 Feb 2020

Summer is near and we truly feel the great difference between now and our winter beginnings on the Mediterranean Sea. During our sail Marvin spotted something very strange offshore. A guy, on a pedal-boat, all alone in the middle of nothing. He leave us astonished by his courage to pedal that far from the coast. Dani will take the time to introduce you some lines and work around them on a sailing vessel. It’s pretty much simple: there’s always something to do. Our next stop during this world tour is Conil de Frontera. A surprisingly well protected anchorage in front of a small beach. At our arrival we hoped to be able to visit it, but it turned out, the ground is full of rocks and we decided not to take risks with our dinghy. We still found a way to enjoy this stop and we will soon pull up the anchor to continue our navigation in the direction of Portugal. We hope you enjoyed, Cheers!
