Protect your skin now - https://siblingco.com/shop/sunhat Kabir Parker - https://www.instagram.com/kabzfreediver/ Drake and Sofia Sweet, a brother and sister team, love the ocean. They moved to Florida at the age of 3 and have been water babies ever since. Growing up on the ocean and seeing such an increase in pollution over the last few decades has caused them much concern. While out spearfishing and sailing they began to regularly see balloons, cans, water bottles, food wrappers, plastics and other materials toxic to sea life and the ocean ecosystem. They decided they needed to help the ocean and its creatures in some way, and so Sibling Company was born. Each year, Sibling will select a non-profit group dedicated to maintaining and safeguarding the world’s oceans. Through 2019, a percentage of all profits from Sibling Co. purchases will go toward the Ocean Clean Up—the largest cleanup project in history, aiming to remove trillions of pieces of plastic waste from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Florida, the sunshine state, with its ruthless summers and 80-degree winters requires everyone to wear some sort of sun protection. To celebrate the launch of Sibling Co., Drake and Sofia have designed a straw hat with a cloth lining to help protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Drake and Sofia are excited to unveil many more products that protect the skin while supporting and bringing awareness to issues that threaten marine life.

Anchoring alone to test my shiny new Quick GP2 Genius Windlass (self isolating before it was popular!). Check out how I get on, anchoring in a small creek on the River Medway. This was filmed on a chilly day in November 2019. The Windlass is a Quick GP2 Genius 2000 which has an 800w motor and is suitable for boats 26 to 39 feet long. I've recently had it fitted to Summer Breeze my Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 29.2. I'm using 8mm galvanised chain and the anchor is an 8kg CQR Plough Anchor. The windlass is really easy to use on your own, I have a wired remote control plugged in to the bow locker so I can keep an eye on the windlass and chain while I'm using it. If you'd like to know more feel free to get in touch!

We visit the former capital of the Solomon Islands, Tulagi. We learn about its colonial history, when it was a British Protectorate. There are still many reminders of the war against the Japanese on the island, both above and below the waves. We dive "Twin Tunnels" two vertical lava tubes at the top of a seamount that drop to a cave that opens up onto the reef face. Then later we dive a sunken fishing trawler and a Catalina Seaplane that was only discovered recently.

We're sailing back from the BVI to Holland, via the Acores. Crossing the Atlantic west to east seems to be quite a bit different compared to the one and only ocean crossing we did so far with the ARC last November. Luckily Tina joins us on this trip on her way back to Sweden and she turns out to be a fantastic help in many areas. In the background Julia Andrys is guiding us through the different weather systems with daily updates and advice

It’s day 47 of confinement or day 7 of the slow de-confinement! In our fourteenth episode in this confinement series we continue with our chores, studying, and get another epic and fun workout in. We can officially swim, dive, kiteboard, surf, paddle, free dive...whatever you want in the water…almost, we can’t sail away to another island. There is still no inter island traveling but at least we can enjoy the warm waters around us. Why, allez-vous me demander !
