After that I start working on the hanging and lodging knee patterns, creating a jig to taper stacks of plywood for the laminated arms. Pat’s wife Bonny helps us out with some grinding whilst Pat casts more floors at Port Townsend Foundry. For the 1st time ever on a monohull we have met Stefan, the owner of this beautiful Hanse 575 based in Cannes and decided to rent it for 3 days and we loved it. On our last day we had +40knots of wind and crazy waves on our way back to Cannes but sadly we could not record with the GoPro. A great experience with calm wind, medium and crazy weather conditions. Sailing monohull is great and a lot of fun ! ########################################## We are a family of 3, Lithuanian and French couple currently living in Dubai UAE with our daughter born in 2020, with the dream of circumnavigating the globe with a catamaran sailing boat. In 2018 until we decided to focus on our project sailing TELLUS (Latin word meaning “Earth”). We had the chance to visit and live in many beautiful countries including China, Hongkong, Thailand, Romania, Lithuania and France with our previous jobs, that made us realize how fast the world is changing and how fast the life is going and there is no “later” than “now” for the project we have in mind. In early 2019 we took a one-week sailing courses that opened our eyes of new ways of travelling and changed our life style. In June 2020, we decided to sell everything we own, house, car and lot of stuff that we do not need anymore so that we can buy a sailboat and go for an undetermined voyage around the globe. In this episode, we travel to the Southern most island in the Ragged Island chain in search of protection from an impending storm. The Ragged's are known for having few islands that offer wind protection from every angle but thankfully, we were able to make it all the way to the bottom of the chain before it arrived and still had time for a fantastic dive upon anchoring. Not only did we see lots of sea life on our dive but our passage down was chock full of visits from sea creatures. Traveling through the Ragged Islands is like visiting an aquarium - There is so much to see and you don't have to work hard to see it - You can see hundreds and hundreds of feet in the distance, all from the cockpit. We caught four Barracuda, were visited by a pod of dolphins, and spotted a shark traveling through the clear water along side us. After one week in Marmaris, where the "old lady" got new stays and shrouds, halyards and ropes and a check up for the winches and the furling system, we sailed back to Kas. Because of a storm coming along the coast we had to stay two nights in Fethiye anchoring in front of Fethiye. Actually the cat fell over board. Or better: jumped into the water to catch some fish. Stupid! By the way, where is Captain Jack Sparrow when you need him? In the end Cingene, the dog, got her new life vest. And she really, really loves the fancy red. Doch ein Sturm auf dem Meer mit Böen bis zu 50 Knoten zwingt uns, zwei Tage in der sicheren Bucht vor Fethiye zu ankern. Die Katze fällt eines Abends über Bord. Oder besser: Springt ins Wasser, weil sie Fische fangen will. Ziemlich blöd. Der Hund versucht die Wellen zu verbellen, die an die. Bordwand plätschern. Und wo ist eigentlich Captain Jack Sparrow, wenn man ihn braucht? Merkwürdige Piratenboote haben die liebliche Insel Gemiler erobert. Und dann ist endlich Cingenes neue Schwimmweste da. Der Hund ist ganz aus dem Häuschen, ob des roten Teils und kann es gar nicht erwarten sie auszuprobieren. Naja, fast: Cingene hasst Wasser!

Test your hiking muscle endurance with this challenge! The goal is to accumulate 15 minutes of wall sitting with as few rests as possible. However, there is a catch: if you break you have to complete a penalty round of exercises before getting back into the wall sit. It is best to have two clocks going: 1 clock is running total time and 1 clock is your accumulation of 15 minutes for wall sitting. Every time you break from a wall sit, stop your wall sit clock, but keep your running total time going. Review the break penalty movements below. Das SRC Funkzeugnis ist die Grundvorraussetzung zum führen eines Funkgerätes an Bord. Für mich ist es das Wichtigste Sicherheitswerkzeug im Falle eines Notfalls. Denn ohne Funkgerät wird es schwer im Notfall Hilfe zu rufen. Ich hab es lange vor mir hergeschoben aber jetzt habe ich es im Schnelldurchlauf erledigt und mir das nötige Wissen einfach in Eigenregie beigebracht. Das ist gar nicht so schwer, denn es gibt mittlerweile viele Quellen wo man das nötige Wissen kostenlos erlernen kann. Jedoch würde ich dennoch dazu raten, die Praxisausbildung in einer Bootsschule zu machen. Die Theorie kann man sehr gut kostenlos Online lernen. Empfehlen kann ich aber die Lehrbücher von Rolf Dreyer und Klaus Schlösser. Hier bekommt das nötige Wissen komprimiert, inklusive Vokabeln und Praxisanleitungen für wirklich kleines Geld. Es lohnt sich.
