In deze video kun je meekijken met onze laatste weken in Nederland. Jord vaart nog een weekje mee en dus nemen we nóg een keer afscheid van onze Jord. En we gaan, samen met Jord, klussen bij Lars en Naomi in Maastricht. Ben vertelt hoe hij de fok heeft uitgeboomd, omdat we voor de wind varen. We gaan door de sluis bij Kornwerderzand en varen zo van het IJsselmeer de Waddenzee op. Voorlopig varen we niet meer op zoet water. Vanuit Harlingen zullen we vertrekken naar Denemarken en vanaf daar verder de Oostzee en de Baltische zee op. Daarover meer in de komende video's. Kijk je mee? Wij zijn Ben en Felia. A comunidade de velejadores é mesmo incrível e com um baita coração, sempre apoiando os outros. Eu fico muito agradecida, mas me sinto na obrigação de dar um sentido maior a isso tudo. Honestamente. eu não acho que você deve me ajudar para que eu tenha um barco, mas se me ajudar eu posso dar um sentindo maior a esse barco (assim que conseguir organizar minha vida)...meu sonho é poder usa-lo para conservação do mar, apoio `a estudantes e pesquisadores, além claro de dividir com vocês um pouco dos desafios e alegria dessa nova jornada da minha vida. Sem saber o que fazer, depois de perder o único contrato que teria esse ano, cansada de procurar trabalho na minha área (biologia e conservação marinha) e não conseguir nada, durante o lockdown, sem destino, durante a época do furacão, sem inspeção, sem experiência - deu a louca e comprei um veleiro. Duas semanas depois descobri que fui selecionada para um trabalho do outro lado do Atlântico, mas não quero largar o sonho de viver no mar. Porém a reforma foi muito mais séria do que pensava, e agora ainda tenho que equipa-lo para cruzar o Atlântico (assim posso continuar esse sonho). Pasta Ingredients: 400g of white (or a mix of white and whole wheat) flour 3/4 teaspoon of salt 4 eggs Mix ingredients in a bowl, and knead until uniform. Cook this kind of pasta for 3 - 5 minutes in boiling water. Homemade Cheese Stuffing Ingredients: 3 liters of whole milk 3 squeezed limes or lemons salt, to taste bunch of sautéed spinach Warm the milk, and separate it by adding the lime or lemon. Squeeze the curdled milk with a cloth until the mixture is dry enough to crumble. Sprinkle on salt, to taste. Combine with lightly panned spinach. Use this filling to stuff your ravioli. Whey Bread Ingredients: 1 liter of leftover warm milk whey 100g of sugar 2 - 3 tablespoons of active yeast 1 kg white (or a mix of white and whole wheat) flour 3/4 teaspoon of salt olive oil While the separated whey is still warm, combine with sugar, and then yeast, in a bowl. Wait until it froths up, then add flour and salt while stirring, until it the mixture becomes too thick to mix with a utensil. Knead by hand until smooth. Cover the entire surface of the dough with oil, and let it sit for 30 - 40 minutes. Knead again for 1 - 2 minutes, then place the oiled and flour-dusted dough in baking pans (dough can also be stored in sealed plastic or glass containers overnight). Bake in solar oven on a sunny day until golden brown on top. Tod Mun Pla/Fish Cakes/Croquettes Ingredients: freshly caught, carefully deboned, extra fish bits julienned, fresh makrut lime leaf julienned, fresh basil leaf finely chopped garlic finely chopped ginger chopped carrot chopped onion green peas 2 eggs bread crumbs or flour salt to taste olive oil Combine fish, vegetables, salt, and eggs in a bowl, mix, and form small patties with wet hands. Consistency should be firm enough to keep shape. Oil and dust the pan with flour, and cook on a sunny day in solar cooker until golden brown. One of my first GoPro Clips back from 2015. My Grandfather bought me the then new GoPro Hero 3+ for skiing. Never used it for skiing but for some catamaran action. We had just finished one season in the Formula 18 class as we switched to the non foiling Nacra 17. It was pretty dang hard! Especially double trapezing downwind. Not the downwind itself but going out on the wire after a gybe was a big challenge back then. The biggest difference between the Formula 18 class and the Nacra 17 class is that the F18 class is mainly for amateurs and in the N17 there are only pros aiming for an olympic medal. The F18 class is somewhat more helpful and kind. You can ask other sailors how to sail the boat. In the N17 everybody just mind their own business. Not that the N17 sailors are unfriendly but it is their job to sail and to perform, not their hobby. So one of our biggest mistakes was that we did not book a coach to help us learning the lines on our new boat. No one told us to pull the daggerboards downwind to make it easier, no one told Daniel how to go out on the wire downwind. A coach makes it way easier to start in a new class. But figuring out how a new boat works at your own can gives you a deep understanding and it certainly helps you to understand where people who are just starting out might have some issues. As you can see in the videos we did have them ourselves and we figured out how to overcome them.
