Petite vidéo de saison tournée dans l'atelier. Le titre dit tout : j'explique comment j'enlève la résine époxy (joint congé) de ma spatule. Cette spatule a été achetée il y a 7 ans, et malgré les essuyages à chaque utilisation, les fines couches de joint congé se sont amoncelées jusqu'à créer un dépôt de près de 1mm. Comme la spatule est plus ou moins souple, une partie de la résine collée s'est déjà cassée. Le risque est de faire tomber un éclat dans de la résine molle... Donc c'est décidé : je l'enlève, plutôt que d'acheter une spatule neuve.

I stayed in Halifax for almost two weeks from the end of September till the 12-th of October editing videos and then finally on Oct 12, 2020 I headed North.... Drove through Truro (not in this video) It was a national holiday plus Covid 19 situation - everything was closed and the streets were empty, another thing was that this town was not on a coast so I knew ahead of time that yacht club or boats (which is my passion now) I will not encounter, so I did not stick around for too long and continued my way to Pictou. Pictou is a small fishing community on a west side of the province. They say it is also a birth place of Nova Scotia as back in 1773 "Hector" ship brought the first group of settlers (originally there were 189 people onboard, but during the ocean crossing 11 died) from Scotland (Europe) to Nova Scotia, As I made it there the same day, the place was empty as well, there was no activity whatsoever, I strolled up and down the waterfront, checked the "Hector" ship (Hector museum was closed as well), met and spoke to a local resident, enjoyed the sunset and that made my day... I stayed there overnight and next morning I left the place heading further North.... I spent two days in Antigonish, nice little town, mostly visiting local public library as I was falling behind my video editing tasks.... ========================================= ABOUT ME  Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore.  I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. At the end of October, the traditional "Regatta Trogir" was held, organized by the Sailing Club Trogir. The Trogir Regatta is well known in Croatia under the original name "Trogirska regata". The regatta lasted two days, with two races run on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2020. Both days the regatta started from Saldun Bay in front of Trogir, at 11 am. The racing took place around a number of islets in Trogir's waters, on the west side of Trogir. This video was shot on Sunday, October 25, when the second part of the competition took place. The first part of the video shows the arrival of the sailboats on the regatta field and the gathering at the start. The second part shows some interesting details from the race. The start was nice, followed by good weather and a moderate breeze, but afterwards the sea was at times too calm. The regatta Trogir is "Open type" regatta. Several sailing clubs, numerous charter boats and individual boat owners from all sides participated in the regatta. This year there were fewer participants than in previous years, of course due to the corona virus, but the regatta was held in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Despite the corona, sailors and all lovers of the sea and sailing have enjoyed the rich program at sea and the events that followed the regatta. As the old phrase says in Latin: "Navigare necesse est, vivere non est necesse" - to sail is necessary; to live is not necessary. We picked up our brand-new Bali 5.4 Catamaran at the factory in Canet-en-Rousillon, France and set off on our maiden voyage around midnight on October 20th, 2019. We were delayed slightly, waiting for a weather system to move through and for the sea state to improve after the storm. Our first stop will be Cartegena in Spain, about 400 nautical Miles. It is an easy 48-hour sail, or so we thought. While our Windy App information of predicted wind direction was correct, the wind strength was way above the predicted 15 to 20 knots. The wind picked up substantially throughout the night into the morning. By midmorning we had sustained wind of 35+ knots and saw wind gusts of up to 45 knots with torrential rain. Fortunately, we had wind from behind, but the sea state was very confused with huge 10ft rollers. By this point we had a very reefed main and small jib out. As the morning progressed, gale force winds forced us to totally drop the sails as we surfed down the waves at 12+ knots under bare poles. We had an engine just ticking over to hold station and maintain steering. Thankfully we were well set up and ran before the weather without a hitch.
