Many boats have wash down hoses, normally the fitting is some garden hose type thread with a pretty brittle hose. On my boat I have a very large wash down pump from #hamiltonmarine. The "ID" of the pump and hose is 1.59". In this video I machine a fitting that will fit the large wash down hose and reduce it to something more manageable above deck, in this case 1". I have never attempted to make a barbed fitting before, and after a ton of struggling and some yelling I figured it out. In the next video I will weld this fitting to a plate which will eventually be fastened to the deck of the boat. Now let me assure you I am a general machinist, ive learned through the years and have gathered skills that make me very proficient. always push yourself!! The Annapolis Sailboat Show is the place to be in October. My father and I always attended, this would have been the 23rd going back to the 1970s. Dad unfortunately passed earlier this year, and this would be the first boat show without him, this is Toni’s 3rd and Monica’s first. There were no multihulls in the beginning as they were not widely accepted in the 1970s. Now the largest lines were the lines waiting to board the catamarans, and there was no shortage of catamarans at the show. We attended the show to view in person some of the boats that we were considering before deciding on a Seawind catamaran. The Annapolis Sailboat show is very festive and sailors and dreamers from all over the world attend. Spoiler Alert, the Seawind 1260 is still the boat for us.

The nation has approximately 340 islands, of which only nine are inhabited and connects the western chain of the Caroline Islands with parts of the Federated States of Micronesia. The island nation is a bucket list destination for many scuba divers. The waters are fiercely protected by the government hence the abundance of marine life and great diving.

Scuba Diving Lipah Bay in Amed Bali. This is a frequently visited dive site because of the usual very calm conditions and the colourful coral reef that can be explored by open water scuba divers and advanced scuba divers. The dive site is mostly a sloping reef, on you right hand side for the first half of the dive, but there is a less frequently visited coral reef, just north east of the sloping reef. Advanced divers can reach this reef after about 15min swim along the slope, then heading north east for a couple of minutes. Open water divers can unfortunately not go to this reef since it start at about 25m deep. Don't despair open water divers. The reef above 20meters is really beautiful with vibrant sea fans, colorful reef fish and some bizarre shaping sponges. There is even a small scooter and very successful coral nursery in the shallow water that you can admire. The United States had first introduced the world to the power of nuclear weaponry on August 6th 1945. Most of the world had seen the attack on Hiroshima, and three days later Nagasaki. There could be no doubt that we were in a new era of military power. But the question was whether this new power could be brought to bear in all aspects of war? Operation Crossroads would answer that question. The actual tests were carried out in Bikini Atoll, in the Marshall Islands, through July of 1946. The name Crossroads was appropriate, signifying the transition from conventional to nuclear warfare. Why Did Operation Crossroads Happen? The first thing you have to do is put your mind back in time. To try and understand was happening in 1945. The world was emerging from the end of a brutal war. Not only that but the planet had just witnessed the first nuclear bombs used in anger on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The expectation was that war was about to change. WE begin to work again on the boat, well actually just Warren begins to work on the new projects and upgrades for our New Fountaine Pajot Helia 44. We have a list of upgrades and improvements that we would like to have done on VA, many similar to the projects that were done on Evolias. Lessons we learned and things we would like better, so Warren is busy at it again. However, this time he is all on his own. While I have gone home to Colorado for the summer, Warren is left to starting a long list of upgrades by himself in the middle of the Mexican summer. Zeitgleich mit unserer Abreise aus Griechenland haben wir 2018 unseren YouTube-Kanal „ANNAMERA SAILING“ gegründet, in dem wir Euch mit unseren Segel-Dokus auf dem Laufenden halten. Tekneyi tekrar karaya çektiğimizde kıç tarafta, gövdede de çürükler olduğunu fark ettik. Bu sefer parçaların tamamen değiştirilmesi gerekiyor. Yaşadığımız stresi kelimelerle ifade etmek mümkün değil. Hem iskele hem de sancak tarafında 2 büyük delik açıyoruz ve sonrası çorap söküğü gibi geliyor.
