The Maestro layout gives the entire starboard hull to the owners: an island queen berth aft, a desk and dressing area midships, and a head with a separate shower stall forward. Up in the saloon, the galley sits right by the sliding glass door and serves the cockpit table as easily as the inside one, while the U shaped settee seats six with a view out the forward windows. Berret Racoupeau drew the Lucia 40 to sail well and live large. Reverse bows, fixed keels and shoal draft make her easy to handle and right at home on the Chesapeake, the ICW and the Bahamas banks. Every line runs to the raised starboard helm, so a couple can sail her without calling for crew. At anchor, the generator runs air conditioning in both hulls and the saloon, and solar handles the quiet hours.
