Better Sunflower Oil!) Sift flour on the table, make a small pit in the middle, add all the other ingredients and knit it until it becomes a very soft dough. Or you can also use your kitchen aid with a dough hook to do this job for you. Afterwards you oil the dough, cover it and let it sit for 30 min. Now you roll the dough until it has the size of a plate, oil it again and let it sit for another 5 min. Now the tough work starts – you have to roll the dough so thin that you are able to read a newspaper through it. You have to use your hands for this. As a small hint, take off your rings, it will make this work way easier! Now you can fill the dough (2/3). Brush butter/fat on the rest (1/3), furl it, roll it, brush it with butter/fat from the outside and put it in the oven. After 45min, 200 degrees, it’s ready. Strudel filling First version: Apples 10 Big Apples (already sliced very thin) 80g Granulated Sugar Cinnamon 100g Breadcrumbs 80g Butter Raisins 120g Cream (Rahm) Brown the Breadcrumbs in butter, let it cool down, add sugar and cinnamon. Cover 2/3 of the dough with the cream (Rahm), put the roasted breadcrumbs on top, spread the apples and the raisins over it. Brush the rest of the dough with butter/fat (1/3), furl it, roll it, and brush it with butter/fat from the outside again.

In this episode we sail the whole Southern coast of England spending time in the Solent, the mecca of British sailing. Play with seals in a fantastic anchorage on the Isle of Wight, Newtown Creek. We visit some of our favorite UK ports such as Dartmouth, Salcombe and Torbay. This is a shake down cruise to prepare to take on the Bay of Biscay sailing from Plymouth direct to Bayona in Spain. With the children leaving home we decided to sell our house in the UK and buy a boat in Holland. After two years refitting our Hans Christian 48T we have now set off a world voyage. We are retiring early because we want to attempt this voyage in good health and while we're fit and strong enough to really enjoy it. We will have to work a bit as we go until we can draw our pensions and we honestly don't know how well that will work. In our real lives we are journalists and filmmakers so it was only natural for use to document our travels by filming the journey. We aim to produce a professional standard vlog of the whole trip and try to give the viewer a real insight into what it's like to live and travel on a 48 foot sailboat. Our first aim is to sail South. After a winter getting iced in on the Markermeer in the Netherlands Judy insisted on warmer weather! So if you start from Episode 1 you will see us setting off from Eastbourne in the UK and travelling along the South Coast to Plymouth to enter a rally called ARC Portugal. Our first goal is to reach the Mediterranean and that means sailing across the infamous Bay of Biscay. This was a very good test for our boat as the bay lived up to it's fearsome reputation and split the whole fleet with a force 10 storm. Storm Miguel cut through our path and meant we had to run to mainland Spain to escape the massive seas and fearsome winds. Six boats couldn't make it in time and spent several very uncomfortable days at sea. The fleet had several broken boats, but thankfully no injured people. And this was just Episode 2! The excitement continued for the rest of our trip to the Med. Dolphins played in our bow wave, we sampled fantastic local foods and wines, great port in Porto! We found some beautiful anchorages and visit some wonderful historic places like Lisbon in Portugal, Cadiz in Spain and the fascinating port of Gibraltar. We will show you what it's like to winter in the Mediterranean, how much it all costs and give hints and tips on where to go how to save money with your boat and the places you stay. We are also talking to other sailors. After years of broadcasting journalism we know how to get peoples stories and we regularly film other sailors to show their boats and lifestyle as well as ours. We can always learn from others. Our long term plan is to spend a few years in the Mediterranean, on our list of place we want to visit are; Mallorca, Malta, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Italy, Tunisia, to name but a few! When we feel we've seen the best of what the Med has to offer we will cross the Atlantic to the Caribbean, and on to the Pacific. #sailingfairisle

A young capuchin monkey survives a shock of a 50 KVA transformer. Luckily it recovered in a few hours and seemed to be okay. Cute. Jan 31st: Believe it or not, but one week after Burnie got electrocuted, an adult capuchin monkey killed himself at exact the same spot! I didn't catch it on camera, though. My wife heard the explosion, and when we took a look, the monkey was laying stiff and dead on the transformer...

Why would you sail your home up a jungle river in French Guyana? Well, because it’s fun obviously! One of our favorite things is exploring off the beaten path in Delos, and taking our sailing home up a fresh water river is too cool to pass up. We get Delos way back off of a small tributary and anchor up for some dinghy exploring in Maggie. We notice that the animals are extremely skittish, and and find a patch of forest that’s been utterly destroyed by illegal logging. We return to the town of Maroni to seek answers and try to figure out what’s going on. We tour a traditional village in Suriname, witness the local carnival, and finally end up a a wildlife sanctuary where we get some answers about what’s going on with the ultra-skittish monkeys. Then when our trip to French Guyana just couldn’t get any more random we get access to the European Spaceport and are able to film an Ariane V rocket launch! Incredible!!! This week we are in vacation mode making our way through the Society Islands of French Polynesia. Daniel's parents are staying on board and we are truly living our best life. We island hop from Moorea all the way to Bora Bora before Daniel's parents have to head back home. After they leave we make it through some super shallow water and get up close and personal to the famous Bora Bora bungalows. We have fun tubing around the island waiting for the winds to die down. Sailing in Madagascar isn't just a sport, it's a way of life for the local people! With our time winding down we prepare Delos to sail to South Africa to escape the coming cyclone season. On our way we take our Friend Florent to a remote village to check out a pirogue he's building. The village is very traditional and specialize in building the sailing pirogues we are so fascinated with. After making friends with a few of the locals they take us sailing on thei pirogue and we reciprocate by giving them a ride on Delos. They have never seen a yacht before and it blows their minds :) Just wanted to mention that most of the music from this video was actually recorded *LIVE* in Madagascar by some very cool people we met at parties and such.
