France Triumphs at 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championships After days of high-stakes offshore racing, dramatic twists, and an unforgettable finale, the 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championships reached its conclusion in Cowes. Across the championship, 21 teams representing 14 nations lined up to compete, with 11 crews from four continents qualifying for the 114nm Final. In light and tactical conditions, France’s Théa Khelif and Thomas André (FRA 1) mastered the shifting breeze to be crowned World Champions. Taking the runner-up spot after a thrilling finish were Great Britain’s Willow Bland & Zeb Fellows (GBR 2), Zeb was the youngest sailor at the worlds, just 18 years of age. Domi Knuppel & Federico Waksman (URU) proudly securing third place — Uruguay’s first podium at this level. The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), in collaboration with Cap-Regatta and supported by LGL and Jeanneau, hosted this World Sailing-recognised championship in supplied Sun Fast 30 One Design yachts. In Episode 61 of the Sailing Goat Series, it’s all about family, food, and fishing! We sail from Meganisi to Nidri to welcome the blonde’s parents, who came to visit us in Greece—bringing with them a boatload of Italian food (literally!). From pasta and olive oil to cheese and wine, our galley has never looked better. Due to some bad weather on the first day, the blonde stays at a nearby campground with her parents, while I hold down the fort on the boat to keep things safe. Two days later, they all come aboard, and we spend a beautiful five days sailing, fishing, and enjoying life at sea, despite some variable weather conditions. After saying goodbye to her parents, we raise the sails once again and set course south toward the Corinthian Canal. Our next leg takes us from Nidri to Petalas, carried by a perfect 20-knot following breeze, making for a smooth and satisfying sail. 🍝 Italian Food Galore: The blonde’s parents arrive—and they don’t come empty-handed. It was a bittersweet moment as we said goodbye to our crew — Swaroop and Apoorva returned to Switzerland, and Kaeya headed back to India. With the boat suddenly quiet, it took us a few days to adjust to life with just the two of us again. Once the farewells were behind us, it was time to get Reeva ready for new adventures. We stocked up on provisions, refilled our gas cylinders (with some creative jugaad!), and serviced our 35-year-old engine as part of its 300-hour maintenance. Soon, we set sail for Tioman Island, one of Malaysia’s most beautiful destinations, famous for its turquoise waters, turtles, and coral reefs. Along the way, we navigated busy shipping lanes near Johor Bahru, dodged merchant vessels, and found joy in the small moments of couple sailing life. In this episode, we unload months of collected gear and dive into some major upgrades: new Victron electronics, solar controllers, panels, heavy-duty power leads, and a brand-new AC TIG welder for aluminum repairs. From corrosion pits and rudder repairs to future cockpit projects and watermaker fittings, this welder is about to earn its keep. We also tackle one of our biggest past problems shore power and finally test whether we can run the compressor properly for sandblasting and painting. After a long passage, we’ve finally made it to Ambon… but there’s no time to relax! With cupboards running low and the boat needing supplies, we dive headfirst into four hectic days of errands in a foreign country. Grocery shopping becomes an adventure of its own, fuel runs mean hauling endless jerry cans, and spare parts are high on the mission list. Luckily, we’ve found the perfect base — tied up to an incredible fishing pontoon/restaurant that’s become a safe haven for yachties in an area where anchoring can be seriously tricky. In between the chaos, we ditch the kids for a day and jump on a scooter mission through the backstreets of Ambon. We get completely lost, weaving through people’s houses, riding through kitchens and laundries, before stumbling across a hidden lush rainforest waterfall right in the middle of the city! Offered for sale for her original owner, Renegade would suit those considering a new order. The German built Dehler 34 beautifully and successfully blends an agile and responsive performance yacht with a high-quality cruising platform. This is a higher end brand in which its quality becomes obvious when stepping on board. Renegade boasts a very solid list of upgrades chosen to both maximize speed while also offering a very easy to sail package. The performance rig and rudder were chosen along with rod rigging. The upgraded twin black Carbonautica steering wheels nicely compliment these options. Upgraded main and furling genoa are by Quantum plus there is a furling Gennaker from Norths. For ease there is a below deck auto-pilot and the mainsheet winches are electric – the main halyard can be led back and raised with the push of a button. Navigation is by B&G with plotter in the cockpit. There is a large, battened shade awning. Below decks she’s a stunner and a huge step above most cruiser racers. This is a very sensible two cabin layout with master cabin forward with a semi-open bulkhead which increases space. The large head and shower feature the Dehler ‘uni door’ system which separates the shower space and vanity. Renegade was hauled out and anti-fouled in October ’25 and has logged only around 100 engine hours. This one owner vessel is in genuinely sail away condition.
