What a nightmare this was!! This is the second day of our passage sailing from Malaysia to Indonesia https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode, things take a drastic turn for the worse. After working so hard to escape the clutches, lockdowns and rules in Malaysia regarding travel, we are on our way to the next chapter in our lives and are on our second day of passage to Inodnesia. After 30 hours of glorious sailing we had made massive in roads on our 150 nautical mile crossing across the Malacca Strait. Then, in the middle of the shipping channel, surrounded by ships, things go horribly wrong. If you are enjoying our videos, sign up to Patreon to help support us, our production and the adventures. Get even MORE action by becoming a Patron! Instant access to bonus videos, Patreon only updates, our private Facebook group, and more more! https://www.patreon.com/mjsailing As we know our last few days in the Azores are coming upon us, we take a little time away from the boat for one last opportunity to see what makes these islands so special. Next to our marina in Praia da Vitoria, we take the first sunny evening we've had in months to hike to the top of a monument overlooking the harbor. A few days later we rent a car to get further inland, for provisioning, errand running, and a little sightseeing. The first stop of the day is the Serra do Cume. An overlook just outside of Praia which sits over vast green farmland, and even has a platform to make you feel like you're floating hundred of feet above the earth. Our other big sightseeing stop for the day is the Algar do Carvão. A set of emptied out lava tubes in the center of the island. This set is unique because the lava escaped through a secondary vent, preserving the magma chambers and allowing them to be toured without thermal dangers. The next morning, we toss off the lines and begin our 1,200 mile journey from the Azores to Ireland. We set off in perfect conditions, and even though quite a big rain shower passes over the island and chases us down, it can't dampen our mood as we begin to make our miles north. Much love from The Azores! Jessica, Matt & Georgie Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. These amazing supporters help keep us on the boat, our camera equipment up to date, and the videos coming. Hi, In this video we are showing the full renovation of our 37ft narrowboat Grayswood to date. These upgrades have been carried out during August 2019 and May 2020. Our boat isnt yet complete as we still have a couple of jobs still to do. We hope you enjoy this video. Kayleigh & Stephen. We’re Stephen and Kayleigh an English/ Scottish couple and along with our two dogs Hugo and Coco we will full time on board our 37ft narrowboat Grayswood. After living nearly two years in our self-converted campervan we decided we needed more space. So, as a compromise (Ste wanted a boat, I was happy in the van) we decided we would purchase a boat after spending some time on our friend’s narrowboat. Grayswood was conveniently located less that 5 minutes from my work and was found kind of by accident. I was visiting a friend who was staying in Aston Marina and whilst we were out walking the dogs, I seen the advert for Grayswood. I said to my friend “that looks a nice boat” and as I said it the marina manager appeared and asked if we would like a look inside. Naturally we did. After looking inside, the boat I texted Ste and told him I’d found us a boat. We made an offer after going back for a second viewing, after some negotiations within a week she was ours pending a survey. She was hauled out the following week and the survey went well. We kept her out on the hard standing for a further six weeks whilst we renovated the insides including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom. Subscribe and welcome aboard - follow us on our narrowboat journey, where we will show what its really like living on the English waterways. New video released every Monday. Use code MJSAILING for an additional 10% for the Early Black Friday Sale https://establishedtitles.com/mjsailing and help out our channel. In today's video though, we take a tour of the progress we've been able to make up to this point - kind of the make or break it point of temperatures now cooling too low for us to be able to work with resins without using the assistance of heaters. In some areas this is very easy, and others....well, I guess we'll be finding that out as soon as we return from Amsterdam. I try to show the completed areas from Max Cruise's hull 04 & 06, to give an idea of what we still have left to do. And spoiler alert, it's a lot. But, our schedule is now really opening up for the remainder of fall and through the winter, so hopefully we'll be able to get very full work weeks in and have a lot completed by the time temperatures warm up again next year for us to be able to bond the cabin top on. We hope you enjoy the tour, and please let us know of any tips or tricks you know that will help us speed the process along! :D We hope you enjoy! It was a week before the start date of the race event when news of the unfolding civil war in New Caledonia aired. A state of emergency was issued, which left the race committee no choice but to cancel. While the tensions built on the tropical island, it felt almost wrong that from just across the way in Australia, we could start throwing around other options for an alternative training sail…which led us to this mountainous spec in the middle of the ocean known as Lord Howe Island. Head to https://betterhelp.com/delos for 10% off your first month of therapy with our paid partner, BetterHelp. Make your mental health and growth a positive focus this year. Happy Friday friends! We're diving into a BRAIN BENDER of a project in this week's episode. The helm station is about to come alive, and it's turning out to be quite the game of Tetris to try and fit all the gadgets and screens that we will use to sail around in the world into a rather compact space. But with Kazza's knack for organizing, Dan's mastery with the welder, and my nerd-mode fully activated, we manage to come up with something super functional that looks pretty dang sexy! The helm station is one of those spots on the boat that can really make or break how fun, comfortable, and practical a boat is to sail, so it's something that we've put soooo much thought into. We really take you through what the design process really looks like in this one, so we hope you enjoy this glimpse into how we we're able to go from some blank stares and head scratches to something sooooo freaking cool! fishing during atlantic crossing - sailing the Atlantic Ocean with our Beneteau Oceanis. It was probably our highlight of our Atlantic crossing. Sailing the Atlantic Ocean was definitely a once in lifetime experience and to actually be crossing the atlantic ocean not by airplane but with our Beneteau Oceanis - really sailing atlantic crossing - was just a dream. We caught so many fish while fishing in the Atlantic Ocean and in our not so typical atlantic crossing sail boat and doing it all while sailing the atlantic waves - which are impressive - and watching mesmerizing atlantic sunsets. Sailing oceans we had done it, but truly crossing an ocean was something different. Could we call ourselves now atlantic cruisers with us just only sailing the southern atlantic crossing? We think we aren’t there yet and can’t wait for our next atlantic waves and adventure of sailing the atlantic. 🚨 Liiike and help us to create more videos ⛵ support us on Patreon: http://bit.ly/3d7ZoWb PS: a like 👍 does REALLY help=) Oh: the fish method is called IKE JIME, a patron of ours recommended it to us and it is really amazing! Hello Everyone! This week we are finally leaving Clarencetown, Long Island. It was a bittersweet moment, but it was time to move on. We left with Spear It Animal on what we thought was a good wind day, but ended up struggling to have good tacks to make it to Landrail Point in the Crooked Islands. We ended up motor sailing the last half, but we finally made it. We had some fun exploring a lighthouse and made some local friends who showed us a really good time on multiple occasions. Anywhere we go, we always find amazing people!!! Want to support our travels and get an early peak at our videos?!
