On our first night we stay at Turneffe atoll where we are attacked by mosquitos and seek refuge in the incredibly clear water of Lighthouse Reef. One year Review of TruGreen service, so what did we like and dislike about their service. We tried other things before calling TruGreen like Scott's 3 -n- 1 for dollar weeds, and Kentucky Blue Grass to try to get rid of dollar weeds and fill bare spots. TruGreen so far has been the best for getting rid of Dollar Weeds, but the quality of the service changes every service because of employees either doing a great job or not so great. We snorkel but unfortunately we find find nothing to eat underwater. Back on board, I tackle a boat repair project, building a new hatch cover for my aft cabin. Since it’s rainy season, I have to take a bottle break from my outside project and decide to build a cute woven shelf basket from recycled ocean plastic. Making the same mistake twice... https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we arrive to the island of Simeulue in Indonesia. The island is governed by Sharia law and as we know this is the law of the qaran, we do not know what it means for tourists. To be on the safe side Bonita is well covered on arrival not to offend anyone. This anchorage sucks. Even though the bay is long, skinny, shallow and with a sand bottom, it is open to the South West and the Indian Ocean. Meaning any swell goes directly into the bay. To combat the roll, we set a stern anchor... Yosh goes surfing up the point one afternoon and whilst in the waves, noticed Flubber drifting on pass. Whats all this about? The anchor had come off the rode... Losing one anchor, sure it happens. Losing 2 anchors in 2 days... Come On! Losing our anchor twice is un heard of! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra where we are living the island life and chasing the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we are returning to Thailand in the coming months and then taking the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south to Chagos and across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! The adventure is just beginning! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World!
