Shore diving Bonaire in February 2024. Most dives filmed were in the north, mainly between Weber's Joy and Karpata. Reef health down south (ie Alice in Wonderland) was very poor. Will make a follow-up video on coral damage from climate change and coral disease spreading rapidly throughout the island. Tons of young turtles in the shallows above the reefs. They were extremely curious and playful :) Word of caution, most of the "drift dives" are committed dives, there is no feasible exit until the final destination. Requires common sense, some physical ability, and underwater navigation prowess. Enjoy.

Join the adventurous crew as they sail across the Irish Sea skippered by Aspiring Yachtmaster Paul from Finland / UK. Early morning after a gale 8, we set sail across the Irish Sea on a YM qualifying passage to Belfast. Our aspiring Yachtmaster safely skippered us around the tidal races of the Mull of Galloway to the city pontoon in Belfast, next to the titanic shipyard. From Belfast we headed north to the wonderful island of Islam, with is many distilleries. The passage was another YM qualifying passage for Paul. We got strong winds F6, guesting 7 and wind against tide in the north channel, so Saga47swan had a great time in the big waves. After a two day layover in Port Ellen due to a gale F9, we set sail in wonderful sunshine and sail past the Babs of Jura and past the great Race. On this day passage Kenneth our Danish sailor was navigating some of the strongest tidal areas of the uk, see video with lots of eddies. We spend the next few days exploring the area around Mull and Oban , staying at anchor and exploring onshore. We highly recommend a visit to the bridge over the Atlantic and its lovely pub. Loch Spelve didn’t disappoint with it tricky entrance, calling for eye ball navigation and a rock solid pilotage plan. we arrive at our new boat in Guatemala, and quickly realize she is in need of much more work than we first thought so we start getting to work having the engines taken out and installing solar and new navigation equipment. two friends fly out to help Rome is an electrician from Switzerland and a very helpful guy to have on board, and jay an injured veteran from the UK who wants to get into sailing. with out their help we would have never been ready in April to set sail. we start in Nanajuana marina and eventually make our way out of the Rio Dulce towards our sailing destination Honduras, with the aim of getting to Panama before hurricane season, but will the boat break before we get there will hurricane season set in before we arrive.

The hurricane season is here! We had so much fun during our adventures in Bahamas, but we're sad that we'll have to leave this beautiful place soon. This week we had a blast exploring Nunjack Cay. #15 - Un trou dans la coque ?! 😱 Aujourd’hui, on joue de la scie cloche et on perce la coque ! (Mais promis, c’est volontaire 😅). Objectif : installer un passe coque sous l’évier de la cuisine pour l’évacuation. Pendant ce temps, c’est grand ménage à bord : nettoyage des cales de la cabine, du plafond et même un peu d’arrachage de vieux vaigrage. Je pars aussi en quête d’une aube de loch à la Clinique du Bateau, mais mauvaise nouvelle : la marque Navman ne se fait plus… 😕 Et pendant que je dépose mes batteries neuves au formateur de l’INM, les stagiaires s’activent sur mon moteur, réalisent divers essais et avancent sur leur apprentissage. Bref, encore une 1/2 journée bien remplie sur mon Élisabethan 29 ! 🚤💨 Hier, j’ai passé la journée à attendre la livraison de mes batteries à la maison… qui, évidemment, a pris son temps ! Du coup, j’en ai profité pour bosser sur du web design pour ma chaîne YouTube. J’ai fait une intro et une conclusion pour mes vidéos, créé des miniatures pour les playlists… Bref, j’ai optimisé tout ça pour que ce soit plus clair et plus joli ! In this episode of Sailing Mirage, I sail solo from Acklins Island to Long Island, anchoring safely in Clarence Town after a 60 nautical mile passage. Once again, the Bahamas delivered - a powerful downwind sail with winds reaching 25 knots. Mirage truly came alive, lifting and flying effortlessly over the deep blue Bahamian waters. These are the moments when everything feels perfectly aligned - boat, wind, sea, and mind. During the sail, I got a bit sentimental and shared stories about friends and fellow sailors I’ve met over the years. Long passages have a way of bringing memories back - people, conversations, shared anchorages, and brief crossings of paths that somehow leave a lasting mark. Sailing alone gives space for reflection. With the wind pushing hard from behind and miles of open water ahead, thoughts drift naturally to those who’ve been part of the journey - even if only for a short time. The day ended with a safe and peaceful anchorage in Clarence Town, a perfect place to slow down, breathe, and appreciate just how lucky this life at sea really is.
