It is a lap of the globe starting and finishing in Barcelona (Spain). This is an extreme sporting challenge and ocean adventure that puts human limits to the test. Organised by the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB), the regatta is part of the IMOCA Ocean Masters World Championships. The start of the race is on the 31st of December 2014 at 13h00, with the starting line positioned opposite the W Barcelona hotel at the city's port. The finishes are forecasted for the end of March 2015. The boats cover some 23,000 nautical miles in a circumnavigation from Barcelona to Barcelona, putting the capes of Good Hope (South Africa), Leeuwin (Australia) and Horn (Chile) to port (their left) and the Antarctic to starboard (their right). During the three months of racing the skippers make their way through 12 climate zones and cross 3 oceans, as well as sailing in the Mediterranean Sea. The crews race on IMOCA 60 yachts, 18 metres in length. Their masts can reach up to a maximum of 29 metres, as high as a building with ten floors.

By taking part in his first crewed record attempt, Francis Joyon could well write a new chapter in this saga… After a fantastic race, Peyron won the tenth edition of the Route du Rhum with a time of 7 days, 15 hours 8 minutes and 32 seconds – a new race record! Thomas Bühner, the German star chef, joined the LSG Group's culinary network in 2019 and has been working closely with its Global Culinary Leadership Team ever since then. In addition, Bühner serves as a culinary ambassador for the LSG Group, and will soon be a guest at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg. During a test cooking session for the tradeshow, he granted us access to his private home in Osnabrück. Get to know him a little better in our video profile! Some additional facts about Thomas Bühner: He has more than 30 years of experience in top gastronomy, was the head chef at the restaurant La Vie from 2006 to 2018, awarded three Michelin stars and 19 points in Gault Millau. He also travels the world as a consultant, keynote speaker and guest chef. After his apprenticeship as a chef at the Schweizer Haus in Paderborn, he gained experience with Günter Scherrer, Jörg Müller and finally as Chef de Partie with Harald Wohlfahrt. In 1991, Bühner took over the position of chef de cuisine at Restaurant La Table in Dortmund for the first time. Five years later, he was awarded his first Michelin star there, followed by a second one in 1998. In 2006, he moved to the Osnabrück-based restaurant La Vie as managing director and chef de cuisine, which was awarded three Michelin stars in 2011. The LSG Group is the world’s leading provider of end-to-end onboard products and services for the travel industry. Its expert brands are: LSG Sky Chefs (airline catering and hospitality, lounges), Retail inMotion (onboard retail), SPIRIANT (onboard equipment) and Evertaste (convenience food).

After a rolly start down to the Exumas, we're off to Rock Sound to hide out from the upcoming northerly mini-storm. We leave Highbourne Cay and have a perfect sail across the Exuma Sound trying our luck fishing for something big! We meet new friends (@WildlyIntrepid ), pre corona, and explore some awesome caves:D We couldn't have been luckier to find our buddy boat at this time, not knowing what was coming and how the world would change... Writing this, on April 4th, 2020 - we are still with them, self-quarantined together, and consider them family. Thank you Wildy Intrepid (!!! Barrett and I take the Javelina out to the Pinyons of Anza Borrego State Park. We camp off the S-2, in about 4000 feet of elevation. We took Pinyon Mountain Road from S-2 and headed east. It was perfect for a warm, late spring weekend. This trail ultimately leads to Pinyon Drop. An unfortunate mistake of forgetting my motorcycle key leads to me learning how to hot-wire my bike!! In this episode, we start wrapping up our projects on Kaizen while waiting for Tropical storm ETA to pass. Unfortunately for us, our head (toilet) decides to stop working and Dallin tries to save it. After ETA passes with minimal damage we put on our boat's name and lettering. We also get our new chain and galvanized chain marked and installed back on Kaizen.
