It’s a good day for a remodel! In episode 54, I’ll share a progress update with you about our lovely project boat. Be sure to watch, Marine Galley Rebuild - Shelving and Woodwork We are finally moving forward! We are rebuilding the cabinet where the Domestic Electric Cooler and our Bluetti Powerpack will be installed, the baseboard for the cabinets and a temporary countertop. The challenging part of this project is all the curves that needed to be cut precisely to get a tight fit. I admit, I have very little experience with wood working. But, it was worth the learning curve…I was able to use new tools like the curve tool, a laser level cube, and even the old pieces of galley to get the dimensions and curves just right for installation. It has been a really cold but quiet couple of weeks as far as wind is concerned. Today there's literally nothing blowing so the outboard is on and we go and find something to do on the lake!! It's still cold so I thought i'd test both pairs of gloves that I use to see which one is best (Links below). I don;t use the cheaper swim gloves much as they are super slippy and no good for holding onto lines. The Ora gloves, I originally bought for my RYA Powerboat Level 2 course and they're a nice pair of gloves. We then go and do some mooring practise on the Bala adventure centre jetty but have to be super careful in the shallow lake waters at the moment. There are rocks everywhere! Although I do faff about a bit, I decided to leave the whole video of the mooring in just to show you how easy it is to miss the jetty but also get back on track. I literally had only a few inches under the propeller so had to be really careful.
