The Meri Crew's cruising channel! We are a couple who love spending time aboard our boat and doing all the fun things that are part of cruising: sailing (of course), visiting new places and meeting new people, snorkeling, scuba diving, kiteboarding, fishing, hiking, exploring, spending time outdoors and watching the sun rise and set over the water. Our first couple years we sailed on a Tartan 4100 and spent time on the Chesapeake Bay, down the east coast to Florida, to the Bahamas and back a couple times, and up the east coast to Maine and as far as Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. In 2020 we traded boats and now sail on an Antares 44i catamaran. Our adventures continue as we go further north and south, up to Newfoundland and down to the Caribbean. We hope you enjoy following our adventures. This channel is NOT a commercial endeavor. We just make these videos for the enjoyment of our friends and family, and anyone else who might enjoy watching.

Film B ist filmisch absolut identlisch mit Film A, hat aber eine andere Hintergrundmusik für Menschen mit anderem Musikgeschmack. Statt Filmmusik von "Band of Brothers" (A) läuft hier im Hintergrund Musik von Richard Wagner - allerdings sehr dezent und ohne Worte, bzw. Gesang. Ich mag beides.... (und anderes vermutlich nichts von beidem). Such is life. Es kommt ja auch auf die Segelbilder an, oder? (Ja, und eine bessere Kamera mit externem Mikrofon mit Windschutz besorge ich mir auch noch.....versprochen....)

Wenig Wind und wenig Welle und dann auch noch kein richtiger Sonnenschein? Es hat trotzdem Spaß gemacht und einige Wingfoiler scheinen heimlich auf der Ostsee trainiert zu haben: Es gab neue Moves zu sehen. Durchgefoilte bzw. geflogene 360er und dann noch Wenden mit Übergabe hinter dem Rücken. Erinnerungen an die Tanzstunde kamen auf - für Fortgeschrittene versteht sich. Ist ja klar, dass hier der Kavalier alter Schule Vorteile beim Wingsurfen hat. Bei der eleganten Fußarbeit über dem Foil bekommt der Begriff Shuffleboard eine ganz neue Bedeutung. Und die Wings von Vayu scheinen ebenfalls im Kommen zu sein ... This week's episode is the true story of how our friends, a sailing family aboard 'Arco Iris' became shipwrecked on the remote island of Ilha dos Lençois, just a day after we had successfully navigated the same river system. They lost their home, their boat and nearly everything they owned. Showing remarkable resilience they managed to escape the island of Lençois aboard an open top catamaran by bartering what they could salvage from the wreck. The Catamaran delivered them, soaked and salty, to the mainland, where they exchanged their $25 000 salvaged water maker, for a 500 mile ride in the back of a ute to reach the safety of our floating home in Belem.
