We arrived in Fiji three weeks ago and ran straight into the funnest part of boating. The boatwork. :) Our generator blew up on us at Minerva reef so in the first two weeks of being here we craned the entire generator out of the boat, fixed it, and then craned it back in and hooked it back up. I had never taken a generator out of a boat before but we figured it out without to many major problems. Our starboard engine was also leaking fuel from a cracked injector (something happened to it while in the yard in NZ). A new one arrived via Fedex from the US and I figured out how to remove the old one and install the new one mostly headache free again! I am finding boatwork very satisfying. While waiting for the generator to come back we made it out to Musket Cove for the week-end and I got to test drive my new scooter. :) Sooooo fun! The kids are loving Fiji so far. There are tons of kids in the one anchorage we've made it to so far! We're all looking forward to more exploring.

While visiting the 126th Canton fair held in Guangzhou, I had a few days between exhibition phases to visit the area. It was easy to travel by public transport (bus/metro) to these 5 cultural attractions: Xiexiu Park, Mausoleum Nanyue King, Sun Yat Sen Memorial park, Temple of 6 Banyan Trees and the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall.

HALAS’ colourful history begins in 1914 when she was purchased by the British Government. However due to the outbreak of World War I, the British Government refused to allow her delivery. She arrived in Turkish waters in 1918. In 1923 her name was officially changed to HALAS (meaning deliverance), and she was used as a passenger ferry on the Bosphorus for 65 years. 1984 saw her sold into the private sector and converted into a luxury cruiser. From 2008 to 2010 she was entirely and extensively renovated, and since this time she has been serving as a fully–licensed luxury coastal cruiser available in Istanbul and along the south-western coastline of Turkey. With her idyllic setting and impeccable services, Halas offers the perfect atmosphere for exclusive weddings or corporate events for up to 120 people. 12 luxuriously appointed cabins accommodate up to 24 guests, while the principal indoor dining room can seat up to 60 people, with additional outdoor space for another 42 people. At the 11th of June 2020 our main mast was lifted back on the ship after one month of maintenance. Before that, the original coin for luck was putted back at the mast foot by Stefan Björk, owner of Greencarrier Group, accompanied by our CEO Peter Alexandersson. It was a symbolic day, because it was exactly 25 years ago that the keel of the ship was laid.

This time I want to show you the toughest conditions I have on camera. The maximum Windspeed was about 32 Knots and the waves were gigantic. We were racing at the World Cup Final in Melbourne 2016. They needed that racing day for the status of a World Cup so they decided to sent us out. We came all the way from literally the other side of the world to sail that event so we went out, regardless that the conditions were way beyond our skill level. Unfortunately during the second race we capsized and the mast broke. I still do not know why. Usually carbon masts break at the impact. Diamonds and Cunningham were full on but still very unusual... Sad to say that it costed us our only possibility to sail a medal race. Why we capsized: We were close to the upwind mark when we capsized. Barbara wanted to pull the leeward daggerboard, a strategy in extreme conditions for bearing away. Unfortunately a big wave hit us and the boat capsized in the blink of an eye. April 2019 Maybe I should have titled this video "Throwback Thursday"? Back when we had open borders and could sail wherever we wanted, we made the jump to the Abacos to hang out with friends, listen to bands and dance, ride on swings, and snorkel. What we didn't expect was to drag 200+ feet at anchor. At 3am of course. After the dramas of Day 1 of Sail GP Sydney when the Japanese were left ‘bowless’ on their starboard side, Nathan Outteridge made the most of Ben Ainslie’s offer to borrow the British platform for Day 2. While The Japanese team just missed out on a place in the finals, Nathan revealed some entertaining details about the minor tweaks they had to do to the controls on the British boat to make it feel more like home.

Après avoir embarqué Oli et Léa sur le voilier, on quitte Astakos et la "vraie Grèce". Le canal de Corinthe est fermé donc nous devons passer par le Sud du Péloponèse pour rejoindre les Cyclades avec ce nouvel équipage. Un coup de vent et une forte pluie nous bloque à Poros quelques jours puis on reprend la mer vers le Sud et profitant de quelques pépites de la nature sur le passage. Arrivés à Pilos on se sent bien... puis le quai est gratuit donc bon, on y reste. Les jours passent vite et Oli doit déjà rentrer, on se questionne sur un endroit qui conviendrais à tout le monde puis on se met d'acord sur la Crète.
