Hi Everyone! This is our oil change video for our 2004 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo (X50). Sorry it is so long 😉 It is the “complete” process including draining both turbo reservoirs, pre-lubing with oil in the filter housing, and pulling the fuel pump fuse to clear the fuel rails in order to pre-lube at the end. That makes for a lot of steps! It is pretty straight forward and should take less than an hour depending on the steps you preform. I believe this also applies to the 997.1 (Mezger) but you may not have the turbo reservoir plugs so you can skip that step 😊. If you have any questions or comments (or if I left anything out), please leave them below. Always consult your Owner’s Manual/Shop Manual to verify all steps and values. The following steps are optional: • Pulling the fuel pump relay for pre-lube after refilling the oil. • Pouring oil down the filter container. • Draining the two turbo reservoirs. Welcome to our first episode of DRENCHED! Seriously, thank you so much for watching. In this episode, we introduce ourselves a little bit, pack up our ridiculous amount of dive and camera gear, then hop on a plane and head over to the oh so beautiful island of Oahu in Hawaii. Once we arrive we don’t waste any time getting in the water. We go out for a day of diving with Island Divers where we start the day off with a wreck called LCU, short for landing craft utility. The LCU has been underwater for about 20 years and sits in 80 feet of water. It was sunk purposefully to become an artificial reef and create new habitat for sea critters. This dive treats us to some great marine life including tiny nudibranchs, spotted eagle rays, turtles, and some old boots! Then we hop back on the boat and head over to a site called Sea Caves which is located just around the corner from Oahu’s famous Hanauma Bay. We jump in and swim straight over to a wall where we enter into a lava tube that opens up into a massive underwater cavern. Here we come across tons of awesome critters including more sharks and turtles, devil’s scorpionfish, more nudibranchs, and a wire coral goby just to name a few. This dive blew us away!!! With our first day of diving complete, we thought it would be fun to hike up to the top of the crater at Diamond Head State Monument. A big outrigger paddle race was about to cross the finish line in Waikiki, and Diamond Head made the perfect lookout point to scope out all the action. After an awesome but exhausting day, we head to the beach by our house for a killer sunset. If you love scuba, travel, adventure, exploration, conservation, and all things aquatic, we really hope you will follow us on our journey. After 5 months in isolation we are finally allowed to sail and explore the local area. Exploring deserted tropical beaches and sailing to the local town to do our own shopping has never felt so liberating. Our circumnavigation is still on hold but we can now escape our isolation anchorage and explore some of Indonesia's most beautiful islands. This new found freedom to explore afloat and ashore has lifted our spirits rekindled our love of the cruising life. P.S. With so many islands in between, we have lots of stop offs along the way. we were blessed with lots of good sailing weather, so we made the most of it and sailed over 100nm. Stopping off at Brampton Island, then to St Bees Island, then to Scawfell Island, then to Digby Island. Lots of little day sails were done and we managed to squeeze in some diving. When we sailed into Digby Island, there were fish jumping every where so the Captain through out a lure and caught a big Queenfish.
