Das stimmt nicht! Nach wie vor gibt es Werften, die gemäßigte Langkieler und Langkieler bauen, mit angehängtem Ruder oder Ruder am Skeg, und ohne Kielbolzen. Es sind nicht mehr viele Werften, und bei den Großserienwerften wird man natürlich nicht fündig. In diesem Video stelle ich euch ein solches Boot vor! Die Rustler Werft in Südengland baut stabile, seetüchtige Blauwasseryachten mit einem schönen Unterwasserschiff ohne Kielbolzen und mit Ruder am Skeg. Genau das, was ich mir auf Hochsee wünsche, damit ich sicher schlafen kann. Der GFK-Rumpf ist aus Volllaminat, kein Sandwich. Eine Kuttertakelung gehört zur Standardausrüstung. In diesem Video seht ihr die Rustler 42, es gibt aber auch noch eine Rustler 37 und eine Rustler 44 (Decksalon). Auf dem Gebrauchtmarkt ist außerdem die Rustler 36 anzutreffen, dieses Modell wurde früher gebaut. We seize the day with a stop at Man Island before continuing to our anchorage. We spend the next day touring the ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Dunmoretown, where all the rich people come to stay in Eleuthera. The marinas are full of mega yachts and the streets are full of colorful hotels, vistas, and restaurants. On the east side of the island is famous pink sand beach, due to crushed up coral. We find it to be the place to be on a Sunday afternoon, and chill there for a bit before a late lunch with the biggest conch sandwich I've ever seen! Last month we pulled into a marina for 3 days to complete an ongoing rigging project to replace all of our stays. While in the marina, we installed all but one - the forestay. It was finally time to install it and the best marina we could do it in was 25 miles north in Carriacou. So we set off for a day sail and immediately got a whooping from some pretty hefty seas and strong winds. In the process of raising our canvas, we tore our staysail - Our first ripped sail of our journey so far and not surprising given its age. Despite the wild weather and ripped sail we had a great journey and put a hook in in Tyrell Bay, Carriacou that afternoon. The next day we inspected the tear after assessing that it was a bit beyond our skills we got it straight to a sailmaker to repair. The next task was the take off our Genoa in preparation for our marina time. The weather gave us some challenges making our way down the coast of Australia towards Sydney. After spending a lot of time creeping through the inshore channels, heading out to sea was a bit of a shock to our systems, especially when we were caught in an un-forecasted storm. Water water everywhere and it is all salt water which does not do us any good (except to float on) UNTIL NOW! We recently installed a Rainman Watermaker (aka desalination unit) aboard our boat and can now desalinate salt water!!! Here is the link to the Rainman website for more info about the watermaker we installed. http://bit.ly/Rainmam *According to Rainman the output of this unit is 26-37gph depending on water temperature. We have been seeing the high side of this output scale in the warm Caribbean water. *Everything that we needed for install came with our rainman unit including valves, fittings, filters, filter housings and mounts, pex tubing, even hose clamps. The only thing that I had to get additionally was a sea water strainer and a short length of pvc hose. We complete the journey through the French Waterways traveling the large rivers in Southern France all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. In this video, we face an electrical problem and learn how helpful the cruising community can be on the canals, cross two rivers using famous aqueducts, leave the small canals and enter the larger Saone and Rhone Rivers, learn how to manage the boat in deep locks built for big ships, attend a theatre festival in Avignon and sample some of the county's fine wine in wineries along the route.
