About the home that burned down:  For the last ten years, I've been blessed to live most of the year on a magical, beautiful and abundant hillside in the forest 20 minutes outside of Jerusalem.  My friends call the land that I've been living on "heaven."  The owners of the land have an enchanted wooden home on the land, and operate a woodshop on the land making biblical harps.  My heart, sweat, many memories and dreams are tied to this land.  I built many of the features myself, planted many fruit trees and a garden, and it all turned into ash from a forest fire.  The harp shop also burned down completely.  There is a campaign to help rebuild the harp shop LINK:https://givechak.co.il/20730/en?ref=rc.  By an absolute miracle, the fire came right up to the landowners house but did not burn it.  Nobody was hurt or burned on the property, and I'm relearning the lesson about what is and isn't important in life.   About the boat:  Greece is a great place to get a boat, practice sailing around the islands, and sail to Israel.  I'll be looking to get a 35 foot monohull that is tall enough for me to stand in, safe and comfortable enough to live in, and has room for friends.  If it has a crows-nest on the top, that would be bonus.  Me and sailing:  I went to a sailing camp when I was 10 years old for a month in Atlantic City.  I didn't really learn to sail,  but fell in love with the wind and the waves.  Over the last decade, I've co-captained a few epic sailing adventures in the Caribbean with my clone (twin), family and friends.  There is a really nice mix of deep tranquility and bliss....AND great adventure, problem solving and dancing with nature and the unknown.  I LOVE IT!  In Israel, I'm also part of a group of friends working to make a sailing yeshivah/school. We start our journey through South Carolina by crossing the state line in the evening, coming into port from the sea. We anchor in a dead boat graveyard and manage to make a semi-permanent fix to the steering before starting our next day of ICW cruising. We find ample mall parking at Barefoot Landing and take the opportunity to stretch our legs a bit and fill our bellies with tacos before continuing on down the ICW to anchor in a swamp. This version of Episode 55 includes minimal edits to video and audio. This is intended to allow us to roll out more videos weekly in order to encourage greater engagement with our audience, and also to allow us to catch up to current time a bit quicker. It was during leg two as Niel and Julien pulled in for the second time since leaving Galway, that they made the decision to retire. This time they'd pulled into Stornoway to wait out the forecast 35 knots coming their way (the wind and seas that broke Trimaran Nemo?). With the hasty repairs they'd effected in Killybegs just two days earlier still very much on their minds, Neil and Julian decided they'd much rather enjoy a leisurely cruise home through the Shetlands than keep battling on. Nous sommes arrivés à Rotoava, la localité principale de Fakarava. Située au Nord-Ouest de l'atoll, Rotoava, dispose de plusieurs épiceries, restaurants et centres de plongée. Nous avons utilisé les services de Kaina Plongée pour effectuer deux plongées dans la passe Nord. Ces plongées étaient magnifiques et à notre avis plus impressionnantes que la plongée que nous avons effectué dans la passe Sud.
