We’re Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. Our mast did not go up as planned and was delayed by a week, but since we were in the boatyard anyway, why not start (YET ANOTHER) new project? If you have been watching our channel or are new to it, well, let me tell you that our v-berth wasn't the biggest or cosiest place to sleep. We purchased Ragdoll and knew that eventually, we will have to commit and undergo a complete refit of the v-berth... what better time than now? Our plan is to extend the bed quite far to allow for a decent size mattress to fit in and remove all the unnecessary and mostly unusable wardrobes/cupboards. We will adjust our bunk cabins to create alternative storage and wardrobes instead and have a lovely and big berth to sleep in... with plenty fresh air - something, we're currently missing in our aft cabin. So here comes more boat work and more DIY! AGAIN! Who are we? We are a family of three with three dogs, sailing the coasts of Scotland, exploring one island at a time – for now! There is no set route or plan. We will go where the wind and life take us. We have two golden retrievers and a bernese mountain dog – Hachi, Luna and Meems who sail with us. Against our better judgement, we take 'plan B' and sail North to Vanua Levu, and then East to anchor at Paradise Resort in Southern Taveuni. We tank dive 'The Zoo' and 'The Great White Wall' on the Rainbow Reef in the Somosomo Strait, before sailing back across the strait to seek shelter from foul weather in Viani Bay.
