This episode is all about the big step of renting out the house and starting to live on anchor. So far, we have cashed out of my former business, a car sales yard, purchased a boat in Tahiti and sailed it back to New Zealand to have a baby. But there are still big projects in the way of us becoming full-time cruisers. The house needs cleaning, painting and landscaping. Boo Window is in south Raja Ampat, also known as Misool. It's quite easy to see where this dive site gets its name, if you look at the map and the dive site itself. These "windows" in the island is not the only attraction of course. Although it's a beautiful site with colorful soft coral surrounding these windows, and the site, there are a wealth of marine life to be found here. This is the ninth episode of many to come that is following the build, launching and sailing of "Glass Slipper." A Jim Antrim designed 40 foot offshore race boat that is being built on location at the Berkeley Marine Center in Berkeley California. The build process has taken 5 years and finally the boat is in the water and sailing! The video covers our 150 mile qualifier for this years Transpac race. We sailed from Pt. Richmond out the gate about 20 or so miles and then continued up the coast to Drakes Bay. We then sailed with the kite up down to Montara and then back up the coast to Drakes bay. We repeated this course about 3 times before finishing at the Berkeley Marina. This was our first overnight offshore sail. Big step in the process of dialing in the boating crew in preparation for Transpac. More episodes to come following our training and prep for this years Transpac Race.

This is a nice quality bowrider boat that will not break the bank, nor will it disappoint! The Monterey 194 fs is a great riding hull that performs well due to the stepped hull design. Powered by Mercruiser's 220hp 5.0TKS carbureted engine this boat gets up and goes when you put the hammer down and cruises nicely also. There are about 670 hours on this unit, which is nothing to be afraid of and still leaves a tonne of life left for many years to come as rebuilds are typically called for around 1500 to 2000 hours and most folks struggle to put 50 hours a year on a boat after their first year. There's a factory tower with racks and a bimini top, and cockpit and bow covers that are in decent shape too. There's a 4 speaker stereo in the boat, and also tower speakers and a sub but the amp for those appears to not be working. Snap out carpets are in good shape, and the tandem axle trailer rounds out the package nicely. Drop by today to check this one out as it won't last long! This is a consignment sale. We make our final push through South Carolina and head south towards Beaufort, SC. There's not a lot of wind on the ICW, but there are plenty of marshlands and the occasional pod of dolphins to see. As we hang out awaiting a bridge opening, we notice that the steering pivot on the motor broke, leaving the motor dangling from the boat by the gear shift rod. Duke tied it back in position with rope and we passed through the swing bridge into Beaufort, SC. 9 LIVES no longer has engine-steering and we no longer trust the engine as an auxiliary, so it is no longer safe to take the family out into the ocean. I had to do a 14 minute decompression stop which turned out to be quite exiting. I felt like being on the menu for plenty of sharks I had to fend off. This was not what we regularly encounter on our yacht charter cruises and I sure will be more careful in the future!
