Mit dem Wohnmobil auf dem Campingplatz „Isolino Camping Village“. Ein Video über die Segelmöglichkeiten und Segelbedingungen am Lago Maggiore. Der Campingplatz bietet beste Zugangsmöglichkeiten zum See, allerdings ist es ein recht großer und lauter Platz. Leider waren die Windverhältnisse eher bescheiden und so kam ich bei drei Wochen vor Ort auf nur zwei gute Segeltage…also eine ziemlich magere Ausbeute.

Join us for this weeks episode as we hop along the Mallorcan coast, exploring some beautiful spots. We really had to pinch ourselves, the beaches were stunning, the water so turquoise and clear. We check out Peguera, the most German colonised Spanish town we have ever been to. All the restaurant menus were in German. I guess this is what it feels like when other folks visit a very British dominated Spanish town. After Peguera we moved as it was very rolly, and ended in an uncomfortable night sleep for Walter and us. We hopped along the cost to Cala Fornells which was gorgeous. Then moved again the following day over to Cala Illetes/ Camp de Mar. Wow, what a beautiful place too. A big day today. Who would have thought we were under 3 inches of snow but 2 days ago? After getting the boat dry, today its all about getting the last jobs done and we start with the anchor and bowsprit chocs. Not quite right but nearly there!!! Then it's all about the last epoxying and oiling, taking advantage of the nice weather today. Cleats are next as we re-attach all the missing gennel chandlery and also place a whole host of new cleats too and then last but not least we paint the exposed fibreglass under floorboards, in the the side stowage and Lazarette. Some big steps forward today and we're nearly there!!! We return to Noumea to reprovision for our time in Vanuatu. We shop at the huge Geant Shopping Centre before clearing out of New Caledonia making the trek around the harbour visiting Immigration, Customs and Harbour Master. We sail overnight to Port Resolution on Tanna Island and check in with the officials. After breaking our reef 1 line we manage to retrieve the end inside the middle of the boom, and a few adventurous sailors have lunch at a tiny local restaurant, some not entirely sure what they just ate! We’re doing a final lap of the Hauraki Gulf before setting sailing into new adventures. We’ve sailed from the Bay of Islands to Port Fitzroy at Aotea Great Barrier Island. With an area of 285 square kilometers (or 110 square miles), Aotea is New Zealand’s six largest island and is situated in the outer Hauraki Gulf approximately 50 nautical miles from Auckland. For two weeks, we’ve been exploring the various anchorages Port Fitzroy has to offer. We’ve enjoyed the facilities at Smokehouse Bay, explored the hidden gems of Kiwiriki Bay, and visited predator free islands that have given us memories that will last a lifetime. But our time at Aotea is sadly coming to an end. Today we wake up here and for our last day on Aotea, we decide to trade our keel for wheels, driving from Port Fitzroy to Tryphena. My Rudder bearing left me off the coast of Anglesey last year with a serious leak that was getting faster by the hour. Who would have thought 2 tiny screws could have caused that!! Anyway this video is all about how I changed the lower bearing. The top bearing is simply a case of unscrewing and changing it, however the bearings I got from Drascombe didn;t fit properly so I just did the lower one and kept the old top one as-is. The HH66 Lee Overlay Partners (ex Nemo) put on a great show, impressively flying a hull and, above all, peak speeds pushing 30 knots. The Gunboat 72 Layla was not to be outdone, with her GPS recording a top speed of 24.5 knots. The La Grande-Motte shipyard's first flybridge catamaran won the overall race on corrected time. The Diam 24 fleet was of course severely tested by the choppy conditions, but there too, they put on quite a show. In this fury of spray and exciting runs, the crew of Anomaly came out on top, leaving their rivals with no chance of a rematch. For the past two years, the CMC has been running a second division called Rally. This year, the 9 participants were accompanied - and looked after - by our Marketing Director Gwen Dorning.
