In this episode we leave Morien Bay, Cape Breton, in the fog, and sail back to Louisbourg. On the way we are visited by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police). The fog does not lift as predicted, we lose our wind near Louisbourg, and scull two miles into the harbour. While Cindy is away visiting, Mark solo sails to St. Peter’s. Nav par 25-30kts entre Tarragona et Arenys de Mar en passant par Barcelona

On quitte Dakar pour une navigation tranquille sous spi mais en zigzag entre les casiers de pêche, pour atteindre en deux jours, les portes du delta du Sine Saloum. Pas facile aussi de jongler entre les hauts fonds, mais les copains bateaux nous ont ouvert la voie en transmettant les coordonnées GPS pour les points de passage ; sympa la solidarité ! Premier mouillage près de Dionewar et premières découvertes de cette magnifique région : le Sine Saloum est une réserve naturelle classée à l'UNESCO et d'un point de vue paysages, faune et flore, nous allons en prendre plein les yeux et les oreilles. Nous nous plongeons directement au cœur de la mangrove en parcourant les bolongs avec nos paddle ; ainsi dans le calme complet, les oiseaux et même un singe nous laissent entrevoir leur milieu de vie. C'est magique ! Pour rejoindre le village, nous empruntons des petits sentiers dans la savane entre les champs d'hibiscus, les fromagers et les baobabs. Les oiseaux nous enchantent, les chauffe-souris jouent à cache-cache, les lézards sont furtifs. Au village, sans voiture puisque sur une île, les habitants sont accueillants et souriants, la spontanéité des enfants est contagieuse. Nous découvrons leur quotidien entre petits commerces, pêcheurs, et l'atelier des fabrication de leur fameuses pirogues. Trois premiers jours déjà bien remplis et qui annoncent un séjour au Sine Saloum, extraordinaire ! Vive le voyage !

We sail back to Havannah Harbour to hide out from some weather, which changed our pick up location for Rachael's parents' visit. We cruise Havannah Harbour and Moso Island with them, before returning to Port Vila to prepare for our next passage to New Caledonia.

Brian Bissell graduated from college as a two time all american sailor and gravitated to the Snipe Class as part of his work with North Sails One Design. He's stayed with the Class because of the high level of competition that's possible. Brian's been to the Worlds in Portugal and San Diego and the Western Hemispheres in Uruguay since joining the class five years ago. Brian talks about why collegiate sailors should think about the Snipe as their boat of choice. Even though the boat has lots of tuning adjustments, its possible to go out and be competitive with just a little help from other Snipers. Greg Fisher gave him three basic rig tunes and sent him out on the course.

We joined Mikes company fun cup in Ibiza May 2018. Its was by far one of the best weeks of our life. We had winds from 0 - 20 knots and ended up 2nd plus being the party boat. After hanging out in Italy for a while, we rented a car and drove all the way to the beautiful city of Venice, and after that, we finally move onto our sailboat.
