We have a great sail and arrive early, then have to wait out the tide to make it into the entrance. We end up doing this in the dark, a hair raising experience. Zwei Großprojekte, das Abschleifen des Rumpfes unter Deck und der Neubau der Pantry gehen weiter, daneben gibt´s noch ein paar kleinere Projekte wie das Restaurieren der beiden Niedergangstreppchen. Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles Andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Today was a foul day. There's no ther way to put it. It just rained, and then rained harder!! So raincoat dinned, off we went to get Lulu onto the water! First job was to let her sit and check the newly installed Rudder bearings had been done right. There were no leaks at all, however we did run into a slight issue! Next up we decided to get the mooring strop and buoy setup. Even if we weren't leaving her on the water today, this would be a job well done now. We recently lost our Bernese Mountain Dog, Mimsy. (RIP 09.02.2025). Our floating home, Ragdoll, has taken us on an incredible journey across the Atlantic coast, from the west coasts of Scotland to the sun-drenched waters of the Mediterranean. For two years, we lived aboard a 47ft monohull. Now, we’ve started on a new adventure aboard our 2008 Fountaine Pajot Orana 44, embracing the beauty, chaos, and unpredictability of life at sea. Full-time work, homeschooling, storms, sunsets—this is our reality. No script. No certainty. Just wind, waves, and the endless blue. We island hop through the Caribbean! After crossing the Atlantic Ocean, we reunite with friends in St Lucia, visit an inflatable water park, and enjoy some well-deserved fun. With just a few days to rest, we set sail again—heading toward St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Along the way, we respond to a distress call (that turns out to be a false alarm), and sail past the breathtaking Pitons. In Bequia, we soak in the charm of the colourful streets, sip fresh passion fruit juice, and grab long-awaited coconuts. After giving away our plastic bottles from the crossing, we cool off with a swim and spot an eagle ray before heading to the magical Tobago Cays. There, we snorkel in crystal-clear water, hike above the anchorage, and search for sea turtles. The kids get a sailing lesson on a mini-cat, and we attempt a dinghy ride to a beach we call Rum Island—but Mother Nature had other plans. After exploring iguana-filled rocks and visiting the Pirates of the Caribbean filming site in Wallilabou, we make our way to Martinique for beach days, a floating DJ party, and one unexpected visitor… It’s another wild and wonderful chapter in our floating family adventure.

We leave Port McNeil and travel to the Broughtons, then through Seymour Narrows to Comox and back to Anacortes.... beautiful scenery ... with fog and orcas.
