This is a fun park well off the beaten path so it's not busy at all. The road coming in is a bit rough so really take it slow if you like your car. The Boardwalk Cotee River preserve has a well-maintained boardwalk well above the marshlands below. Keeping you close to nature, but not so close nature gets you. Speaking of nature, while we only saw squirrels while there, if you're lucky you may discover all kinds of wildlife. Watch out for the nature that bites, you may also come across snakes, bobcats, or black bears, so be careful as you explore in the great state of Florida. Cotee River We really wanted to see the river, guess it was down that tractor trail in the video we didn't explore.  The Cotee River does run all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, and while you can't Kyaka here, it is teaming with all kinds of nature that travel its currents. So if you venture this park, take the trail less traveled and check it out. They Have Teeter Totters It was a beautiful warm day during our exploration and still very little visitors. Those of you with kids can really take advantage of the nice playground at Cotee River Preserve. September 20-21 49°38’52.5″N 1°37’14.3″W Night-sail from Calais to Cherbourg, France (Sept.20-21): 170nm 30hrs Fair winds & strong tides Clear skies – and yet ANOTHER firey orange sunset! Our sail through the English Channel started with sunshine and very light winds…so light that we put up our parasailer again! We were a little nervous, but the sailing was so smooth & comfortable with it up! We changed back to the genoa before sunset when the winds picked up and had a smooth overnight sail. However, we got a little caught in some seaweed along the way and found ourselves in 4-5knots of current against us JUST as we were approaching Cherbourg. To our detriment, we were stuck next to a navigation marker motoring at almost 0knots as we got pushed back for at least 3 HOURS…we just couldn’t make it past the marker….VERY FRUSTRATING – and tiring. Cherbourg is situated at the northern end of the Cotentin Peninsula, on the English Channel coastline, in Normandy, northwestern France. It is the second largest artificial harbour in the world. Cherbourg port has a lot of history. Cherbourg had been a strategic stronghold for several centuries – its castle was first built in the 5th century to protect the whole width of the Cotentin. In 1944 it served as protection from the Germans in the Battle of Cherbourg. Its central harbour wall can be sited 4 km from the coast harbour-walls, stretching for more than 6 km! As well as Cherbourg Naval Base, it has been used for mercantile shipping and harbours hundreds of pleasure crafts! (Wikepedia) We experienced first-hand that the harbor is frequently used as a military training base. When we arrived the harbor, we noticed many anchoring symbols on the charts just near one of the major borgs. We thought it looked like a perfect place to anchor. However, immediately after we dropped anchor, we were called on the VHF to move. We ended up docking at the harbor, one of Europe's busiest harbors and staying there for a little over a week because of strong and gusting winds (Ep16). Stay tuned! Much more to come.

Mit 2 x 300 PS und entsprechendem Getöse fahren wir an die Südspitze von Isabela. Auf dem Weg taucht plötzlich mitten im Meer ein Felsen auf gegen den das Meer heftig brandet. Sich so nah solch einer Brandung zu nähern, das ist nur wegen der 2 x 300 PS möglich. Für die Vögel ist dieser Fels ein absolut sicherer Ort. Hier kommt so schnell keiner hin. Entlang der Küste erstreckt sich ein ununterbrochener Riffgürtel. Hier brandet von SW kommend das Meer. Als Schiffsführer eines eigenen Bootes, weiß ich um die Gefahren solch einer Brandung – leicht quergeschlagen und das Boot sowie dessen Crew sind verloren. Der Skipper jedoch kennt hier jeden Zentimeter, wartet auf die richtige Welle und schießt mit seinen 600 PS mitten durch. Dahinter Ententeich. Eine faszinierende Landschaft tut sich auf. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. La Marina di Scarlino è considerata la casa italiana di Nautor Swan, qui hanno regatato le flotte di ClubSwan 36 e ClubSwan 50, per una ventina di imbarcazioni. Il circuito si sposterà poi a Bonifacio in Corsica, ad Alghero e Porto Cervo in Sardegna per chiudere con il Mondiale a Palma di Mallorca ad ottobre.
