This is not just a boat — it’s a piece of maritime history. In this video, we step aboard a 62-foot classic wooden yacht, beautifully built in mahogany and teak, and now celebrating over 50 years on the water. The current owner has cared for her for 25 years and knows every detail inside and out. Join us for a full walkthrough as he shares: The story behind the boat Construction details and craftsmanship Layout and onboard systems Ownership experience over 25 years What makes this yacht truly special? This video is made as part of the sales process, giving you an honest and detailed look at a rare classic yacht now looking for her next owner. Are you interested in this classic wooden boat? Please read more here: https://skippern.yachts/yacht/sirius-of-art/ 📍 Featured on: @Sailing-Maja and @skippernyachts If you appreciate classic yachts, wooden boats, and true craftsmanship, this is a tour you don’t want to miss. A rare classic with soul, history, and timeless elegance. Built in 1977 at Cantieri Valdettaro in La Spezia, Italy, to the designs of the renowned British naval architect Lawrence Giles. Sirius of Art is a true one-off sloop-rigged sailing yacht measuring 18.8 m (61 ¾ ft) – carvel-planked with teak below the waterline, mahogany above, and a teak deck. With 36 tonnes displacement, 15 tonnes ballast, and a sail area of 275 m² (plus approx. 200 m² spinnaker/gennaker), she combines classic lines with impressive sailing performance and robustness for long ocean passages. Below deck, she exudes the warm luxury of a bygone era: rich teak and mahogany joinery, a cozy saloon with fireplace, a large dining area for 14–16 people, comfortable double cabins, three bathrooms with showers, a separate captain’s cabin, and a well-equipped galley. She offers berths for 6–12 overnight guests depending on the desired level of comfort – ideal for family cruises, friends, sailing holidays, or maritime courses and gatherings. Sirius of Art has circumnavigated the globe twice, served as a charter yacht in the Mediterranean, and arrived in Norway in 1997 when the current owner purchased her from a British earl. Since then, she has been based in Norway, lovingly maintained by an experienced wooden-boat enthusiast who ran Grimsenkilen Båtbyggeri. She has been used as a private yacht, sailing school, and venue for maritime courses – always treated with the respect and care such a gem deserves. Today she is in seaworthy and good condition, winterized but fully operational. A coastal holiday cruise along the Norwegian coast is planned for the summer of 2026 – clear proof that she is still living the life she was built for. Opportunities for the next owner – elevate her to new splendor: Upgrade navigation electronics (chartplotter, radar, AIS, VHF, etc.) to modern standards – all equipment is on board, but dated. Consider a new sail wardrobe (current sails are functional but aging). A thorough refresh of varnish, teak, and surfaces – a proper spring refit that will make her shine like new. Restore certain interior woodwork in authentic teak and mahogany to complete the original, exclusive atmosphere. This is not a major restoration – rather, loving care and thoughtful modernization that will make her even more personal and impressive. Sirius of Art is for those seeking something truly unique: the genuine wooden-boat enthusiast who values authentic craftsmanship, maritime traditions, and character above mass-produced perfection. Whether you enjoy working on wood and rigging yourself or have the resources to engage skilled professionals, the right investment will yield a yacht that tells stories – a living link to the golden age of yachting. The current owner, now 80 years old, wishes to pass this masterpiece on to the next generation. He knows the boat inside and out and is happy to assist the new owner with technical insight, stories, and practical advice to ensure a smooth transition. The yacht is located in Norway. Interested parties can view her in the summer of 2026. Delivery by agreement. Contact yacht broker Jarle Karlsrud at Skippern Yachts for more information, full technical specifications, additional photos, or viewings. Skippern Yachts is a well-established Norwegian yacht brokerage with a global perspective, operating internationally across Europe. With many years of experience in cross-border sales, Skippern Yachts assists clients throughout the entire process – from marketing and negotiations to handling all formalities, documentation, and legal requirements with professionalism and care. Sirius of Art is more than a boat – she is a heritage, an experience, and a piece of living history. Are you the next to fill her sails?
Goofy jokes, more painting, a secret, broken generator, dancing, several comments Previously took Isabella out for a spin and turned her around at the dock so we could easily work on the starboard side. Our green "racing" stripe needed some help. We taped plastic between the boat and dock to catch any sanding dust generated. Using the belt sander it was soon ready to paint. Blue taping took almost as long as sanding. Once prepared a coat of Petit one part polyurethane in green was applied. The weather looked great but soon changed as rain delayed the second coat. Pardon our goofy jokes in between. Still working on the Northern Lights generator. It starts but you have to keep the glow plugs energized for it to continue running, otherwise it dies. Previously replaced all of the relays to no avail. Started bleeding the fuel lines to make sure there is no air in them. Didn't work. Ordered a new oil pressure switch hoping it is the decisive fix. Trial and error. Might eventually have to hire a professional to diagnose it. Addressed several comments from various episodes and, of course danced. Hey y’all, our Sony video camera broke and you can help us replace it. Step aboard Episode 5 of Let’s Talk Yachts with Erik Haaland, featuring a special interview with Franco Corazza, Project Manager for the Grand Soleil PLUS range. In this episode, Erik and Franco discuss the vision behind the Grand Soleil PLUS line, the design and construction philosophy of Cantiere del Pardo, and what makes these yachts unique in the world of luxury performance cruising. From the Grand Soleil PLUS 65 LC and PLUS 72 LC to the new Grand Soleil PLUS 80, the conversation explores how Grand Soleil blends Italian design, advanced composite construction, offshore capability, and owner-driven customization into a true bluewater sailing yacht. The PLUS range represents the larger, more bespoke side of Grand Soleil, built for owners who want serious cruising capability without giving up performance, elegance, or the pure sailing experience. Erik and Franco also discuss the shipyard’s in-house construction process, carbon and epoxy building methods, layout flexibility, and the type of owner drawn to these yachts, from private cruisers to long-distance voyagers and those planning ambitious passages around the world. But before installing it, we had to face a problem: it simply didn’t fit the boat as designed. But making it work means redesigning everything: layout, ergonomics, visibility, and even how we’ll navigate the boat day-to-day. Is simpler actually better? And how far would you go to get it right? Let me know what you think. __________________________________________________ We are Duca and Roberta, a Brazilian couple that during a sabbatical trip in 2016 decided to follow our dream. So, we created "Odd Life Crafting", a project composed of many smaller projects that we call seasons. The first one was the creation of Odd Life Crafting. The idea was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started the next season: we built a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finished we found a boat that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her (Season 3). On the season 4 we sailed for 2 years (exploring the Brazilian coast and part of the Caribbean), we sold our boat and we moved to Europe. The last season we are building a new aluminum 43ft sailboat and a new life. We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams. In this episode we race against another lagoon 450, then have a surprise visitor who starred in the reality TV show Below Deck, after taking over from Captain Lee. I also did a few seasons of below deck, so it was fun to hang out again, and share stories, as well as find a massive shipwreck on the reef just in front of where we were anchored! We heard a bang… and the engine went dead. Not what you want to happen just before one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Although we could still sail, we knew we’d need the engine for what lay ahead — the Singapore Strait. So there was only one way to find out what had happened. We hove to… and Timo went in the water. In swell, wind, and current — and with ships all around — it’s not something you take lightly. What he found was something we really didn’t expect… and somehow, we managed to get moving again. But that was only the beginning. As we continued, the number of ships around us kept building, until we found ourselves weaving through what felt like a maze of anchored vessels… and then navigating it all in the dark. At one point, in the middle of the night, we were approached by Singapore authorities — not the most comfortable moment, surrounded by ships in the dark — but after a few questions, they let us continue on our way. From going in the water offshore… to threading our way through one of the busiest waterways in the world — this is one of those passages we won’t forget. ⛵ We are Sailing NV — a family of four living aboard an ex-Vendée Globe racing yacht, sharing the reality of offshore sailing, boat life, and exploring remote parts of the world. ❤️ Support Our Journey If you'd like to help us keep sailing + filming, you can support us here: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SailingNV Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/sailingnv Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/sailingnv or if you'd like to help us buy something we need, you can check out our amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1G2NJ0EGJLKR0?ref_=wl_share Thank you so much #sailinglife #offshoresailing #boatlife

WE HAVE BEEN KEEPING A SECRET!! We have some EXCITING NEWS.... https://www.sailingnandji.com If we wind back the clock and look at everything that’s unfolded over the past 12 months… it’s been one hell of a ride...What started as a simple need to extend our visas and leave South Africa, quickly turned into a challenging chain of events. Instead of flying out of SA, we bought an iconic Land Rover Defender and set off to overland Africa. After all, what’s the point in sailing all this way and not going on our own safari? But It didn’t exactly go to plan. Between breakdowns, roadside repairs, and more time befriending mechanics, we didn’t get to travel as far and eventually in Namibia, installing a brand-new engine just to drive back to South Africa and Nandji 2. When we finally made it to the South African border, and a new unexpected hurdle. We were granted just a seven-day visa, which meant dropping everything and flying back to our home country of Australia to reset our tourist visa. What was meant to be a return to sailing, turned into an unexpected family visit back on the Sunny Coast of Australia. We have been trying to grow our family for years, so whilst we were in oz we decided to take a big step and try IVF. Months of appointments followed. Emotions ran high. Our Savings dropped fast. And all the while, our sailboat sat waiting on the other side of the world. So I made the call to head back to South Africa ahead of Bonita, to get everything organised onboard for when the ladies return… only to arrive to Nandji 2 to discover the engine had backfilled with seawater. Another engine toast. Another setback. While I was buried in boat work, thousands of miles apart, we got the news… the IVF hadn’t worked. And just like that, the plan life changes again. The best decision was for Bonita and Tallula to come back to the boat and for all of us to be together again as a family and, make the most of an unexpected summer in Cape Town whilst we repowered Nandji 2. As the last of the boat work wraps up, the adventure is soon to begin again. We will leave South Africa behind and set sail on a 7,000 nautical mile journey across the southern Atlantic Ocean, chasing new horizons in the Caribbean. Pregnant and back in the Bahamas as a full-time travel family on a travel vlog exploring island life with a toddler, a dog and a baby on the way. Instead of slowing down, we’ve found ourselves right back in the Bahamas living life between the ocean, islands and full-time travel. This week we’re back on the boat exploring some of the most beautiful water we’ve ever seen, swimming with stingrays, diving reefs and heading out to a private island before going in town for Brittni’s first baby scan. This is family travel for us now. Not planned. Not perfect. Just real life on the move! If you’re into family travel vlogs, full-time travel families, travel life or young couple travel adventures, you’ll probably enjoy following our journey. After waiting over 3 years for our dream expedition catamaran… everything has come to a halt. Our custom-built Portofino 52 aluminium expedition catamaran—designed from scratch for our future life at sea—is now stuck in Dubai due to ongoing conflict and global shipping disruptions. We’ve already lost two sailing seasons… and now we’re being told it could be another 6+ months before we can sail the boat!. In last weeks episode we discussed our options: 👉 Do we keep waiting? 👉 Do we patch together short-term sailing? 👉 Or do we take a huge financial risk… and buy another boat? Your feedback was amazing - new ideas like long term rental of boats AND teh suggestion from several that WE SHOULD RUN THE GAUNLET OF THE STRAITS OF HORMUZ to get our Portofino out!!! We discussed lots more details about the road transport issues, the options for completing the boat in Fugairah and more pros and cons for each option.... This isn’t just emotional—it’s a life-changing financial and lifestyle decision. We are looking to have all our viewers vote on which option we should take now including RUN THORUGH THE HORMUZ STRAITS risking both Iranian and American bombs! Your advice could genuinely shape what we do next so we want everyone to vote on the 4 options, just leaving the number that they recommend - 1- Wait 2. Patch it up 3. Buy another boat 4. Run the Hormuz Gauntlet!. 👇 Comment below with your vote -1, 2, , or 4 👇 —

BUON DIVERTIMENTO! Ale & Max - Y2K Crew. 🕒 TIMESTAMP / CAPITOLI DEL VIDEO: 00:00 - L'incubo ricomincia: infiltrazione d'acqua in barca! 00:44 - Perché oggi un video breve (L'emergenza a bordo) 01:15 - I danni della perdita: microonde nuovo rotto 01:33 - Caccia all'infiltrazione: test con l'acqua in coperta 02:34 - I sospetti: Trasto della randa o rotaia dello sprayhood? 03:30 - I prossimi lavori: motore, batterie al litio e taniche 04:27 - Amara sorpresa finale... gocciola ancora!
