Nel settembre 2025 ho viaggiato per 22 giorni come passeggera (pagante) della nave cargo francese CMA CGG Medea da Marsiglia, dove mi hanno imbarcato, fino al porto di Salalah (Oman) dove sono scesa. La portacontainer era diretta in Cina. Ha fatto scalo a Malta, Beirut e dopo il canale di Suez a Gedda (Arabia Saudita). The Australian Sailing Team won three medals at the 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup Final in Abu Dhabi. World Champions Mat Belcher (QLD) and Will Ryan (QLD) won the Men’s 470, which wrapped up on Sunday, 1 November in Abu Dhabi. Tom Burton (NSW) added another gold medal in the Laser and teammate Matt Wearn (WA) completed the Aussie medal haul by adding a bronze. Both Mat Belcher/ Will Ryan and Tom Burton successfully defended their 2014 title. Australian Sailing Squad’s Laser Radial sailor Ashley Stoddart (QLD) finished the event in overall seventh, while the second Australian men’s 470 crew of Alexander and Patrick Conway (NSW) finished tenth. Brand new, multi-million Euro IMOCA 60 Hugo Boss dis-masted and the hull leaking flounders in the Atlantic just off Spain. The crew are heli lifted from the boat. We list Alex Thomson's sailing travails, the Clipper boats arrive in Cape Town, the fast windsurfers in Namibia, the 5 retirements on Day 1 of the TJV, John Navas with his long lens was on San Francisco Bay to shoot the Artemis crew testing their AC45 Turbo, Oman Sail at the World RS:X Windsurfing Championships and the Transat Jacques Vabre start and supreme test of new boats for the "Ultimate in Sailing" next year's Vendee Globe. And seeing by this week's WoW the boats have failed the first test. At uploading time another IMOCA 60 Spirit of Hungry has been dis-masted.

Missions REEFCORES - Geyser / Glorieues - 2013 avec le voilier Antsiva. Pour en savoir plus : http://www.antsiva-missions-scientifiques.com/mission-reefcores-ii-geyser-glorieues-2013/ Une nouvelle équipe de scientifiques embarque ce matin à bord d’Antsiva. Stéphan, Gwénael et Sophie sont tous les trois géologues et travaillent pour Ifremer Brest. Lou, fraîche intechmérienne, est venue nous rejoindre et va aussi participer à cette expédition. Le programme de cette nouvelle mission consiste principalement en acquisitions de données sismique du lagon des Glorieuses et du banc du Geyser. Des prises de sédiments seront effectuées parallèlement ainsi que des prélèvements de coraux fossiles. A midi, tout est prêt et nous pouvons appareiller. Nous levons l’ancre en direction de Mayotte où nous devons d’abord récupérer Pascal, le 4ème géologue qui nous attend avec le matériel Une mission n’est jamais simple à monter. Celle ci n’a pas échappé à la règle et Stéphan, en tant que chef de mission a du faire preuve de patience, d’ingéniosité et de beaucoup de ténacité pour finaliser celle ci. Un des problèmes était celui de l’acheminement du matériel. Les Taaf n’étaient pas en mesure de certifier le transport par avion jusqu’à Glorieuses et transiter par Madagascar comportait trop de risques. La solution de dernière minute fut donc d’envoyer les caisses par fret aérien sur Mayotte avec un des membres de l’équipe. Nous voilà partis pour 36 heures de mer. C’est une grande première pour Sophie qui n’a jamais navigué ! La traversée commence au moteur et en douceur sur une mer calme, puis le vent se lève et nous pouvons naviguer à la voile pendant toute la nuit.
