Simplesmente não acreditamos na quantidade de plástico que encontramos quando chegamos em West Fayu, uma ilha totalmente deserta das Ilhas Carolinas, na Micronésia. Muitas vezes as pessoas não imaginam ou não têm consciência de que um lixo jogado no mar pode viajar milhares e milhares de milhas, colocando em risco a vida marinha e poluindo um local lindo como este. Ficamos tão incomodados que recolhemos todas as garrafas plásticas e levamos ao veleiro Kat para compactar e guardar até chegarmos a um porto com local adequado para reciclagem. É o mínimo que podemos fazer para ajudar a preservar esse paraíso. --- We find it impossible to believe in the amount of garbage we found on West Fayu island, a deserted place in Carolina Islands, in Micronesia. Often, people don’t imagine or are not aware that garbage thrown at the sea can travel for miles and miles, putting the marine life in danger and polluting a beautiful place like this. We were really sad to find that, so we picked up all the plastic bottles we found and took them to the boat to be compressed and kept until we arrived in the port to have them recycled.
