Hi everyone, Impi is a catamaran sailing around the world with a couple, Brent and Ana, having left South Africa some 5 years ago. In this video we have visited some islands around New Caledonia and here in Part 1 of a 2 part series we show our visits to a group of islands around the SW side of New Caledonia and just NW of Noumea. We have taken shelter from a storm off an island known as 'To N'DU' and sail to TANGUE, N'DUE (Grand Pandanus) and arrive at M'BA (Grande ILE). These are spectacular islands with gin clear turquoise water, white sparkling beaches and is an area we currently rate in our top 3 cruising destinations having cruised 3/4 of the world so far. This movie is a 'little out of sequence' since Impi is currently in hauled in New Zealand since we have flown back to SA for a few months to attend the wedding of our son and will return soon possibly sailing back here to enjoy more islands of New Caledonia. Wahlfach Gleitschirmfliegen goes Bassano. Artikel im MAGIX Magazin: http://magazine.magix.com/de/das-fliegende-klassenzimmer/ Im Februar 2016 verbrachte das Wahlfach Gleitschirmfliegen vom Gabriel von Seidl-Gymnasium aus Bad Tölz eine Woche in Bassano (bzw. Semonzo). Hier absolvierten die meisten von uns, unsere ersten Höhenflüge auf dem Weg zum A-Schein. Geleitet wurde die Reise von Renate Schatzl mit der Hilfe von den Fluglehrern Helmut Bergheim und Holger Achterholt. Obwohl das Wetter nicht optimal war, kam jeder auf ca. 10 Höhenflüge. Als das Wetter abends gut war verbrachten wir eine Nacht auf dem Flugberg Monte Grappa. Als es an einem der darauffolgenden Tagen regnete, beschlossen wir Venedig zu besichtigen. Insgesamt eine sehr gelungene und spaßige Woche mit einer coolen Truppe! Julia embarque pour la première fois sur un voilier, Pierre-Paul et Marie font leur première nav de nuit ! Passage de la Teignouse mouvementé mais sous le soleil. Escale au port le Palais à Belle-Ile-en-Mer pour faire le plein de Smile. Puis 12h de navigation avec du près et les dauphins :) Marie à la barre, à l’école de Charlotte on n’apprend pas que la voile, on apprend aussi à porter la veste de quart avec style ! Cap sur Concarneau avec une belle moyenne de 7 nœuds pour sortir le bateau au chantier Le Pasco avant la fin de la fenêtre météo. 11 inches of rain in the last few days have the rivers rising in the Souther Louisiana area of St. Tammany Parish. We have our boat in a Marina off of the Tchefuncte River. The river flows down into Lake Ponchatrain, but not before the Abita River and the Bogue Falaya River dump their water into it as well. All that water had the river cresting and the waters rising a couple feet over the top of the docks. We spent the majority of the night and day checking and adjusting our lines to keep the boat safe. Once the sun came up, my 2 boat neighbors and I were checking all the other live a-boards and boats in the Marina. We filmed quite a bit of it, and also some flooding around the area where we keep the boat. Join us on our journey as we continue to rebuild, refit and prepare our Formosa 51 Sailboat for our continued cruising journey. We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board.
