What an incredible day - one I have been dreaming of for a long time! Scuba diving 5 Fathom Pinnacle, then the Shark Cave at Ka'ula Rock, and finishing up at South Point, Ni'ihau. Ripping currents prevented me from getting all the video I wanted... and couldn't get close enough to the schooling sharks for it to really come out on video. The curiosity of the marine life was incredible - it's clear it's not frequently visited by divers. It was almost like playing hide and seek with the incredibly inquisitive monk seals. Schooling gray reef sharks, Hawaiian monk seals, Knifejaws, rainbow runners, trevally, endless soft leather corals. Bottlenose dolphins in between dives.

http://tulasendlesssummer.com We anchored up in a very protected little anchorage off Shroud Cay and immediately began exploring. We paddled through the mangroves in crystal clear water all the way across Shroud Cay and ended up where the cut meets Exuma Sound. There were cliffs, trails, and a few signs that indicated we were at an area called "Camp Driftwood". The place was absolutely incredible with views straight out of a movie. We couldn't believe how fast the water was moving and how clear it was. We highly recommend checking out Shroud Cay!

Fête Maritime de Brest 2016 : Une courte pause dans le programme d'entrainement de Bertrand de Broc Du 13 au 19 juillet s’est déroulée les fêtes maritimes internationales de Brest 2016 avec près de 9000 marins et quelques 1000 bateaux. Au milieu des plus beaux voiliers du monde, Bertrand de Broc a embarqué avec lui des sociétaires MACSF pour une expérience hors du commun. C’était seulement ma seconde navigation seul à bord après ma qualification en mai dernier, et je m’étais concocté un parcours précis comme en course afin de travailler aussi la météo. J’ai très peu dormi, entre les petits soucis techniques classiques, la navigation sous spi jour et nuit, le nombre impressionnant de cargos croisés au large de la Bretagne ou le peu de vent m’obligeant à beaucoup manœuvrer. Ce qui est très positif, c’est que je suis rentré après huit jours fatigué mais heureux. Quéguiner – Leucémie Espoir présent à Brest pour les Fêtes ! Tous les quatre ans, Brest se pare de milliers de voiles pour fêter, une semaine durant, les plus beaux bateaux et tous les marins du monde. Des petites flottilles d’exception aux plus fameux des grands voiliers, des bateaux scientifiques de pointe aux prestigieux bâtiments des Marines d’État, la magie est alors partout, à terre comme en mer, dans la plus pure tradition des gens de mer. Yann Eliès et son monocoque 60 IMOCA Quéguiner – Leucémie Espoir ne pouvait, évidemment, pas manquer l’évènement. Le skipper a, ainsi, prévu de quitter Lorient, son port d’attache, pour rejoindre la Cité du Ponant cet après-midi. La caravane du Tour met donc le cap en fin d’après-midi sur Marseille, où se courra demain le raid côtier. Thanks to all the clients who braved the heat and light air on Saturday to come sailing. The wind did not want to cooperate, but even in 4-6 knots, the Gemini moves well - just check the video. We eventually did get some southerly breezes that picked things up in the afternoon. We hope all that attended have a better sense of everything the Legacy 35 and Freestyle 37 have to offer ~ but there is no wind control option ;-)

We jammed our lives into an old station wagon and travelled across Australia to meet our new friend. We have limited sailing experience but believe you can accomplish anything if you are passionate and dedicated to the cause. In this episode, Bonita helps clean up the ocean with Ecobarge. We sail around Whitsunday island stopping off for Lunch at Whitehaven Beach and run into trouble crossing the Whitsunday Passage. We ran over a mooring and though we damaged the prop! We start taking on water as we were sailing across the passage then to discover a fire onboard. This experience was a big learning curve for us and has helped identify the way we solve problems as a team under pressure. We are still learning the ropes of sailing experiencing things for the first time and sharing this journey with you.
