Join the 32 yachts who took part in the Barbados 50 yacht rally event organized in 2016 by Jimmy Cornell of Cornell Sailing Ltd. to commemorate Barbados 50th nation birthday. Santa Cruz, Tenerife, in the Canaries was the 3rd port visited by the fleet and the week there was filled with events for the participants: social events like a philarmonic orchestra performance, a sushi cooking class, a snorkeling pool session, a visit of a Danish Tall Ship and a plaque presentation & cocktail at the Yacht Club de Santa Cruz. A Santa Cruz de Tenerife city tour as well as tour on the island made Tenerife a great place to explore. Filmed in September 2016.

Hows your day going? Mine was the usual relaxing day, went to the markets, had a haircut... WHAT! Yep the day had come where I cut all the dreads off for charity. I want to thank everyone who has contributed towards this decision I made and have donated to Beyond Blue. The statistics of male suicide in Australia is mind blowing. Suicide is not the answer but unfortunately that is the decision that 2292 males made during the year of 2015. Over the past ten years, the number of male deaths by suicide is 3 times higher than females. That equals to 6 male deaths a day. These statistics are extremely confronting to me as I reckon there is so much life to live, so I thought, what can I do to help. I am overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our friends, family and followers that have donated their hard earned cash to assist this foundation in helping those in need. Sailing with a Purpose, this is what we are all about! While we sail, we don't want to just pass through, taking in the pretty sights along the way, we really want to jump in and get involved with the local communities, finding ways to connect and give back. In Bahía Tortugas, about halfway down the Mexican Baja coast, we have a great experience, meeting with a local social development worker who brings us to the two local elementary schools. There, we bring some school supplies to give to those in need and watch them practice a performance for the upcoming Christmas party. We hope you enjoy our videos and adventures.
