We are out on the hard at St. Augustine Marine Center and finishing up on projects while we wait to install the new generator on our new to us 2006 Lagoon Catamaran. The marina uses a forklift to lift out the old generator and to lift in our new one. After replacing, installing and fixing several things the marina gives us a lift back into the water. We get to tie up to the dock overnight after being splashed but have to leave early in the morning. We have to replace an impeller before getting underway and maneuver off the dock in high winds and strong currents in a tight channel to get underway on our shakedown. We breakdown our shakedown sailing trip into 3 days motoring (and some motor sailing) in the ICW. Our mast height of 60' permits us to pass under the fixed bridges in the ICW. We have several electrical issues and minor things with the motor as well as VHF issues on the first leg of our trip. We drop anchor in Daytona the first day, Titusville the second day, and sail home to Vero beach the third and final day of the trip. We are now officially in go time as we have to finish moving aboard and get our house ready to sell.

We catch-up with Lisa Blair 65 days into her world record attempt to circumnavigate Antarctica solo as the first female and fastest sailor ever. Lisa shares the challenges and set backs to date, talks about weather, icebergs, repairs and leaks. A few days after the interview by Sat Phone, disaster strikes and Lisa’s mast comes crashing down. Working in the dark in 9m seas, we share a narration of Lisa's blow-by-blow account of her courageous efforts to save her hull from sinking, and her epic battle to cut her rig free. This is an episode about seamanship and the determination of one hell of a sailor, as she battles fatigue and hypothermia to overcome her biggest challenge yet on her Open 50, named Climate Action Now. What an amazing day on the water today! It's very rare to encounter sharks on our tour but today we saw 15-20 sharks at our frequently visited turtle resting spot! So incredible to see!

Our journey continues, as we visit St. Kitts & Nevis (sorry, but due to technical issues we will post the video on St. Kitts & Nevis later) and we arrive to St. Barths. Saint Barthelemy, a French-speaking Caribbean island commonly known as St. Barts, is known for its white-sand beaches and designer shops. The capital, Gustavia, encircling a yacht-filled harbor, has high-end restaurants and historical attractions - we loved it! Unfortunately because of upcoming storm we had to move to look for better shelter, so we stayed only couple of days... Who would have thought that there are completely abandoned military installations a stones throw from the panama canal. So long and Thanks for all the FISH Ascension Island ! Luckyfish is stocked with fish before sailing 3,000 miles to Barbados. The girls learn to make fish cakes, we have an “Exchanging of the Flags” ceremony at Craig’s, and visit the Met Office at the Airfield to check out the ITCZ. At last, this is a sailing Vlog from a budget catamaran ! NEW EPISODE EVERY FRIDAY Hi Everyone! We are currently preparing for a 1,000 mile passage to Fort Myers, Florida to meet up with owners and lovers of Wharram Catamarans - called a Hui. Its a 3 day party/get together/opportunity to exchange stories and tell lies. We will be out of range of effective internet for a month or so. So with great regret we must say goodbye to any new Luckyfish videos for the time being! Rest assured we will be recording new material AND addressing the many requests for 1. A VIDEO TOUR OF LUCKYFISH and 2. AN EXPLANATION OF HOW 2 MONGOLIAN SISTERS ENDED UP WITH A KIWI ON A STH AFRICAN BUILT BOAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ATLANTIC - Yes, these are your two most popular requests! As well as returning to the Caribbean Islands for the conclusion of SEASON 1. We have yet to work out how to have a cruising experience and record it while spending 36 hours or so each week preparing a 15 minute video. Stew could do with a MAN FRIDAY and a couple of video editors on the other days of the week. But the joy in all this is getting your fantastic comments each week! Thank you all so much. BUT ! Lets not despair - Luckyfish channel says thanks to OUR PATRONS who are making these videos possible and the 5,000 + subscribes who have joined our journey. It is less than 100 days since our very First VLOG!. AND we are about to have a video reach the 100,000 views milestone, which has blown us away. You can find out a whole lot more on these videos by visiting http://www.svluckyfish.com/category/captains-log/ and follow along our journey. Almost every cruiser these days has a cat or wants a cat, but the fact is, few can afford them. Here at Luckyfish Gets Away we believe that cruising has always been about the performance, not the stage. We try to keep our platform simple and sustainable, so we can max out on experiences. Learn how to make a tripline anchor buoy. The Buoy marks the exact location of your anchor so you always know where it is and let other boaters know so they will be less likely to drop there anchor over your anchor chain. The trip line makes retrieving your anchor much easier.

Hello there! Thanks for tuning in! Our journey along the Royal Navy cruisers is getting to an end. But not any kind of end. This time, we are showcasing two battle in the last research of the branch: the Minotaur! I hope you enjoy!
Hey! I failed to upload for my daily April videos for a couple of days :( Getting back on it though. Also trying to schedule the videos to go out at 6am Pacific every morning. I love waking up and having a new, fun Youtube video to watch. We'll keep working on making our videos worthy of the same feeling for you. While it doesn't sound like I was grateful or excited to go paddleboarding, I really was. The rectangular video was from a Facebook Live video we did on our way to the beach. It was a fun way to pass the time and chat with people. The rest of our date was great too. We made it out dry and my hair wasn't too frizzy, so no strange looks during dinner ;) See you tomorrow morning - Jenn & Shane Boards-- Airhead SUP Pace 12'30 (Jenn) Race 14'28 (Shane) Wearing NRS HydroSkin neoprene pants and jackets on both of us.
In this vlog, we go snorkeling in Thunderball Grotto and also see the famous swimming pigs at Big Major's Cay. I feel like this could be one of our best videos yet. I feel that way, I suppose, because it took be days to edit this thing. We had so much footage from the Big Majors / Staniel Cay area, and we also had a ton of fun while we were there, so I hope that results in a a great video. Staniel Cay is just great. The cell service is good, they have food, fuel, water, groceries, and just about anything else you could need. It's a neat island, and the people are just wonderful. Plus, they have Thunderball Grotto - that's the cool cave that was used in one of the James Bond films... but I can't recall which film. Oh well... Right next to Staniel, you have Big Major's Spot. I like to call that one Pork Island, that's where you can find the "Swimming Pigs" - although, none of them were actually swimming while we were there - they've lost their desire to swim since everyone hand-delivers grub directly to their waiting and overflowing slop tub. It's a pretty sterile tourist stop at this point, with 50+ boats anchored off shore while even MORE tour boats ferry in hundreds of paying tourists from Nassau and Georgetown... STILL it's worth the stop of you're in the area just for the novelty of the situation, and we did have fun while we were there Well, I guess that's a good little description. So, watch the video and let us know what you think! Thanks for watching!! 13 Year old Atlanta Georgia boy shot himself dead live on Instagram. It is believed to be accidental
Malachi Hemphill, 13, accidentally killed himself in his bedroom at his family home in Atlanta, Georgia. The footage shows his mother and sister discovering him collapsed on the floor before they cut the feed. This is truly a sad situation.
According to local station Fox 8, the Ohio boy and his four-year-old sister started craving cheeseburgers just before 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. They waited until their mother fell asleep on the couch to grab the keys to their father’s work truck and take their leave (their dad had already gone to bed). Officer Jacob Koehler told FOX 8 that the boy drove about a mile from his house to the local McDonald’s, which entailed driving through four intersections and over a railroad track. And — perhaps most surprising of all — witnesses says the boy obeyed the speed limit and all traffic rules. When the child pulled up to the McDonald’s drive-thru with a piggy bank in tow, McDonald’s employees thought it was a joke. Authorities were alerted when it became clear zero adults were present. According to the Weirton Daily Times, the boy began crying when approached by police (when he finally realized this might kind of be a big deal), and told the officers he and his sister had just wanted cheeseburgers. And guess what — DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE! The children were treated to cheeseburgers and fries as the officers waited for their grandparents to pick them up from the police station (after ruling out that any actual neglect was involved — the kids had eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner that day — they just had a major craving and a hankering for mischief). To all’s well that ends well! Also, TO CHEESEBURGERS. Story from travelandleisure.com

E17 Weekly Blog of our Narrowboat Travels. We traveled from Stoke Bruerne to the River Nene. Another great week on the waterways of England. We visited the 800 year old church at Stoke Bruerne. A night out with the locals for a league game of skittles at a Curry House which used to be a pub and still had the skittles table. Lovely curry and great company. We headed through the Blisworth Tunnel (3057 yards), past Blisworth Marina and up to Gayton Marina. We made new friends on Narrow Boat Gideon and shared a few ales with great reviews. A sneaky cider review from Dave and an excellent score of 10/10. The Mavic Pro flew over the Northampton flight and we then worked the 17 locks in the flight down to Northampton. For the last 3 weeks we had an excellent time in the British Virgin Islands. We were doing our “Sail Away Weeks” where we had 4 couples a week aboard with us sailing in the fabulous BVI. Lovely Caribbean breezes were the norm, blowing as always from the east with sun and just a few showers. The notable exception was our second week which included an unseasonable 2-day gale gusting up over 35 knots! So overall we've sailed a catamaran in fair weather and foul… here's the story Check out our Sail Away Weeks http://www.distantshores.ca/about-us/sail-away-weeks/ All 130 half hour episodes of the Distant Shores TV show are also available on DVD and download at: http://www.distantshores.ca/sailingdv... With the airports open, we find a flight and return to our floating home in the DR. A few quick stops in Santo Domingo to pick up everything we need to add a few life changing improvements to our boat. We'll be doing a more in depth review and installation of the Keco cooler later. But for now, here is some more information on the cooler we installed. http://www.aten.it/KECO_Eng.html If you enjoyed this episode, please give it thumbs up, it helps us out a bunch :) WANT MORE? "Two days in Bangkok was enough for us to stay in 2 different cubic hostels, to walked around a lot, to eat thai cousine, to experience strong sun and even stronger rain, and to visited a temple, but in the end we were already missing the ocean." "Roberta ____________________________________________________________________ “After I finished my Civil Engineering degree in Brazil in the end of 2015 I decided that I wanted to take an extra step. So with the full support of my long time adventure partner I started a Master Degree at Sydney University and that’s how we sold most of our belongings and moved from Brazil to Australia. But 6 months later we realized that actually that was not what we were looking for. So instead of flying back straight to our country, we decided to take a few sabbatical months and travel until the end of 2016. The plan was simple, we wanted to travel to places where it is cheap and/or comfortable, and take the time to think about our own lives so we could decide what we wanted to do from 2017 and on. That’s the story we tell in this first season of Odd Life Crafting” Duca WEEKLY EPISODES EVERY FRIDAY!! We hope to inspire other people to go out and live their dreams. Duca EPISÓDIOS SEMANAIS A CADA SEXTA-FEIRA!! Esperamos inspirar outras pessoas a sair e viver seus sonhos. When you need to go up a mast, safety is paramount. Aside from safety is the logistics of getting your weight up the stick! If you have a friend handy whom you trust to crank a winch, you can get up the mast in no time and with little effort on your part. What do you do if you need to go up and there is no one around who can hoist you? Using a gantline, you can pull yourself up the mast all by yourself. I think we've found the island with the most beautiful beaches in the World. Check out our video and see if you agree! This week we have our good friend Shiner on board with us to crew for our passage to Turks and Caicos. However, the weather Gods have other plans (don't they always!) and throw an unseasonal weather system our way, resulting in days of Westerlies. This means we have the tough decision to make: do we beat into the wind for 2 days and keep to the original plan? Or do we scrap that idea and instead head up to Anegada, an island we had not yet visited? Well, we're pretty soft so the decision was easy: Anegada it was! And what a treat it turned out to be. We found the most beautiful beaches I've seen in the last two years sailing around the world. Anegada offers a completely different experience to the rest of the BVI's and is certainly a must-see for anyone heading to that part of the world. After 10 months of waiting and one failed attempt, our mast is finally back up again! Back in Episode 9 you'll see that we tried to raise our mast, but the new rigging we ordered was not the right size, and we had to bring it back to have it redone. A few month and one weird encounter later, we have it in our hands again and can turn ourselves into a sailboat. Jessica continues her work on getting the cabin top ready for new Awl Grip paint, after removing the Petit EZ Poxy that had been applied only a year ago. Matt works on other projects that are best finished while still in the yard, like varnishing all our trim for the interior. Although everyone is working hard, it's Jessica that makes a break for it with a day at the beach with a few girlfriends. Cheers from the work yard! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. Back in France in the magnificent town of Collioure. Afterwards we bring the boat to Canet-en-Roussillon where BMS prepares the boat for the multihull boat show in La Grande Motte (April 19-23).
Auf unserem Atlantik-Törn von den Kapverden zu den Kanaren hatten wir immer wieder Begleitung von Delfinen. Streckenweise über 30 Tiere. Sie waren so nah, dass wir sie fiepen hören konnten.
