In this final video in the Autoprop H6 rebuild, the blades are re-attached to the hub and bolted in place. This is a critical step in the re-build and one that should be done with care. If the taper roller bearings are put on backwards or the locking mechanism for the blades not fitted correctly, the blades could come away from the hub. Carefully following the instructions here will guide you to the factory approved method of installation and ensure a beautifully working Autoprop H6 propeller

We’re in Ibiza and all the hard work, stress and tears are all forgotten for a while as we have a moment for some much needed reflection over way too much sangria. It’s hard to beat going ashore on your dinghy to a little Spanish restaurant for lunch and over looking all your dreams floating at anchor in the bay below. But then of course as it to be expected in our lives it all goes crazy when the head sail furler breaks and we can’t put the sail away. We end up having to drop it on the front deck and head for shore to make repairs. The joys of a new boat! When the Genoa furler was fitted it seems that the retaining screw was cross threaded so worked itself loose. Luckily in Dave’s vast array of tools he has bolts and a tap and dye set to fix the problem. “Fixing things in beautiful places” is said to be the definition of cruising around the world and after only a week, we completely agree already! But once we had our issues sorted, there’s no better way to unwind than with a few drinks in Blue Marlin and dinner with friends. It was an arduous sail for my son Seb to get La Graciosa, but once there he was cured of his ills. Together we discover another part of the island and prepare for another day long sail to Isla De Lobos. A beautiful journey along the western coast of Lanzarote. Hi Everyone, Lennie and I are preparing to sail to Mexico. The boat is ready and so are we! San Diego was one of our favorite stops in California and it is bittersweet to say goodbye to my home state. You all know we came here for nostalgia and to take my dad sailing on San Francisco bay. The 606 nm Rolex Middle Sea Race, organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, takes place each year and encompasses one of the most scenic courses in the world. 104 boats from 30 nations started the 38th edition. Owing to seriously strong winds and a considerable sea state on the third day, only 35 yachts completed the course confirming the race’s reputation as one of the most challenging in offshore sailing. Centred in the heart of the Mediterranean, the race starts and finishes in Malta. Leaving from Grand Harbour, Valletta, the fleet passes through the Strait of Messina and rounds the active volcano of Stromboli off the northern coast of Sicily. It then continues west past the Aeolian Islands and on to the Egadi Islands, before turning south to Pantelleria and Lampedusa and finally back to the finish. The Rolex Middle Sea Race has been sponsored by Rolex since 2002.

Mein Solotörn beginnt am 24./25. Mai 2017 ab Portoferraio auf Elba. Geplant habe ich Elba im Uhrzeigersinn über die Ost-, Süd- und Westküste zu runden und die Überfahrt nach Korsika anzugehen. Entlang Korsikas Ostküste, von Bastia nach Macinaggio und über Isola Capraia zurück nach Elba, so oder ähnlich meine Planung.

Mein Solotörn begann am 24. Mai 2017 ab Portoferraio auf Elba. Geplant habe ich Elba im Uhrzeigersinn über die Ost-, Süd- und Westküste zu runden und die Überfahrt nach Korsika anzugehen. Leichte Weitwander-Touren im berberischen Rif Segeln von Andalusien nach Marokko, Fahrt zur Blauen Stadt Chefchaouen, Weitwandern im Rif, Besuch der Königsstadt Tetouan, für Familien geeignet Die Macht des marokkanischen Königshauses der Alawiden endete bis vor wenigen Jahren an den Hängen des Rifgebirges, einem Ausläufer des Atlasgebirges. Denn die Bergbewohner, mehrere Berberstämme des Rif, regierten sich selbst. Von der Region Malaga ausgehend, führt der Segeltörn auf einer Sportsegelyacht nach Marokko, danach geht es weiter zur Blauen Stadt Chefchaouen im Rifgebirge, einem Ausläufer des Atlasgebirges. Die Weitwanderung führt durch eine archaische Welt entlang weiter Flusstäler, durch Kiefernwälder und über karge Höhen. Wir übernachten in Chefchaouen, in Berberdörfern und an einsamen Lagerplätzen unter Sternenhimmel. Intensiver Kontakt mit der einheimischen Kultur ist vorprogrammiert: Ihr berberischer Wanderführer stammt aus einer Bauernfamilie, in deren Haus wir auch eine Nacht verbringen dürfen. Die Freundlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft der Rifberber ist legendär und es gibt Gelegenheit, den Berbern bei Pflanzung, Ernte oder Verarbeitung des Hanfs zuzusehen. Am Lagerfeuer, bei Minztee und getrockneten Datteln erzählen wir von Europa, die Berber von ihrem Leben in den Bergen. Nach der Weitwandertour reisen Sie in die Königsstadt Tetouan, deren zauberhafte Medina (Altstadt) zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe zählt. Die Kulturerfahrung wird gekrönt durch den anschließenden Segeltörn nach Gibraltar, der berühmten britischen Kronkolonie, am Fuße des Affenfelsens, der berühmten nördlichen Säule des Herakles.
