Ep 7. When it all goes "Pete Tong" (Sailing Susan Ann II)

We’re in Ibiza and all the hard work, stress and tears are all forgotten for a while as we have a moment for some much needed reflection over way too much sangria. It’s hard to beat going ashore on your dinghy to a little Spanish restaurant for lunch and over looking all your dreams floating at anchor in the bay below. But then of course as it to be expected in our lives it all goes crazy when the head sail furler breaks and we can’t put the sail away. We end up having to drop it on the front deck and head for shore to make repairs. The joys of a new boat! When the Genoa furler was fitted it seems that the retaining screw was cross threaded so worked itself loose. Luckily in Dave’s vast array of tools he has bolts and a tap and dye set to fix the problem. “Fixing things in beautiful places” is said to be the definition of cruising around the world and after only a week, we completely agree already! But once we had our issues sorted, there’s no better way to unwind than with a few drinks in Blue Marlin and dinner with friends.
