I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

3 Benetti Superyachts you may never have heard of Anybody who has visited Benetti Yachts' production facility in Livorno can not fail but to be impressed by their mammoth capacity and incredible turnover of sizeable yachts. To keep such an organisation on top of it's game requires a constant research for new products and a keen eye on market trends. Benetti have certainly succeeded in regularly presenting the market with new models that have been proven to be popular by the numbers in which they sell. This video presents three of their most recent models, that you may not have heard of yet.

We leave Eluthera with only 950 miles separating us from St. Maarten. It's Element's first offshore passage since her refit, and ours since we returned to Florida 3 years ago to lay eyes on her for the first time. We start the journey with a strong breeze and full winds in our sails, covering lots of miles as we leave the Bahamas in the rear view mirror. But a few hours out in standing waves, and we realized that neither of us quite have our sea legs back yet. And Georgie realizes she can't go 5 seconds without being close enough to touch us. But it feels good to be on our way, and we give Elements the chance to show us what she's made of out on the open water. Cheers from the Atlantic Ocean! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. Here's a look at what we've been up to this summer aboard Shadowfax, our family's 1-Design race boat. It's a pretty amazing fleet and here we're taking part in the Scudder Cup regatta. This is Race 3, and we get off to a pretty good start. I'm just playing around with a new sail tracking app called i-sail, and it's pretty good. I hope the rest of the fleet sees this and shares their track in upcoming races. It's always fun to see were you did well (and where you could have done better)!

#donkeylife #beautifutown We visit Rhodes town, the centre is inside the old Castle. We sail our code zero, such a good feeling of freedom! Then we go from Rhodes to Lindos, such a beautiful bay, one of the most amazing anchorages we had. Another Castle to visit and we meet the poor donkeys, we felt really sorry for them taking all the tourists up to the castle. Simon installed our new plotter, he loves it. We experience a really bad thunderstorm, where our neighbours catamaran drags onto the beach and simon decides to go and help him. Carla's brother and sister in law go back home. We have another lovely beach BBQ. We depart Nuku Hiva to head south and into the wind! The reason being is that there is a haulout facility in one of the southern islands that we needed to get to for Adam to fly out for a week of work, so we opted to do the Northern islands first as we had more time to explore them than the smaller southern islands. It was a great trip all things considered when you’re heading into the wind….But we were so happy to have arrived into a beautiful bay that we had all to ourselves – for at least one night anyway! The next morning the swell direction had changed for the worst and we had a horrid rolly northerly squeezing into the bay and sending L’Atty into a dance frenzy around her anchor. We headed East to find a sheltered bay and ended up skipping to the next island Tahuata where most of the boats in the area seemed to have gathered! It was great catching up with some cruising friends that we hadn’t seen since the Caribbean, but we soon had to depart for the Atuona Port of Hiva Oa where we got L’Atty lifted out (there are no marinas in these islands..) and got a well-earned break for 10 days. Cheers, Sarah & Adam X Check out the video above and let us know what you think by liking or subscribing. A tiki tour to Wellington to go racing on the Bull 12 "Bullistic", but unfortunately it wasn't to be, because "WINDY WELLINGTON" lived up to its name! Full respect to the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club volutneer race committee team for waiting as long as they did, hoping the conditions would ease. A few boats went out for a send, but our team decided to enjoy each other's company on shore instead. There is always next time!

Building a cruising sailboat After tidying and sorting everything after last week's big roll over, we set the boat up and I start to prepare for the coachroof, combings and decks. Music tracks "Sit and Wonder" and "The Great Divide" available on iTunes, Amazon etc. EP "Shake a Leg" and album "Out of the Moloch" All music from these videos is available from: https://ynotb.bandcamp.com/album/the-sv-tapatya-tracks If you like what you see, leave a tip in the Tips Jar; http://www.svtapatya.com/the-tips-jar.html Follow the build, along with the story of my first cruising adventure (The Miss Molly I Adventures) on my website; http://www.svtapatya.com Support the build, the vlog, the blog and the writing on; https://www.patreon.com/sv_tapatya Or follow me on Instagram for various shots of my boating life; https://www.instagram.com/sv.tapatya This is the story of my building of a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk-rigged, schooner dory. The boat utilises a hard-chined, plywood construction and this design of boat is a proven, capable, ocean-going vessel. Boat building with plywood is a relatively easy and cost-effective way to produce a strong, monocoque-style boat hull. These videos aim to show the way in which I go about it. Thank you! Tony

Sheet lightning lit the sky as we listened to the howling wind blow through the rigging on deck. Kenzie got up and tried to video the intense lightning, but the camera had a hard time picking up the flashes of light. The next morning we bundled ourselves up in our coats and ventured in the dinghy over to the island where we were hoping we would be able to get internet. Once at the main office we paid a fee to gain access to the Wifi and spent an hour or two checking E-mails, bank accounts and getting in touch with friends and family. We even got to Skype with Kenzie's parents, which was awesome! After getting our internet fill, we headed back to our boat. The dinghy ride was extremely rough even though we were able to stay up on plane the whole time. By the time we got back to the boat we were both soaking wet and Kenzie's eyes burned from all the salt water. We spent the rest of the stormy day inside Turtle watching movies, sleeping and reading books. The following morning we wanted to go adventuring on the Island and look for the old pirate's lair. Even though it was still extremely windy we had a nice walk around the Island to the Hogs Cay anchorage and were stoked to see where the pirates used to camp out and replenish their water. The trails on Warderick wells are fairly easy to follow, but can be hard to know which way to go in some areas. The key is to look for piles of rocks when in doubt. There are hundreds of wells on the Island that are incredible to see! Each one is unique and Randall can't help but imagine pirates hiding their treasure deep inside them! We have loved our time here on Warderick Wells and hope you enjoy seeing some of the cool, fun things we experienced while there. Thanks for watching! ******************************************************** Affiliate links have been added to this description to help our viewers find products shown in our videos. “As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.” Thank you. ********************************************************

We head offshore on a 6 day passage from Kavieng, Papua New Guinea to the extremely remote Hermit Islands in the Pacific Ocean. https://www.sailingnandji.com In this Episode of Sailing Nandji, we are in Kavieng, Papua New Guinea. We visit the local market and prepare for our next passage. Heading out to sea we embark on a 400nm to the remote Hermit Islands. These islands are a long way from anywhere and very remote. If we need help, it is not coming anytime soon! Sailing so close to the equator means long periods of no wind and flapping sails. Lots of squalls with heavy rain and strong winds followed by hot clear skies. Most people imagine that the ocean is full of huge waves bigger than sky scrapers and strong winds like a non stop cyclone. In the doldrums, it is more like a desolate desert leaving you pining for a breeze... We love our time sailing offshore, as there are always highlights and tough times on long passages, that is what makes sailing offshore such a memorable experience! We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We just arrived to Indonesia after cruising the Pacific islands. We departed Australia 12 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of no where, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades! SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL. https://www.youtube.com/c/frothlyfesailingnandji CLICK THE BELL to know when NEW Nandji videos are up! Cantiere delle Marche 111' Explorer Yacht Walk Through Video It’s hard to believe that Cantiere delle Marche are still a relatively new shipyard. In less than a decade they have dominated the market for high quality explorer yachts in the 80’ - 120’ segment, developing a reputation for outstanding quality, superb engineering, and a total commitment to customer satisfaction. I have wanted to video one of their yachts for a long time, so when the opportunity to produce a video of the 111’ “Hyhma” presented itself I jumped at the chance, even though the yacht is not for sale at the moment. It is impossible to tell the story of “Hyhma” though without also referencing the shipyard that built her. This video opens the window on both the yacht…and the yacht builder. Many Italian shipyards claim to achieve the same excellence as their Northern European counterparts, Cantiere delle Marche never make such claims...they just let their yachts speak on their behalf.
