We sailed across from Tobermory to the South Channel. It was super remote with tons of little islands to tuck behind. The channel going South was very narrow, full of shoals, and it was wavy and windy so we had to turn around and wait for the winds to calm down. We later hung around Franklin Island and stopped by Dillon Cove Marina for some hand made waffle cones and ice cream! We then sailed around Parry Sound and had a great time with all the wind and no waves.

We finally sailed to Vava'u in Tonga! This is a place we have been looking forward to returning to ever since we had an amazing dive holiday here 4 years ago, we knew it was choc full of amazing dive spots, idyllic beaches and best of all for yachties - over 40 anchorages, many people choose to live on their yachts here and we can see why. It was good to see on our dives that the coral is still vibrant and healthy here, the beaches and water clarity are amazing and the air is filled with the sound of birdsong and insects at night - always a good sign of a healthy ecosystem. In this episode we revisit some old favourite spots, find some new ones and basically show you the best of Vava'u - enjoy! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! Unfortunately during the first charter the anchor dragged and they ended up on the bottom. The charterers were very nice and admitted the damage, so I went down to have a look, here is what I found!

As we sail through the remote Kimberlies which is only accessible by boat we come across an abandoned home up a creek in the middle of no where! Deserted and no one to be seen, we find out that it was called squatters arms, a couple who sailed in by yacht 20 years ago had set up a home and built a fresh water swimming tank, grew a lush tropical garden and lived there for many years. In 2006 the Bavaria factory was in full production. Yachts rolled off the production line with staggering efficiency. Built like a long-distance cruiser, the Bavaria 46 Yacht has an excellent pedigree. First impressions when boarding this yacht from astern as you pass through the transom entry point she feels like a fifty footer. The extra-wide transom twin helm position was a revolution when it was introduced on this model. At the time yacht, designers wanted to make boats go faster by making the aft more buoyant. Extending the aft to achieve more buoyancy would have involved having an enormous central helm position. The idea of dividing the helm position changed yacht design forever. With a twin Helm position, Bavaria could make yachts in the range faster, offer better accommodation and improve visibility for steering when healing. A twin Helm position also allowed for easy access through the transom. The six winch sail control system in the cockpit means you won't need to leave the cockpit to put a reef in or adjust the sails. Walking around the deck; she has a solid feel, and as I move around the wide walkway decks, they are a typical feature of Bavarian Yachts. A great above deck feature is the forward storage locker, it's vast and will accommodate all sorts of kit including warps fenders and additional sails. Below deck, the saloon with a set back integrated linear galley works perfectly on a yacht of this size. Light fills the saloon through multiple hatches giving her an even bigger feel than her forty-six feet. Cabins are ample size and are served by twin heads. We recommend a viewing of this popular yacht, she is keenly priced to sell and is open to sensible offers with some small cosmetic upgrading needed.

I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

This week we opened the diesel tank of our sailboat that was full for over 22 years. We spent a week cleaning it and it was a loooot of work. Guess how many liters of diesel our tank supports! If you are new here... we are a Brazilian couple that have just bought a 44ft hot galvanized steel sailboat (Dinieper Tropic 1200) and is on the mission of bringing her back to life after 22 years abandoned on the hard. Once we are done, the plan is to sail her to our home town Florianópolis so we can finish building our land base, a Tiny Shipping Container House that we are building ourselves without any prior experience. Season 5 - Episode 88 : Preparation and departure. Welcome to Season 5 of our channel !  On this season we take you along with us on a yacht delivery we were hired to do helping take a 74ft power yacht from Seattle, Washington to Los Angeles, California. We are calling these "Yacht Delivery Chronicles" a series we will continue to make with future deliveries.
