After collecting the repaired Wingaker at North Sails we sail together with Eight and Scilla towards Le Marin and Sainte Anne on Martinique. Interesting kind of people anchoring in the bay … Scilla joins us further north where we meet up with Idefix again in St Pierre

How to improve downwind speed in a catamaran during ARC 2019? This video shows clips of our Atlantic crossing and experiments on different sail configurations. With the sails that we had on board, we try wing-on-wing in various configurations. We also show sail repairs and repairs to chaffed ropes as we head towards St Lucia from the Canary Islands. Much of this video was edited while we were at sea during the crossing. I mention at the end that I mostly make the videos for my mother and father who enjoy them so much. I dedicate it to my mother who passed away during our crossing, and to my father who supported her with tender care. The last video of the second week of our crossing is still to come. WE MAKE OUR VIDEOS PUBLIC TO SHARE OUR ENJOYMENT OF OUR OCEAN WORLD. If you enjoyed this video please subscribe and consider making a TAX-DEDUCTABLE DONATION to THE CURE ALLIANCE https://www.thecurealliance.org/donate/ . This NOT FOR PROFIT foundation is working to find a cure to vascular lesions in the brain, called CCMs (for cerebral cavernous malformations). About 1 in 500 of us have a silent CCM lesion in our brain. CCMs may unexpectedly bleed and may cause stroke or seizure. People with the genetic form of the disease have multiple lesions. Your contribution will help find a cure. Lisa has dedicated her career to finding cures for neurological diseases and would greatly appreciate any level of support from our BioTrek-sailing audience. Join us as we are chased by the Dread Pirate Roberts down the French Riviera coastline. We head for the yachting haven of Saint-Tropez, where we are confounded by all the glitz, the glamour, it's all definitely Absolutely Fabulous, but we find no love - definitely no love for a small yacht like Tranquilo!

There were many great stories in this year’s race to Hobart but one of the most inspiring and emotional was saved 'til the end. The arrival in Hobart of the first indigenous crew in this famous race’s 75 year history was a landmark event. It was also a fine tribute to the work of skipper Wayne Jones – whose idea this was - and the dogged determination of a crew, many of whom were new to sailing much less offshore racing.

Cruising Fiji a DESERT Island BIRTHDAY Jo's Desert Island Birthday ! In this episode we continue to enjoy village life and explore desert islands. The Lau group is one of the most special places we have been to in the South Pacific. We meet Soki the village headman who invites all the visiting yachts along to a village picnic. And in the tradition of all great picnics, it is a very wet day! We explore the Cave of Skulls and climb to the lookout behind the village. We then spend a lovely afternoon chatting with Tai - covering topics ranging from the best drinking coconut, the origin of the skulls and the best way to prepare some of the local veggies. We partake in some Kava for Tai's birthday, and celebrate Jo's 50th birthday with good friends on our very own desert island. With favourable weather forecast, we finally bid a fond farewell to Fulanga and make our way Westwards towards Suva, Fiji's capital city. We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! Subscribe now and join us as we continue our salty travels around the world. https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingDoubleTrouble?sub_confirmation=1 👏Credits: Thanks to 'Shure ' microphones for voiceover sound. 🎼Music: DT Theme tune - 'Happy' by MBB https://soundcloud.com/mbbofficial Creative Commons — Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported — CC BY-SA 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... From club racing in the Midwest to sailing the Great Lakes, to a charter boat captain in the Caribbean, his passion for boating is very evident in the enthusiasm he brings to his brokerage career. Prior to joining David Walters Yachts, George had a very successful career in Advertising and Marketing where he was responsible for client development and new product design. As a professional yacht broker, George is especially attentive to client needs and expectations. One of his specialties is the extra time he spends with each client to better understand their needs. Derek's Bio: https://www.davidwaltersyachts.com/yacht-brokers/derek-jarvis/22 Raised in the small mining towns of northern Ontario, Derek found his interest in all things ocean watching Mike Nelson on Sea Hunt, the 1950s television series. While backpacking in Europe in 1972, Derek was offered his first position as crew on a pre-war wooden cutter bound for Brazil. This is when the passion came to life. Derek learned navigation and seamanship during this voyage, and his talents have grown exponentially over the years. By 1986, Derek had owned 2 of his own sailing vessels and spent 12 years cruising the Caribbean and Pacific Islands. Derek then captained sailing yachts up to 80 feet in size both privately owned and by charter and has delivered vessels to all corners of the globe. He has logged over 175,000 nautical miles and completed 7 trans-Atlantic and 3 trans-Pacific crossings. In 2002 Derek began a new chapter as a yacht broker, working for a local brokerage in Fort Lauderdale. It wasn’t long before Derek’s knowledge and expertise brought him to the forefront as the “go-to guy” for sailing vessels within the firm. Honest, easygoing, and knowledgeable are a few of the adjectives previous clients have used to describe Derek. He now hopes to help you achieve the dream he has lived.
Randy's Bio: https://www.davidwaltersyachts.com/yacht-brokers/randy-greenfield/18 Randy has a love of boating and the ocean developed during his college years in Santa Barbara, California majoring in Economics and exploring the Channel Islands. His first long-distance voyage was delivering the beautiful, teak construction, Sparkman and Stevens designed sloop "Orient" from Los Angeles to Guaymas Mexico for the film "Lucky Lady" starting Gene Hackman, Lisa Minnelli, and Burt Reynolds. After a few years working, Randy started a Yacht Brokerage and Dealership in California selling both Power and Sailing Boats, built in the USA and Europe. Randy has spent many years cruising and racing on the Pacific coast competing in all the Mexican races, two Transpacs and one Victoria to Maui race. He moved his family to South Florida 14 years ago and developed as a Yacht Broker traveling to many of the manufacturers in Italy, France, and Holland to view new construction and understand the evolution of Yacht Design in larger Motor and Sailing Yachts. In 40 years as a Licensed Yacht Broker, Randy has always gained a great deal of satisfaction from understanding his client's wants and needs. Now based in Palm Beach, Randy enjoys the complete process of listening to the Buyers and Sellers as he continues to provide the best possible service now and in their future buying and selling their boats.

Now that the drama of the Coast Guard rescue has died down, Magnus gets to work fixing Peanut’s carburettor so that we can continue to head north and out of the Great Sandy Strait into safer, more open waters. There’s a little glitch with the carburettor fix, but in the end Magnus gets Peanut going again and we are able to finally go to land and explore. We also make a start on knotting together baggy wrinkles. It’s a task very suited to long passages! Thanks for following along with our journey and, of course, thanks for watching, and especially, thanks for subscribing, liking and sharing. These extra things help us out a great deal. Proceeds from this video will be donated to the Coral Reef Alliance. Donations can also be made directly by visiting their website: http://www.coral.org Tarka is a 1973 Albin Vega 27 (8.2m) that I bought sight-unseen and without sailing experience on the island of St. Martin in April of 2017. I was thrust head-first into ocean sailing as I got Tarka safely south from what would become the most devastating hurricane seasons on record. We are now working our way west towards the Pacific. Additional support for Tarka’s sail for CORAL (The Coral Reef Alliance) comes from contributions by: Soylent - Healthy provisioning for the long offshore passages Sta Lok - Swage-less terminals for portions of Tarka’s rigging, making it an easy DIY job and allowing for easy inspection Victron Energy - Providing monitoring solutions for Tarka's batteries, to ensure we always have enough juice to do what we need to. === Music credits: Wings - Nicolai Heidlas: https://www.hooksounds.com/royalty-free-music/wings/50643/ Dance With Me – Ehrling: https://soundcloud.com/ehrling

Sailing around the Cape Verde Archipelago is tough. The Atlantic doesn't let you down. We had waited for the best weather window to sail back from Santiago Island to Sao Vicente Island. About 150 nautical miles passage. The forecast was 15 to 20 knots on the beam. Sounds all good in theory, but in reality it was hard Atlantic sailing due Northwest for 24 hours, day and night. It was just me Nat and Galopin. And thank you Galopin. If anyone watching thinks sailing around the Cape Verde Islands is bikini, cocktails and smooth sailing... watch this carefully and multiply by 100. Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube! On this episode of WE|Sail, we take a break from sailing for a few months while hiding out from hurricanes in Guatemala, so we do as much exploring inland as we can, starting with a beautiful little place called Antigua. This quaint little town is centrally located and absolutely covered with color and historic old ruins of some of the first Spanish settlers to arrive here. We spend several days just meandering around and getting to know this amazing Central American town. One of the main attractions here is the several surrounding active volcanoes, one of which erupts hourly, aptly named Volcan Fuego! We join a local tour company to do an overnight trip where we climb Volcan Fuego's nearest and larger neighbor, Volcan Actenango where we are be blessed with amazing views of Volcan Fuego's eruptions all night long! It is an amazing journey and actually much more difficult than any of us expected. Join Peter and Tom sailing California, Mexico and the Sea of Cortez! In this episode we explore San Miguel Island, one of the most remote outposts of the US National Parks Service, and sail on to Santa Cruz Island, nearly catching fire on the way! Peter and Tom are gay sailors who learned to sail relatively recently in the San Francisco Bay, before casting off the lines to cruise Mexico and sail around the world! It can feel lonely, left out & down right depressing just going through our daily routines & catching any spare time the kids would have for us. Well, we decided to do something about that, we set off on a journey around Australia in our RV until karma had other plans. Our lives took a different direction after this, which allowed us to grab a lifetime dream that we didn’t think was ever possible but in reality, it was. Please join two boomers as we embark on our new chapter & how we manage life & family from our MacIntosh 47’ sailboat heading home to Australia.
