On our way south, to Grenada, we stopped in the famous Tobago Cays and spent couple of days swimming with turtles in the clear waters and enjoying tranquility. Tobago Cays are an archipelago located in the Southern Grenadines of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, comprising five small islands and extensive coral reefs. The cays - Petit Rameau, Petit Bateau, Baradal, Petit Tabac and Jamesby - are all uninhabited and are a popular tourism destination. Tourists also enjoy sun bathing on the white sand beaches. Extended parts of the islands are so shallow that you can walk on sand covered with less then 1meter of water, nothing else surrounding you. The islands are so close to each other that they create a very characteristic scenario of the Tobago case. Definitely it is a must destination to visit! WE ARE LOOKING FOR WORK! The boat is constructed of exterior quality plywood, sealed with epooxy and sheathed in glass fibre and epoxy. One of the great beauties of these boats is that the ballast keel is fitted towards the end of the build, enabling the boat to be kept lower in the shed for most of the construction time. Welcome back and Happy New Year! We've been working on Arabella for four years now. We cut the first tree in January of 2016 and it has been a wild ride since then! There have been plenty of challenges along the way. We look forward to solving these challenges every time but it also takes a lot of energy... so this past year we decided to take a little bit more time to ourselves to try to recharge the batteries. Keira and Alix took a trip to Paris to visit Alix's family and Steve took the week to relax in the woods while hunting (nope, didn't get much). After returning we decided to look a step ahead and harvest some root stock for some grown knees. This would provide the wood we harvest the time to season properly before being installed in Arabella down the road when they are needed. Knees are supports that connect the frames to the deck beams and have to be very sturdy. They often are made from Hackmatack or Tamarack as these usually grow in bogs and form long buttresses in their root stock. We don't have any of those growing around here so we decided to try to see what we can find out of white oaks growing on the property, which we need to harvest anyways. I am sailing from San Sebastian to Tenerife. The berth situation is rather difficult on the island. Hence, I am doing a few anchor stops again. I am experiencing my deepest point of this journey when the anchor harness breaks at night in difficult conditions. Fortunately, both anchor alarms switch on and luckily I get away just with the bad experience. Then it goes to Santa Cruz on Tenerife and further on to Lanzarote. I finally get a berth for Jambo in Marina Rubicon until the end of the year. Here, I am also recovering very quickly from past week's efforts and everything is fine again. he 2019 CUBAR Odyssey, a biennial powerboat cruise organized by San Diego Yacht Club was held October 30 – November 17, 2019. This year’s event featured 27 powerboats cruising the coast of Baja California and visiting six Mexican ports along the way. One of the missions of the 2019 CUBAR Odyssey was a philanthropic effort to provide medical supplies to the volunteer ambulance services of Bahia de Tortugas. Participants of the 2019 CUBAR Odyssey planned ahead to collect financial donations and supplies to bring to Bahia de Tortugas. One of the major contributors was the Montecito Fire Department, who was able to provide a variety of uniforms and medical supplies no longer in use at their station which helped stock the ambulance and support the Bahia de Tortugas community.

Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. We are for a treat now - Isabelle’s favorite place in Indonesia - we get to visit Ubud - famous for their handcrafts markets and less noisy lifestyle compared to Kuta beach. We visit local Balinese shows, KACAK & fire show, take a bicycle tour, with a breathtaking rice terraces; The Sacred Monkey Forest and enjoy great & cheap massages and just chill. Later we have to go to Denpasar to fix my computer and go to Kuta beach where fun continues. Until it’s time to leave and we got bullied by Bali Ferry… Join us! We've been breaking down way too much and I've isolated the problem to the main fuel tank, so with the tank low and Margarida being back is time to do the smelly job. Soon after we moved from Cayo Holandes to Cayo Chichime where we found ourselves with the right conditions to climb the Chichime wreck and go for a treasure hunt.
