Installing a Android Double Din Car Stereo with GPS, Bluetooth, and WIFI. I really liked how this system updated the look and function of my car's audio system at a budget friendly price. Even though the Android Car Stereo was easy to install, fitting it in the dash kit proved to be a challenge. You can go straight to the video of the install below or just continue reading. What Was Installed: Link For 10.1 Android Double Din Car Stereo: https://amzn.to/3eocZrX Single/Double DIN Dash Kit for 2001 - 2004 Volvo S60/V70 (Gray): https://amzn.to/3mwRNVe Stereo Radio Wire Harness and Antenna Adapter: https://amzn.to/32jxeor Compatible with: Volvo: 2000 2001 2002 2003 S40 / V40, 2001-2009 S60, 1999-2006 S80, 2001-2007 V70, 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 XC70 - No Factory Premium Amp So Why Go The A Android Stereo You won't find a radio like this in your dad's old truck. It's jam-packed with features designed to bring your music to the current generation. In addition to all the functions of a regular car stereo, you'll also have all the features of your smart phone. From videos, navigation, to even monitoring your car's ECU, this will allow you to do a lot. Wiring An Android Car Stereo Wiring an Andriod stereo is pretty easy if you buy the car specific wiring harness. You will notice that the wire colors for the wiring kit will match your Android Car Stereo wiring. It is simply a matter of stripping them off and matching them up. I usually use heat shrink butt connectors and a heat gun when doing this kind of wiring. Heat Shrink Butt Connectors: https://amzn.to/3qmRDkl Dual-Temperature Heat Gun Kit: https://amzn.to/3eq7Qje Car Dash Kit Was A Little To Snug Getting the 10.1 Android to fit in the dash kit was a little difficult, but with a razor we managed to make it work. If you have a Double Din Stereo, you're going to need a dash kit; otherwise, your installation won't look very professional. The dash kit we got would fit both a double din and a single din radio in a color that matched our dash. Even with shaving it to fit our radio, it looked great. For the removal and install of the Radio in a 2001 - 2004 Volvo S60/V70 please refer to the video. Have a look at 4 great examples of Flybridge Motor Yachts that I have taken from our used boat archive to make this video. The video focuses mainly on accommodation available in mid-range Flybridge Cruises that you can find in the used market today. Astondoa; With more than 100 years of shipbuilding experience, Astondoa is known for manufacturing custom boats offering quality products that meet the needs of each client. This Astondoa Flybridge Cruiser was built in 1975 and is constructed of wood, although even close up she looks as if she is made of GRP. The length overall is 13.72 meters that's 45 feet. She has accommodation on 2 levels. It's unusual to find such a modern-looking cruiser built using wood to such great effect. On the flybridge, an integrated radar arch and bench helm seat will leave plenty of space for sun lounging. The saloon feels Light and airy and is superbly laid out Makes her feel even bigger than it is. The lower helm station has great visibility over the bow, that's something that you don’t find on many flybridge motor yachts. The addition of a serving hatch into the galley from the lower helm is a nice practical touch, helping to make it easy for passing food and drinks through from the galley to the lower helm station. A simple galley has everything that's needed on a boat of this size including side-deck access at one end and an opening into lounge and helm areas at the other. Below the saloon and lower helm station are three good sized cabins with the master cabin forward. access to the engine and generator is through the after-sundeck service and maintenance will be easy in this well a well laid out space. Couach has been a pioneer in the motor yacht market since 1897, This Guy Couach Flybridge Motor Yacht is 15 meters long. She has a strong deep V planing hull that supports twin GM Detroit Diesel engines, they power two high-speed three-blade propellers on conventional shafts. The well-proportioned aft cockpit is high sided for safety at sea. Having a semi-integrated swim platform allows easy access to the water, whereas the hydraulic Passerelle enables safe transit to shore. The passerelle can also be used as a diving platform when at anchor. A good size lounge with a deep high gloss wood finish makes this lounge space perfect for entertaining and chilling with your guests. On a lower level, the companionway leads to a large forward master bedroom with an en-suite shower and heads for the master cabin and a separate shower and heads for two single rooms compartments. On the Flybridge Power trim tabs operated from the helm flybridge allow the skipper additional control at high speed. Azimut 50 Flybridge Motor Yacht Founded over 50 years ago, Azimut has always sought to create valued products investing in innovation and technology for their clients. This is a beautiful example of an Azimut 50 Flybridge Motor Yacht, it was commissioned in September 2007. Powered by twin 330 Caterpillar engines on a shaft drive system. She is the two cabin owner’s version. Sunseeker Manhattan 64 This Manhattan 64 is considerably bigger than the other boats in the video. Sunseeker is a premium brand with a well-earned reputation for style and luxury. The hydraulic Passarella stretches neatly over the swim platform, this can comfortably accommodate a medium size rib. A weighted table can be positioned anywhere in the seated area of the yacht. a yacht of this size allows for the galley to be situated in the saloon. A raised lower helm and lounge area offers excellent 360 visibility for both skipper and guests. this yacht is lavished with gadgets The accommodation below is simply amazing lots of space and luxury cabins with en sweet and heads compartments. Above is what you would expect to find on a luxury motor yacht of this size. She is truly a magnificent example of British craftsmanship. Protected from most weather conditions the aft cockpit lounge is a great space to spend time on this beautiful boat The interior lounge is spacious, adorned in a luxury wood finish and leather upholstery. This two-cabin version of the Azimut 50 most certainly lives up to the company pledged to create valued products for their clients. The saloon helm position is raised offering a superb vision for the skipper in all directions. Below is a galley that can easily cope with the needs of any owner and crew Beyond the galley is a well-proportioned master cabin with en sweet shower and heads compartment. Again, almost equally proportioned to the master cabin is the guest bedroom having its own separate on sweet heads and shower. Moving up to the flybridge The shaped lounge offers to seat guests who can relax facing any direction.

#sailing #sailing around the world #cruising #sailboat #Travel #adventure #sail , #monohull #Boat life #sailing vlog We try all sorts of sail configurations to speed up our journey from Martinique to Curaçao which turns out to be much faster than we wanted ! Before we leave, we need to re-provision the boat, fill up with water, fuel and cooking gas but when we get ready to leave the next morning, the auto pilot does not work. Woody gets that fixed and then we set off. As the wind dies, we hoist our ballooner sail at the front of the boat and manage to drop it again when our angle is taking us too off-course. This is when we have problems as we forget to complete one task when dropping the sail. This causes more problems than we need and Irenka finds it very difficult to sleep while racing along on the boat, as the wind is picking up and there is no way to reef the boat ! This is our DIY, Do It Yourself, 100L/hr watermaker that we built from scratch during lockdown which cost us around $1,000 (EURO) total from standard parts we bought online. I must admit, we had the High Pressure pump gifted to us, so it may cost you guys a tiny bit more, so lets round it up to about $1,500 and you have yourself a water maker for your boat that would normally cost you about $4,000-5,000. Well, that's not entirely true, a $5,000 system will have power saving pumps, digital circuitboards with self flushing systems and alarms, but as we're going to be out in remote places traveling around the world, we wanted everything to be extremely simple and easily fixed because out here on the water we're constantly hearing everyone complain about issues with their watermakers having to wait weeks for spare parts or diagnostics. I hope you guys learn something and enjoy the video of how we made a watermaker on our sailboat. It took six weeks for Rob and rowing partner, Phil Stubbs, to complete winning the inaugural Atlantic Rowing Race. Skip forward to 2014 and, married with three children, Rob and his wife Rachel purchased Javelot, a 43 ft Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Armed only with Rob's 3 years of racing P class yachts from the age of 11 to 13, and Rachel's non existent sailing knowledge, We set off to learn the ropes of ocean sailing. We broke stuff, replaced stuff and got to know their boat before heading offshore with the kids, Finn (then 13), Declan (then 11) and Ivan (then 8), in tow. Through trial and error we have become confident wayfarers, kind of. The plan? To sail around the world. Part of the journey will be retracing Rob’s eldest brother Kerry’s travels at sea. Using Kerry’s original letters from the 1970’s we hope to retrace his movements from Australia through Indonesia and South East Asia to Cambodia where Kerry’s life was cut short after straying into Cambodian waters in 1978. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #TheCruisingKiwis

The Northern Abacos, Bahamas have it all from tropical islands, sandy beaches, great snorkeling and spearfishing to kayaking adventures in mangroves. We start off kayaking around the mangrove near the wreck of the Stranded Naked pontoon before an Easter potluck on Green Turtle Cay. Shortly after we sail over to Manjack Cay where we find extraordinary snorkel and spearfishing. The glassy conditions make for great snorkeling around the outer reef on the Atlantic side. The challenges of using epoxy to fit big backing plates for our Dyneema chainplate loops in a December in North Wales. Will the epoxy cure? As we have tested our Dyneema chainplates loops to 4,000kg we need to make sure we have great backing plates for them. They need to be strong enough to sail around the world on our 44 year old boat! We are changing all the standing rigging on our 1977 Rival 38 to Dyneema synthetic rigging. That includes all shrouds, stays and even the chainplates for both masts of our ketch rig. If you would like to encourage us then you can support us on Ko-Fi! https://ko-fi.com/sustainablesailing/ This is the fourth episode in our Dyneema series that will cover all the design choices, the practicalities of a completely DIY re-rig and then how it works out when we go sailing. Our goal is a rig that is: - stronger - lighter - cheaper - allows us to sail faster - lasts longer - can be DIY maintained even replaced, anywhere in the world We are refitting a 44 year old Rival 38 for a Sustainable Sailing retirement in a few years. Two years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all electric (motor, cooking etc). We have fitted new FR4 backing plates for the mizzen chainplates, this shows fitting the backing plates for the main mast on the port side of the saloon.. Our Chainplates are essentially an overhand knot soft shackle with the "eye" above deck (the shrouds get lashed to this). The knot is below the backing plate. As you know we take preventative maintenance and upgrades very serious here on Avocet and always try to install the best systems for our lifestyle. While cleaning and rebuilding our fiberglass freshwater tanks, we discovered that our water was not as clean as we initially thought. Fortunately we had installed 3 filters to keep the "nasty" out of our bodies, but were determined to see how fresh our freshwater could be. Acuva is a water filtration company that uses UV light to purify water. UV disinfection kills harmful microorganisms by disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions meaning you get squeaky clean water every time. The company's UV-LED water disinfection systems are designed with precise optic and hydrodynamics. Water flows through the chamber in a controlled environment, matching water velocity and UV irradiance; creating consistent purification. The systems are flow-activated, and use minimal power consumption which is a major benefit to liveaboards as power is another vital resource. Want an Acuva unit of your own? We have a discount code! YANMAR 3GM30F Top End Rebuild with NO EXPERIENCE! Pt. 1 I Ep. 31 If you have been watching our sailing couple vlog so far, you will know we took Indiana on a voyage to the Solent and sailed our sailboat back to Brighton. We came back to 6 litres of water in our YANMAR engine bilge and some serious engine issues! Our YANMAR 3GM30F needed some work! With the cost of a marine mechanic being way more than we could afford, we decided to roll up our sleeves and tackle the job head on! In this episode you we will show you how to remove a cylinder head and in future episodes, you will see us get the cylinder head refurbished, which includes lapping vales and skimming the mating surface. We also undertake an injector overhaul and hunt for a head gasket. You may have seen our 'HOW to get your ENGINE STARTED' episode earlier in the year, when we had issues cold starting our diesel engine. We guess this is the price you pay for buying a sailboat with no experience! When buying a sailboat, we thought we would have more sailing experience by now, but it seems we have got more experience in rigging and engine maintenance! This is the reality of living aboard a sailboat. However, our Gibsea 372 has proven herself many times over. so lets hope with a little more elbow grease, we will soon be back out sailing around the UK and then one day, sailing around the world! Stay tuned for PT.2 of the YANMAR engine Top End Rebuild with No Experience! Want a glimpse of normal sailing life aboard? Servicing a Lewmar 64 Ocean Series Winch onboard our J Boats J/46 while at Nanny Cay Marina in the BVI. Curtis does a quick service on our winches. This is what real boat life is. Much of our time is spent doing maintenance on our sailboat. Note, yes, we know we should pull the winch base, but we didn't have time that day. A quick refresh is better than nothing and keeps things running smooth between full rebuilds. Link to Parts Diagram: https://www.lewmar.com/node/15035 Want to learn more? The Sailing project Atremis EP.12 - Don't forget to subscribe !!!! This week we pull the universal M25xp out of the boat. With only 700 hrs the motor runs fine. The issue lies with a small oil leak from the pan a ton of rust and the need for new motor mounts. I thought process is - if we just took it out why not rebuild the entire motor. CAN I GET AN AMEN lol #catalina30 #universalM25xp #diesel #boats #sailing #sailboat #adventure #diy #howto #kubota Over the next few weeks we will completely overhaul the diesel and then re install once it is complete shout out to my frien Tim and Richie for your help getting her out Dont forget to hammer that SUBSCRIBE button Insta - @pussfoot44 FB -The Sailing Project Artemis FB - Sailing Adventurs OG Atremis Merch https://sailing-project-artemis.creator-spring.com/

After all the fiberglass, foam, and fairing compound from the last few weeks, we get to the pretty stuff for the custom refrigerator (oh heck maybe with a bit more of all of that, too): the drop-in lids are topped with cherry and cherry burl, and they're made to be snugly dropped into a larger lid that will be hinged. Also, see how the locust grate for the shower and head came together. Setting the sole in there a bit higher up in the boat allows the sole in there to reach further outboard. The additional horizontal real estate gives good access to move the handle on the side of the solids container. The non-slip surface will feel good on bare feet and drain well. Sailing nomads, remote self sufficiency Ep 134 Freedom is the first step to self sufficiency, or should that read: Self sufficiency is the first step to freedom? Either way, we have been lucky enough to be free to sail the remote west coast of Australia all year; exploring the islands and learning their stories. Armed only with Rob's 3 years of racing P class yachts from the age of 11 to 13, and Rachel's non existent sailing knowledge, they set off to learn the ropes of ocean sailing. They broke stuff, replaced stuff and got to know their boat before heading offshore with the kids, Finn (then 13), Declan (then 11) and Ivan (then 8), in tow. Through trial and error they have become confident wayfarers, kind of. The plan? To sail around the world. Part of the journey will be retracing Rob’s eldest brother Kerry’s travels at sea. Using Kerry’s original letters from the 1970’s they hope to retrace his movements from Australia through Indonesia and South East Asia to Cambodia where Kerry’s life was cut short after straying into Cambodian waters in 1978.

What broke when we loaded our novel Dyneema Chainplates to 4,000kg? Something did, but what? We want to be sure that the Dyneema loops we are building our chainplate system around will be strong enough to sail around the world on our 44 year old boat! In Dyneema Episode 2 we test tensioned our chainplate loops (held in our FR4 backing plates) to 1,000kg. That started to remove the constructional stretch but it wasn't enough to be confident they were strong enough nor that we had removed all the stretch. However, with a 1,000kg scale and a 1,500kg pull-along we needed to change things to get enough tension. This shows how we got to test at more than 4,000kg. We are changing all the standing rigging on our 1977 Rival 38 to Dyneema synthetic rigging. That includes all shrouds, stays and even the chainplates for both masts of our ketch rig. To learn how to make these see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU_mmdbQeCQ ("Make an EASY Amsteel soft shackle with overhand knot - includes break tests!" from HowNOT2) This is the third episode in our Dyneema series that will cover all the design choices, the practicalities of a completely DIY re-rig and then how it works out when we go sailing. Our masts are both down and have been almost completely stripped, then painted with: 2 coats epoxy primer (with epoxy filler between coats) 1 coat of two part undercoat 2 coats of two part top coat We have fitted new FR4 backing plates for the mizzen chainplates and are getting ready to do the backing plates for the main mast chainplates. Our Chainplates are essentially an overhand knot soft shackle with the "eye" above deck (the shrouds get lashed to this). The knot is below the backing plate. Not only are we fitting Dyneema chainplates we are also having a Dyneema forestay which means no roller reefing. So we are modifying our original sails to be hank on (with webbing hanks). We have upgraded our Bow Roller to support this. Lots more detail on our blog at https://sustainablesailing.net/ If you would like to encourage us then you can support us on Ko-Fi! https://ko-fi.com/sustainablesailing/ Or visit our shop at https://sustainablesailing.teemill.com/ #DyneemaRigging #DyneemaStandingRigging #BoatRefit

** NOW SOLD ** Gingerbread Man is a Duncanson designed JOG racing yacht. Built in 1987, Gingerbread Man raced in the Junior Offshore Group (JOG) fleet where she was National Champion on several occasions. She was on sold twice before being bought by the current owner who has spared no expense in her racing and maintenance program. From July to December 2005, she underwent a major refit on the hardstand at the RSYS, where she was stripped to a bare hull and keel before undergoing a full respray. Her first day back out on the water sailing was March 2006. Since that time, she has been professionally maintained in near perfect condition with absolutely no regard for budget and with minimal racing. Some of her more notable results were divisional wins in the Sydney Harbour Regatta, the Australia Day Regatta, The Balmain Regatta, the Spring/Summer Series at SASC, the Winter Series at BSC and the Spring/Summer Twilight Series at BSC.

Sailing cleaner oceans This is our adaptation on Taika Waititi's racism video which most New Zealanders will know. We have teamed up with In Mocean to do our part to recycle some of the plastic waste that is drowning our oceans and choking it's critters. Can you help us raise enough funds to buy a plastic extruding machine so that ocean plastic can be upcycled? If so, here is the link to the crowd funding page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/machines-for-our-in-mocean-recycling-fleet/x/28081026#/ Thank you to Taika Waititi for the inspiration for this video. And thank you for helping keep us afloat and supporting the creative process. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #TheCruisingKiwis #In-Mocean
