From what we've seen in our 4 months here, the Indonesians love festivals, and the chance to fly banners, play loud music, make speeches, and eat plenty of spicy food! The Bahari and Kora Kora Festival of Ternate was held on 10-11 December 2012, at the island of Ternate, one of the principal Spice Islands of N.Maluku Province in eastern Indonesia). The opening ceremony featured an Indonesian cultural dance with traditional band. Instead of a ribbon-cutting, the Mayor and other dignitaries opened the festivities by beating on Tambur Drums. The main event was the Kora Kora boat race. Teams of paddlers in local wooden canoe-style boats made a number of relay "heats" over the 2 days, racing the boats along the sea front, starting and ending at the Sultan's Pier. Between races, the people had fun at the Amusement Park nearby. Filmed in December 2012.

The Brazilian team of Grael and Kunze can win the regatta with a race win, the rest all need to win this race in order to push the event on to the next race.

Die Sicht war eher durchschnittlich, im Nordariatoll etwas schlechter als im Süden. 6 days of diving in Ari atoll, Maldives, January 2013. Lots of grey reef sharks, mantas and whale sharks, nice critters. Visibility was average, better in South Ari as in the North.

We were in attendance of the full moon party in Trellis Bay, Tortola, British Virgin Islands on Sunday January 27th 2013. Die Delphine waren ca. 40sm südlich von Ponza kurz vor Sonnenuntergang. Wir verbrachten nur 2 Nächte in einem Hafen (Lipari) sonst wurde geankert. Final Day of Racing for the Men's and Women's RS:X and Paralympic events.

The first ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami medalists of 2013 were determined on day five. Men's and Women's RS:X events conducted semifinal and final round races. The 2.4 mR and Sonar fleets of the Paralympic events took part in their final day of fleet racing.

MIAMI, Fla. (January 31, 2013) -- It was a critical day of racing for the ten Olympic and two Paralympic classes at the 2013 ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami. As the fleet series winds down for these events and in some cases new racing formats go into motion, the time is now for sailors to make a run at the leaderboard. The regatta's largest event this year is the Laser, which features 70-boats in gold and silver fleets. Sweden's Jesper Stalheim finished the first series, which concluded yesterday, with the lead and he finished today on top of the leaderboard in the new series. He was third and second today, while Charlie Buckingham (USA) overtook second place after winning race nine in the new series. The World #3 Bruno Fontes is in third.

Paul and Sheryl Shard, take you aboard their new Southerly 49 sailboat, Distant Shores II, for commissioning on the south coast of England sailing to ports in Chichester Harbour and around the Solent and also try narrowboating on English canals. Next is a shake-down cruise across the English Channel to the Channel Islands off the coast of France. Then new adventures begin sailing to Holland through the shallow Wadden Sea to discover the wonders of the Frisian Islands, then through Germany's Kiel Canal into the Baltic Sea to explore beautiful cruising grounds in Denmark and Sweden. On the return voyage, travel through the Dutch Canals from the North Sea inland to Amsterdam. This series concludes in the tropics with a trip to Panama to sail with friends through the San Blas Islands.

Come on a voyage north to the Emerald Isle. Then on to Scotland and cross the Crinan and Caledonian Canals and into Loch Ness. Next it's north to the rugged Shetland Islands to explore the northernmost British Isles. Midsummer means a passage to the beautiful Norwegian coastline to investigate Viking heritage and sail into the amazing Fjords. Sailing back south we visit historic Orkney before heading to the whisky island of Islay and the Isle of Man. With winter's approach it's time to visit the Brittany Coast of France, a sailor's paradise. 3-disk set. 312 minutes.
